Wow, thanks! Do you have a link? I couldn't find it on the site.

YT sometimes edits out links, so you can click on "Tool Talk" in our header, and then look for "Homemade shop press punch table", either on page 1 or 2. Email me at "jon" at our url, and I'll set you up with a coupon code so you can register on our forum and post your videos whenever you like; looks like you're one of us :)

Nice work. Where did you get the metal for the table, looked like it had a nice finish? Also have you seen bliss punches ? I don’t know much about them, but they look fast, and not too expensive used... anyway thanks for the video and great work

Its precision ground steel from McMaster Carr. Does Bliss make the actual punches or just the presses. The presses look nice. Not too much used equipment here in Phoenix Arizona. Will be nice when I get a real shop in the future for that kind of equipment. Thanks!

They make the press. I love on the phoenix area as well, not too much out there, but if you search punch press on Craig’s list you will find a few different brands, I also search LA Craig’s list to get and idea of the market, seems like they run $1000-5000 for smaller presses. I don’t know too much about them, but working on a project that might require down the road, so I’ve been doing some research (that how I found your channel... ) might use your system, and/or I think I’m going to pick up a small plasma Cnc table soon, and see how that works. But for making a lot of holes, those powered punch presses look fast.

Yeah, I looked at the presses in LA. Looks like one company with some 45-55 ton. Wish I had the space for something like that.

    Hi Craig,
Speed is nice, but keep a close eye on your fingers. Some type of a guard around the punch would be helpful.

The punch guide only lifts up about 3/8" so it would be pretty hard to get your fingers caught in there. But yeah, better safe than sorry.

So what you're saying craig is you haven't been ON the actual production lines as a worker much..... I have a minor qualification in organization of production lines. And what you're explaining.... we would have a little ledge for the plates and actually push the button down BEFORE we put the plate in and shove the plate on fast. I often work on an automated saw and cold forger press at the same time. I spin between both machines and get in a real rythym. Forger piece out and new one in and press go, then spin to pull stuff off the saw and feed in more material and press go on the saw. The saw is computerized with air pressure clamping and then an air pressure ram that moves the blade down at a speed set by a speed control knob. 100 items an hour is normal.

Sounds pretty efficient. Yeah, we try to do something similar. We shear sheet metal while the CNC machine is cutting.
