Been watching for years dude! Timberborners season 2 I believe. As a shift worker, it's nice to binge stuff during my off weeks. Keep up with the awesome content RCE! Here's a bit to get Paddy some awesome treats! I got my own doggo, Kaylee, a spoiled rottie but a very kind and excitable rottie!
WOAH!!!! That's insanely generous of you, thanks so much- Paddy is going to be very spoiled!!! 😊
@@Got_Dayng if he can? He's just donated a ton I think he can afford it
A fellow OG! I've been watching RCE since before Timberborn came out. I believe it was a Trailmakers video that got me into RCE but TBH my memory is horrible due to childhood head trauma.
@Got_Dayng I'm already a patreon supporter my friend. Only just the other month because I kept forgetting about it. RCE is just so entertaining. Plus, he has a cool doggo!
i wish i could do that too :(
I love how he clearly knows about platform plus water pump engineering but yet built them all in a straight line instead of making sure all the straws are in the deepest bit. And you know who puts things in a straight line when it's more sensible to follow the edge of the deepest water? Architects, that's who
Add the evidence to the pile
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Then again he did learn from his mistakes on the last episode.
I already watched all these individual episodes but I've been working from home since 2020 and long videos like these are perfect to play in the background while I work. Thanks!
friand: wamna watch 1:30hr movie?
me: nuh uhh
rce: 3:25 timberboner video
me: excited caveman voices
timberboner?
This map is a bit easier now with the sluices and overhangs, you can build tall reservoirs and multi-level platforms for everything you need to get all the monuments built. Only real issue with this map is the limited room for trees means there is a lot of waiting around for logs.
Have you tried Vertical Tree Farms?
@@skippingrhyme4386 Is that something new? You can only plant trees on ground, and you can't put ground on overhangs or platforms.
One. After that its no longer empty.
Bonus question about boxes: what can you put in a box to make it lighter?
(box is not air tight, and you can't put a balloon or other such thing to contain helium/light gasses)
@@SingleMaltGamer A light bulb, A lighter, Butane ( its a lighter fluid ;) )
@@Frank.B.Crafts Swing and a miss: "a hole" - not an insult, it's the answer.
If you put two in on their side, it ceases to be empty at two, the answer depends on the thickness of the coins and the widest aperture of the container, the containers dimensions are known, but particularly medieval coins could be virtually paper thin.
Technically, he said 10 inches wide and 5 inches tall so the box is a 2D shape hence no coins fit
Matt: I can't believe I did that.
Audience: We saw Matt play. Now we're believers. And not a trace of doubt in our minds.
Answer to the riddle: about tree fitty.
Bro it's one 😂
@@miroslavdanchev6825 He wasn't actually trying to answer it was an obvious joke.... 😑
@@miroslavdanchev6825 well RCE missed a opportunity if you ask me 🤣🤣
Damn you, Loch Ness Monster!
0:21 OMG, I can't believe Matt incorporated me into the intro song! 😅
Matt: "Why haven't you set a fire [during a drought]?"
Idea: make a series with the flood map, the badtide will impact everything and will make it much more diffrent
Poor little scared thumbnail beaver. I just want to give him a big hug.
When you build a small dam or a mega dam, don‘t make a path other the dam, if possible make stairs and a path under water and don‘t have to worry about wet fur or a shower.
Love your videos
Quick tip regarding reforestation in the early game. If you exclude some trees from your cutting area, those trees will cause new trees to grow in place of the ones you felled. The only drawback is you have to manually send builders to take care of the stump left by the loggers in order for a new tree to grow there.
This way you don't have to hurry to unlock the forester or die.
This is my favorite Timberborner video. Watching it again while working from home sick.
I was actually hoping it was gonna be Timberborners monday
Belcome wack bo timtertorners
Telcome tack bo wimberworners
Eelcomw kacb ot simbetsornerb
It's MEGA EDIT Monday
I would love to see you play Dinkum. (They are about 12 different bridge types). 😊
Ahh, that's the season where Matt announces multiple times that he should build an engine, always gets distracted, runs a smelter with four power wheels and complains all the time that he needs more beaver. - Never change, Matt. Never change. 😀
the smelter is required tobuild the engine
@@dragong33k But he uses the metal for everything except building an engine.
This is really why he should either always rewatch the previous episode before playing, or keep a notepad with all his projects and things he says
For the next challenge remember: you can make paths through rivers, gives them the wet fur and can save alot of space and travel time.
