Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Is it better than AG1 ?
Please buy a drone for your videos
Who pays more for a sponsor. asking for a friend
Gotta say it... Nope, nothing. Ship shape.😊
@@Chiellus11 It’s a full meal replacement Huel. I use it and have done for over 18months now. I use it for my lunch replacement and it keeps me full until later in day, stops me buying snacks and food during day. Lost 3 stone in first 6months from stopping eating rubbish when hungry.
Huel do an equivalent to AG1 but this black addition is a full meal replacement
When Zach brings up Chris Farley in any way, it's going to be a good day. 100% agree...if you don't know Farley, you're missing out!
Amen to this!
Getting your starter use down that low is pretty awesome. Perfect example how it’s the free market, not regulations, that make agriculture efficient AND environmentally friendly.
We used to keep a 30' rotary hoe tucked away in the hedgerow that we would use maybe once every 5 years just to break up the crust on top after planting early and getting a bunch of rain afterwards. It saved our bacon many times.
That exact shot fert system is genius. Prolly saves you oodles on fert costs!!!
Matt Caron is a great guy, was our agronomist for alot of years at prairie ag partners, we were sad to see him go but he is doing great things now, and we sit by him in church quite often
Having expert guests makes this channel legit. (And an expert host doesn't hurt either.)
But is the actor that plays the farmer really a expect. Lol
Good to see someone starting before the sun comes up . I do it everyday
Zach 1:42 to 1:47 shows what I've been dealing with for years. Paint spilled into your hair. It happened to me after my first son was born. Great channel, thank you for you and your teams work promoting farming in America! Happy Memorial day. 🇺🇸
Ive been watching you for a while and since I have I have started to love farming, this is the best farming channel out there. Ive also learnt from you how much work there is outside of a tractor cab
"Life of a farmer baby! WÆOOOOOOHOO" ~ Millennial Farmer, 2024
Good to see you having a better planting season than last year with the new planter
Happy Memorial Day weekend Johnson family and Jim!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Can’t wait to see the new dryer! Looks like it’s going to be a big upgrade!!!
Glad you got all your corn in finally, we’re about 40-50% done planting in our area but ended up getting 2.5 inches of rain and 7 inches of snow Thursday-Saturday early morning more rain tonight, tomorrow and Thursday
My dad planted with a two row Lister and a B John Deere. But he had only 70 acres.
The technology in your planter, fertilizer application, and computer plotting software is just amazing. The fact you can apply fertilizer exactly where you need it and not where you don’t is about as efficient as possible minimizing the expense. And the ability to plot exactly what you’re planting where and track yield at harvest per test strip is amazing. And I thought you just liked buying shiny green machinery!
GLAD YOU GOT THE TEST PLOTS PLANTED. HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY MEMORIES DAY WEEKEND!!
,,,,behind the scenes magical! It is great that you were able to finish seeding! Now we don't know WHEN that actually happened but whenever it happened...good on ya!
Is your planter named Benny? Warming up the jets in the morning. Farley comedy gold, man I miss great comedy. Have a marvelous Memorial Day, thanks to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice fighting for freedom and liberty.
4:34 the perfectly cut off scream, I can't 🤣
I've been on the Huel train for years now. It is my favorite thing. If you are neurodivergent and struggle eating, get you some of this. You can get all the nutrients you need without a lot of extra steps.
What is the flashing light on the floor cleaner? 17:00
hey glad you got the corn seeded on time , that was good timing by the way. I remember on our small farm , Dad was always frustrated when it rains when he wants to rototill and plant 3 rows of corn. Keep up the wonderful work- stay safe....... :D
My Grandpa would never tell anyone goodbye he always tell them Tootles just remind me of home when you said that I help on his farm growing up
I was down close to Victoria, Texas and the corn is tasseling out. It won't be long before they will be looking for harvesting time.
One more thing it's 5-25-2024 and the temperature is 98 degrees with a heat index of 113 degrees F.
Hope everything goes good for you all ! How is Jim not seen him in a while.
The amount of knowledge and physical skills necessary to be a modern farmer is equivalent to that of a commercial pilot and a surgeon. Amazing what the knowledge base now is and has to be to succeed.
Deere should have a funnel unit on those little hopper extensions!
Looks like the BFN man was impressed with your operation.
