That little CRKT (to me) is the perfect little EDC.
The combination of the semi-serrated blade and the tanto tip really worked for a wide range of stuff. I used the serrations to strip wires and the tip to scrape gaskets.
I regularly had to saw through battery cables, wire harnesses, radiator, vacuum hoses, fuel and brake lines (even metal lines), pry off valve covers or old rusty water pumps, cut through electrical loom or carpet to get to the parts that I wanted...and damn that little knife was an extension of my hand.
The shape of the handle gives you a little recess where the serrations are so while closing the knife you can get a bunch of leverage and guillotine through really tough small diameter stuff, and the liner lock jimping kinda holds it there...which I seriously doubt the designers intended, but I found useful countless times.
I found the blade size to handle ratio to be practically perfect for disappearing into the corner of my pocket. Super light weight, scalpel precision.
I used to buy them 2 and 3 at a time, and the last time I bought any was a lot of like 10 on ebay. I've had all the variations of the small-frame M16 and they're all fantastic.
Every one of them got the same treatment. I punched out or ground off the detent that keeps the blade closed and put some locktite on the main screw at just the right tension so the blade would flip out with a slight flick of the wrist but wouldn't open under it's own weight. Some of them come with a weird safety mechanism that goes straight into the trash first thing.
Absolutely delightful little beast of a knife.
    I just bought 2 more!

I've been EDCing CRKT M16 Tanto folders for at least 15 years now, for all the same reasons. Inexpensive, and you can beat the shit out of em! Good choice!

They are such great blades for short money. It’s hard not to recommend them.

I have a Benchmade 940 but after watching your video I decided to check this CRKT out. I’ve always liked it but was overwhelmed by how many models of this they have and also have been hung up on blade steel. I’ve had some CRKT knives in the past I’ve enjoyed like the Drifter. The 940 is great but it’s a tad big for everyday and I was a little annoyed at myself for spending so much for a knife. I’ve had the M16 for almost a week now and I’m really enjoying it. I never thought I would buy another partially serrated knife but they sure are useful for cutting rope. Also I’ve always loved tantos. Also going against the grain for me is black coated blades but I love it. Just the whole aesthetic of this knife is pleasing and I never saw a frame lock with such solid lockup. They are $40 at Bass Pro. I even got a second as a spare. Your review was spot on. Thank you.

That's a great price for a very nice knife! And, I saw the same thing with the foliage. It just changed dramatically over the weekend!

I've been carrying the same Buck 110 for over 30 years. I got it from my folks for Christmas when I was maybe 12?

I have a CRKT M16-14D. It’s a great knife for what I do. One size up from what you have. Good review.

My stepdad got me a leatherman 20 years ago. I use it almost daily.

I actually just picked up a Leatherman and I love it. I still carry a knife in my front right pocket, but the leatherman rides in my back pocket when I need a tool.

Thought about buying a Benchmade or spyderco knife a very premium knife but then thought what if I loose it then I would be sad so I went with this one and is perfect was debating between this and the Gerber paraframe but settled for this because of the tanto tip and flipper tab.

Cool video. Solid review. I’ve owned this knife 2x now and sadly lost it 2x. Been debating to get one of the larger models or buy my 3rd one of these. I like the aerated blade, just wish the handle was about 25% larger.

Have you tried the GRN handle version? I like the simplicity of the frame lock but wonder if it's a bit on the thin side for my XL hand. The production on your videos is top notch! It's a pleasure to watch. Cheers from Canada.

I haven’t tried the nylon handled variant. I know they just released a bunch of new versions at Shot Show though. I’ll probably end up buying a few. I’ve been carrying a CJRB Crag a lot lately and really like it as well. The D2 steel is a great compromise between edge retention and ease of sharpening. amzn.to/3IKDtB1

How has the weather changing effected your eggs and stuff? Our layers almoat completely dropped off the past few weeks when it got down to 30 degrees

They are great blades. I’ve been meaning to pick up the large version.
The layers are still trucking along. Slowed down a little, but not much. We are awash in eggs.

I bought this knife working in the kitchen. Usually opening kitchens. This knife can do it all. Compact. Sturdy and the slanted blade can be used for peeling crappy labels off things. @Yohandyfilms I've also lost 2. 1 I gave to the employee who was kind enough to return it. This knife was in stores but unfortunately I think you can only get online now.Ive seen bad reviews for one handed reopening but the notch on the blade is great for one handed opening