I also always put path ways next to the river but then remembered they are water animals
Wait you telling me it also gives them wet fur.
Thanks for posting a combined version of this series, now I have an excuse to watch it again ❤️
Oaks are absolutely the best for long-term wood production, especially when space is an issue. Birch takes 9 days per log, pine are faster at 6 days per log, but oaks take only 3.75 days per log! They have a long lead time, but are by far the best after the first planting matures.
I think that it is best to have some pines for their resin, and because if he gets an Oak harvest and makes a mega dam but a catastrophe happens he’ll have a quicker source. The lumberjacks will also not have downtime
@@SuperDestroyerFox Obviously you need pines for resin, but you don't cut those down, otherwise they stop producing resin. As for the rest, you just don't get it; oaks don't just have a slight edge on pines, they produce wood almost _twice as fast._ Any conceivable scenario about not having enough wood, you are worse off with pines.
the answer to the riddle is 1 coin....
true
First thing that I thought of too.
Yeah
I dun goofed when I started playing Timberborn, I thought "A little mini map, that seems like a good one to play the tutorial on then I can start over on a real map." Then I quickly discovered that space is _so_ tight on this map that doing everything it tells you to in the tutorial is really pushing it.
I actually saw a beaver while fishing today
Was it... pumping its log?! Asking for a friend 🤫
This was my first full season of Timberborners so it's a weird feeling to see it as a film already.
Well to give a possible answer to your ridel, you only gave to dimensions W and T not any depth so it can't actually form a 3D box, BUT if you did have a box no matter the size it would no longer be empty when you put the first coin in :)
I really love this little map. It plays way different, you need think more in 3D. I really should start new one with aqueducts and other new good stuff
Those bears are really clever! They remember exactly wich building order you told them to build in. If you place them properly they wont ever get stuck
Yesssss! I love the long Timberborners vids
Those paddy adlibs were fire Matt
you can increase or decrease the working time, so in the beginning they can work all day, because they don't have campfires or other fun things to do.
Amazing video as always Jarrad! Love the passion and effort throughout mate❤️
I love this episode!! I watched this whole thing😭
I just want to say that I started watching when the video was 13 minutes out and I usually don't watch youtube videos for this long but this is a first and i like it.
I love this game!! I hope they add more beavers and stuff or multiplayer
how would you add/play multiplayer in this game? I mean, what kind of game mode would you want out of that?
@@maskharat could do a vs or coop. people could control different settlements and fight/share resources
@@anthonydoyle72 honestly with the game as it is I don't see that working. that would basically need a complete rework. For example fast forwarding/pausing in coop/multiplayer is a no go. One wants/needs to pause to do/save things, one wants to fast forward to wait out what's been planned. Would be a rather... exhausting... experience.
Against each other. Trying to fight for resources. That could work, but that would also need a whole rework of how the game works. And they'd need to kinda completely redo the game for for networked gameplay, also needing to pay for servers or do easy to cheat p2p connections.
I wouldn't get my hopes up for Multiplayer.
@@maskharat Theres already a mod for multiplayer, you could theoretically play pvp but its built for a coop mutual buildmode. Main host controls times
@@anthonydoyle72 I may look into it. Will first need to check the networking code, though. It's easy to create an online multiplayer and it's easy to make it a high severity security risk.
RCE... you keep saying that fermenter looks 'efficient' ... but surely the ratios on those three rooftop items should be somewhat different for efficiency purposes...
looks a little stunted, no?
lol I know you had a poll, and warned us you were going to do this. I even thought it was a good idea for you to do and voted in favor if the mega edits of older content. That said I still go awwwwwwweeee when I click on what I think is a new video and it’s a mega edit 😂😂
I'm here at 8:30am trying to get my beaver fix, so I've gone back 4 months because the line I MEANT SHAFT is too recent to rewatch
Hey Matt. I just wanted to say thank you for helping me keep hydroneer in my mind as I just got super lucky. I haven't even gotten my first drill and dug up onyx as my first gem. It will be the first of many so, thank you again
looking at the description of the kohlrabi makes me ask myself what paper the devs have been eating.
This is super entertaining to watch but also so frustrating!
