It's still on the earlier side of the true high season. Historically it's really busy after xmas so I think we will know in the coming weeks. Last year was terrible, and this year is much improved over that. Xmas and New Year's week in Jaco is of course always insane in terms of traffic and everything being booked and this year was no different. From what I have heard, high season rentals seem to be booked up at premium rates as is typical in the area. The dynamics of how people travel has changed since the pandemic In general it seems tourists spend more time at the beach, outdoors in nature, or in tours and less time at restaurants, bars, shops. There also seem to be more people travelling in larger groups, renting out airbnbs as a social bubble, and hosting more of their dinners and parties there. So the long answer is that in some places I see more tourists than usual, but it's still somewhat quiet for Jaco in 'town'. Still vibrant and somewhat busy, but you won't have trouble getting a table in a restaurant so far. And the nightlife after 10p.m. is very minimal although this might change if pandemic related restrictions are modified.
Just recently spent 2 separate weekends in town. In early December it was still kind of slow wow but The week before Christmas It seemed to be almost back to normal.

thanks for your comment ! I'd say that is pretty typical of Jaco's high season. It only really gets going in the last few days before Xmas
