So I have the same exact set up but standard steel lower. How exactly did you modify the barrel because mine is the single piece 14.7 inch however, I think I want to start running a suppressor as well… Did you do it or have someone else? I will probably get one of the four plugs that the guy is offering on Facebook. Cool video!
Mine also had the one piece barrel. After scouring the net I found reference to "Michael's Machines" in a forum like 15 years archived as someone who could work on 55x rifles. I reached out. He told me he had the proper tools to remove 55x barrels. He cut my flash hider off behind the slots and turned down the remaining portion which left enough meat to thread and it has a good shoulder. It honestly looks factory. It cost me $375 which is a lot for barrel work like that but he was the only person I even knew could do it. He did great work. My 553 is registered on a form 1. www.michaelsmachines.com
My 4 position plug is a Swiss one. I never found any others. I ran across one guy selling some for sig 556's but I think he said they weren't compatible with swiss sigs. Not sure. I payed a premium for mine on gunbroker.
