The first episode of your Vlog I watched featured you standing at the stair to the high limit area in the Bellagio, talking about how nervous but excited you were to walk up that step. Now I'm watching ping 6 figure tourney finishes, be part of a successful card room, represent WPT, and go up against some of the biggest names in the game. This might be my favorite hero arc I've been around to witness. I wish you much success, good health, and cold beers. Cheers!
Don't sweat it, that guy in black is a total fish. There's no way he can make that call with K,9 when the majority of the time he's going to be up against aces, kings or A,K.
completely, can’t believe he played that in the way the he did. Just so unfortunate to lose something like $15,000 to a guy like that just because getting it back isn’t guaranteed if you don’t get the right cards lol

That was one of my most enjoyable episodes! Awesome job to you and your crew for putting it together. Great editing and commentary. I really appreciate the video cuts you guys inserted from past hands into the analysis you shared on the big hands; what you were thinking, why you saw it the way you did, as well as all the other observations you made to come to your decisions. I mean it was just freaking excellent from start to finish! I don't play, but really enjoy your vlogs!!!
As a viewer who watches these videos during lunch time…I appreciate the shoutout. It’s funny cuz I just happened to eat my last fry when you said that too. Had a cheeseburger with large cheesefries from Portillos during this video.
I really need to do some reading on why super light bets on connected flops are somehow good for making money. I just do not understand why people bet 1/4 pot into a board with reasonable flush and straight draws. It only gives value to hands that connected and rarely gets folds. It *must* be predicated on the idea that you can make the reads super well and lay things down because it feels like chasing thin value just to lose a *huge* pot every so often.
It seems to me when playing the 72 game, when facing mid-late position raises, you should ALWAYS be 3-betting 72. You balance it out with good hands, and other hands. It’s because opponents’ ranges widen in late positions and they’ll more likely fold pre-flop.
Hey Brad throughout my entire poker journey you’ve motivated me to stay consistent and keep pushing. Just want to thank you for all the content and I’m rooting for your success. Sincerely pinto bean poker
I just feel like Brad plays a lot of hands that he never used to and he’s not winning on them, but he has come along ways and I love watching his logs. He’s just playing different now.
Big fan of Brad and think you have an excellent brain for NL strategy, but I think you’re thinking in the AQ was pretty bad. You seemed to overvalue that you hadn’t tripled as a bluff in the game yet and undervalued that this villain played the previous hand as a total station (allowing his to turn way more kings than normal) and it’s bad strategy to bluff stations.
@@swish9852 Good trick to pull on friends is say you can take 8 cards out of a 52 card deck and tell them they can’t make a straight with the rest. Just take out the 5s and 10s and wait to laugh
lol --- around lunch time 50% of viewers watch these videos. That is totally me. I've been watching your videos on my lunch hour at work for the past 3 years!
Brad I've been watching for the last 2 years. In my personal opinion, the days you lose bigger, you seem determined to get bluffs through rather than fold. Once you show 2 or 3 bluffs, the table are always more likely to call a bit looser. I don't mean to offend you, but it's worth remembering as I always like to watch you win!
I think it's wild that when I started watching you and Andrew there was a vibe that you were somewhat tight but well educated on the game. Now you've become even more educated and are much more of an action player. Is that by design, the more you know the more you can expand how you play and what you play?
I like Poker but the cards just don’t go my way most of the time. My last hand of the night, I bet all in with Ace/King hoping for a double up and get some money back. Then I get called by 10 high. And another 10 comes off.
@BradOwenPoker Have you considered adjusting your non-72o bluffing ranges when playing the 72o game? e.g. in the 2nd hand with AKo, I assume you take the same line with 72o. If so, you probably have =32 bluffing combos (72o, AKo). Does that concern you? Or do you believe the extra 200$/person covers the exploitability?
Brad, it’s good that are always things you wish you do different after a session. That’s what differentiates poker players who get better from those who don't.
Curious why we don’t raise the AK on the river in the 3b pot where we just called. Obviously against villains specific hand class it wouldn’t have worked, but villain shouldn’t have sets or 2p for river sizing, plus you may get AK off a chop sometimes.
Thanks for showing your losses Brad! It helps keep the fire alive and serves as a good reminder that there is always ups and downs for even the best players. Keep on keeping on Brother.
Brad I’m pretty stoned so this question might not make sense but here we go. When you say something like “lifts the spirits a bit” after winning a pot, do you make a note that your spirits were lifted right after you play the hand or do you just come up with that as you watch it back? Sorry if that’s the worst comment you’ve ever read but I’m curious hahaha
@@KJ-dn7wr I’m not right now either, I know Brad makes notes in real time, I’m wondering if he makes the note that his spirits are up in real time or not
You are playing good and have some good reasoning for why you are making certain decisions but you definitely have some work to do. There were a few spots where you should have bet, like the 5 ♠️ 9 ♠️ hand. But overall, impressive
Every single poker Vlogger today: “I’ve got 9-4 unsuited and really should fold here cause this is a terrible hand. You should never do this, but I’m gonna go ahead and raise it 12 times the BB” 😂😂

17:00 dont beat yourself too much, i assume the solver there doesnt think that early position open call 3bet includes KTs and probably some worse combos, if you run those as the part of the oponent range i think the solver would agree that AQ is a 3bet there
7 way (bomb pot) to flop with aces xx%? Gotta tread lightly (post) or go aggro if flop gives you more equity? Would ALMOST rather have middling suited connectors/gappers 5-8 (AA's and KK's nemesis). Not being able to raise opponents with junk hands out preflop makes navigating post a nightmare, especially when villain(s) commit at the river (polarization on steroids). Anyone put a good read together on bomb pot strategies yet? Recommended site find? Still quite a few players opting out/bathroom break during bp's these days.

You didn't have to 3 bet that big hand. When you size up your opponents strategy and chip count and the position in that position I just say hey he's playing it right and I can't do a thing accept get out of the hand and I either check or fold to any bet. That would have saved you money / percentages and if you can see that position again try to save your money.
Just a question of poker etiquette. After getting stacked and buying back in. When you win a hand but are still down piles do you tip the dealer usually?
8:25 You probably already know this but for others: careful using the solver to judge your frequencies. It makes a ton of a assumptions about the opponent. Should only be a starting place to work backward from. Thanks for the content!