For the love... hook the grain dryer to the 6, run it open and upside down in front of the planter, and get it done.
zac I watch the old dry up load the other day just thinking aloud now would you be able to put some type of frame under the new dryer so all the bees wings etc that is left under it slide out to the out side to make clean up much easier mo
New Favorite Quote: "I'm going South towards Mexico, a few thousand miles that way."
when you told him he works there now. it reminded me of something. sounds like the resort i worked at and also a local store, you apply to do something there, next thing you know they have you doing other stuff also.
Great video as always
Mission Control to Zack. It looks like, you’re in a spac ship, using your microphone. 10 4 Zack. Jerry from Anaheim, California USA. ❤
Thanks for another great video Zach and Dad and Matt and Becky.
It was most interesting and informative and enjoyable to watch.
I never had to deal with a test strip like that, so it was most interesting to see what you were doing and how you did it.
Lot of work really but gives you a real good look at how the test strips did and what products and seeds were the best, if I understand you correctly. Oh my.
You beat the rain 🌧️ so that was good. Matt had a lot of real good information on seeds and fertilizer and soils. Most interesting.
Have a nice Memorial Day weekend Zach and family.
Thanks for everything.
Take care and be safe.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Truth about Tommy Boy. My kids were raised with it. The go to show on sick days. LOL!!
Spraying the clouds to create rain is the normal in Scotland now if we have a sunny day the sky are covered in spray planes next few days garrenteed rain .
Watching from NSW Australia 🇦🇺
I love your sense of humour. You sometimes sound like Captain Kleeman the way you sort of talk to yourself. That is so honestly human Zack, it proves that it's not the stand-in, just "You". Thanks for your time, you don't have to do this, still you do!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good morning I was up at 5 this morning moved the camper and truck box trailer to mow under them thinking zack be proud keep safe
I like your directions to Mexico!!!
Zach, it would nice to know what day of the year it is when you start your videos. I know on this one your radio said May 15th. that was great.
All that money and innovation, and they overlooked a key fob to unlock one door? 😂😂😂
Zach, it would nice to know what day of the year it is when you start your videos. I know on this one your radio said May 15th. that was great. Thanks.
Is it still that cold there? Relative in North Dakota said they had snow 2” couple days ago ago.
Ive seen studies that show from 70-90% of soil applied P being completely tied up within 2-3 weeks. Furthermore, when you apply P in the furrow it creates a disassociation between the plant and soil microbes that are capable of supplying the plant with organic, otherwise unavailable P. The biggest issue with this is when the plant demands increase for P during the reproduction stage (grain fill). The furrow applied P is completely tied up and soil biology is dormant because you took its job away early. If you haven't already, do a soil total nutrient digestion test. It'll blow your mind when you see how much phosphorous and potassium are already present in your soil in organic form. The problem with traditional bray and Melich soil testing is, they only account for in-organic forms of nutrients and completely miss organic forms. I'd also highly recommend sap testing through the growing season. I was blown away at all the micronutrient deficiencies and excessive nitrate levels I had when I started. The biggest eye opener was some of the deficiencies on my sap test showed sufficient on my soil test. After further investigation I found out that certain micro nutrients like manganese, calcium, iron etc... will show adequate levels in a soil test because a soil test doesn't differentiate between oxidized and reduced forms, whereas a sap test does. A soil test will very rarely show iron deficiencies, but the iron is oxidized and plants can't utilize it. Iron will almost always show adequate levels in a tissue test as well for the same reason (they don't differentiate between reduced or oxidized forms either). Sap testing has allowed me to greatly reduce fertilizer inputs while increasing yield and crop health. traditional soil test are a great marketing tool for selling P and K in my opinion.
Thats why he apllied just a small amount of P on the seed to get the plant started.
@@lynwessel2471 Any amount is to much
Foliar application avoids the issue..When in grain filling stage foliar is a shot strait to plant...Also a great time to add macros/micros...Manganese as example produces oil in oil producing plants...Alot of people are concerned about p and K and enough N but miss that manganese will make a heavier test weight because there is more oil in each bean or kernal....many ways to skin the cat...to me it seems more logical to foliar so none of the organic matter ties up majority of whats applied...your making 2 to 4 sprayer pass's anyways reguaddless...
Something to keep in mind to make foliars work. Foliar fertilizers (depending on the nutrients being applied) also need to be chelated and in the correct form. For example, if you have an iron deficiency, and you choose to apply foliar iron, it needs to be in a reduced form and most importantly chelated. If the iron isn’t chelated, it’ll quickly oxidize and the plant won’t be able to utilize it. It’s all about timing, balance, and analysis.
@@caseymac2287 alot of research, time, effort...General public may have a garden at home and uses what they can find...A commercial farmer spending $5 to make $7 as example to squeeze every dollar xtra through out the season to capitolize at harvest....It is a giant rubix cube and every year is differant...The technology involved is incredable but still need a human to see and know what is going on..Agronomist stopping by is never money lost...
lol millennia I love you your videos and I’ve been watching for a long time and they just interest me about farming because one day I wanna be a farmer!
Dang, here in Campbell county, Ky. our soil is around 7.2, 7.3 in places. Can’t imagine over 8.
Awesome video . Thank you guys
Yes no break downs. Gods on your side once again .. just do what you can.
Zach and Becky great video great explanations it is going to be done Matt great job your hired Dad great job Becky enjoy the weekend with the family and friends 🧡
Of course it sunny that way cause we need a good rain here around new braunfels Texas
Noted this was from the 15th, so hope everything got done as close to the time it needed to be done. But that's a prayer every year :)
I found this channel about a year ago and have seen every one!! Zack I like how you explain stuff. By the way I get all of your jokes. I can’t wait for my boy to be old enough to watch Tommy Boy
I love you videos I been watching you for probably 5 years now keep up the good work
I love your videos videos. Keep up the good work I hope Onyx is doing good with school.
What is the purpose of the rings on the end of the banjo clamp, other then to get in the way when you clamp them down?
Loving the huel product placement. Have you tried Brawndo? It contains everything your body craves. 👍
Thanks for the ride.
Thanks
Got the Tommy Boy reference right away. You guys have been gettin' after it. Take a little break & enjoy! 😎👍🏝
If only copyright laws didn’t exist for songs and we could hear the rest of that jam you were teasing us with.
I have failed my children...they hated Tommy Boy...Love Happy Gilmore. Raised em (all 3 girls) on Adam Sandler and Chris Farley movies. Love the chanel keep it up
Getting it in is the life of every man not just farmers 😅
Get the cambridge roller out on that earlier drilled crop,it's capped over.
Happy Memorial Day... how is Jim? Is he ok?
TECHNOLOGY AT ITS FINEST!
Thats the same tractor computer system that Andy Hourigan from Fixing Farming Fabricating has on his planting tractor
I don't consume much/many fried foods. But I am headed to McDonald's now for a free shake!
north and west of you is snow, you are so wet, but south of you in Iowa we are now a tornado factory, a normal spring for farmers!
It’s called weather manipulation so you believe in climate change and will willingly kill the economy by going electric and finding out too late that won’t work.
Sounds like you changed your on the go liquid food package.
It sure looks like your new seed drill is flawless. Al Shermack from canada
Hey Zack When you hook up the 2" liquid line And it has clamps on both sides with rings on it.Couldn't you hook those rings to a string and close them both at one time with a tug?or
Looking good Zach. Hope Jim is doing well.
5:26 happy birthday to me ……….. 5 15 74. 50 baby.
Have you considered putting time stamps at the beginning of each recorded segment? Farmer MD does that, I know that’s more editing.
Here in south central Illinois we got a lot of rain
Great, thanks MF’er, now I got that song stuck in my head!! 😄
In the description, there is still a link for the podcast. Are there any plans to start the podcast up again, or did between the rows replace off the husk? Thanks
I really enjoy your videos!!! Thanks for having such good videos!!
Watching from a combine in South Africa!!!
Go Boks!!
What are you harvesting?
Wat stroop jy?

Come on Zack!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I have that song in my head all day... lol
Haven' not seen Jim for a while!!
Life of a farmer baby woooooooooo😂🤣
I thought at first you said “Tommy” about 1975. That was a very disturbing movie. Then I heard Boy next time. I have been waiting to fertilize, roll beans, and drag corn.
Good morning from Tennessee.
Have a Nice and safe weekend johnson Family and jim.
Wow!! You almost had us looking into the future!! If you would have started the new video before ending this one, you would breached the space/time continuum. Of course you never know what havoc you might wreak in doing so!
Why do the test plot seed bags have tape on them usually?
We're Jim at. Miss seeing him
Great video!
We got 1.54” so far since Sunday this week. ❤️
You need to find that plant for your Minnie to plant test plots
Life of a farmer quote was the best
It’s been a long time since i heard that Joan Osbourne song.
Gold Country Seed!
For some stupid reason I wish that I had grown up on a Farm? At least your videos make me think that and I am 70 years old? I did cut, rake and square bail hay with an old A and a JD Bailer for a few years. Made me feel like I did something useful...