U know it's time to sleep when TH-cam recommends u timberborners 1 to 3 hours videos.
i think that this is the same challenge as what season 9 will be
1:03:48 smh why was that tetris joke so funny 😂
I joined a game jam, and this video was on my to-do list. GAME JAM OFFICIALLY COMPLETED WOOOOO
I started watching matt 4 years ago, with an empty working pinkie finger, now i have a shiny little ring on it :) ifkyk
One day this Civil engineer is gonna master alien technology.
odd... surely the answer is one
My thoughts exactly.
Surely you can stop the top areas from drying out by building a dam across the top of the waterfall? It will still flow over the top of that in the wet season, but won't instantly dry out in the dry season.
24:08 only architects shames engineers
How did we become so fortunate to get a 3 hr vid drop
You have done a satisfactory playthrough on Patreon. Hmmmmm
Holy Crap... I keep forgetting that you are bringing out olllld content. "There is an update with bad water coming" Lol. I do like these older videos when they are like this current one... where, though out of date, are still fun to watch.
I have some timberborn ideas that I think would do well as a video, LIKE if you think they would work so matt can see them my 1st would be a myth for timberborn, everyone comment your thoughts and myths. mine is what happens when you Dynomite a block through the world, when it's in water. next I challenge matt to make every wellbeing bar full on the new map he is doing before it end (the one with bad tides) if you haven't finished recording
rest in peace adler the puppy engineer, gone too soon :( they were the absolute goat
Aww I thought this was another Season 7 episode :( :(
He's getting really good at rimming after 8 seasons of Beaver Enders
As to what you mentioned in the beginning of the video, I can say one or two of them may have a point about you not planning things out
As an engineer, how many of your projects made it to the construction phase and then you found out the project wasn't possible because of the existing terrain or features
Have you seen that Alistair guy’s mega builds!!? It’s like SimCity 😳
It's a bit of a different map now with bad water. It's but I've had a successful first real playthrough of the game on this map. Also a near miss down to 4 beavers because I forgot housing with the folktales
The latest experimental update for timberborn gives progress visuals for the structure.
Small maps are wonderful in that they run on a toaster.
Yay! Need my beaver fix
Have you tried Vegas? 😏🤭
Any amount of coins EDIT: I WROTE ONE COIN BUT THEN CHANGED IT
You would think after playing this game this long Matt would put water storage beside the log pumpers and not on the other side of the map. You kill me Matt...
I love Timerborners ❤❤❤❤❤
Love this map with iron teeth. After work il have a jolly good night seeing how long you last haha XD
The smallest map is a custom 11x11 diorama. =P I've a feeling it'll need to be bumped up to 15x15 or so by now though, needs room for the mine.
1 coin because of the definition of empty. lol it stumped me for a second then I rewound it and looked that was pretty good
My beavers work 20 hours a day until they get replaced by bots. There's no incentive to not make them work all the time, it's just a waste of effort.
Tree cutting -> Water -> Food -> Research -> Planks -> Forester
"Oh please help I haven't eaten in 5days..."
Day 43 of saying Oeh 😮 bimbertorners MEGA EDIIIITT OEH😮😮😮
Answer to the riddle depends on if you counted air as filling the box so it's not empty in the first place in which case: "Zero" or "None"
Otherwise the answer is: One.
I think giving them the day off when 1st threatened with extinction says a lot. That seemed to work. They're not using as much resources as when they're working.
Oh sh*t, I just finished watching this season of timberborners, I was waiting for the megaedit but this weekend I did a marathon...
that was the best song ever!
You the besttttttttttttttt In The engineering world
After 1 coin, it's not empty anymore o7
Three?
10:15 i guess it would be one coin
One Coin.
What's the beaver version of calling someone a slag
what is wrong with being an alloy making byproduct?
Technically 1
I love how your editors cut in their own comments.
Mega-stonks Monday!
In update 6, scavenger flag is already unlocked at the start.
Before bad tide! Good times 😮
you need to make a reservoir by blowing up the ground allowing for more water to get built up
One coin.
A happy beaver is a happy beaver
It never fails i forget its monday lmao
Do the pieces next to the edge of the map not leak? Didn't he learn this already or am I misremembering?
Mega dam, mega edit = 🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫
There is no specification for the third dimension of the box so you can fit zero coins in the box because the assumption is that with only 2 dimension specifications it's a 2d box and coins are 3d
Just one is enough for it to no longer be empty
Is it possible to put a 2 tall platform inside of a dam, behind a 3 tall dam block? That way it can open all the way at the bottom to let all of the water out.
Like:
WWWOOOWWW
----------DDD
Where W is a wall, O is a platform with a wall on top (assuming you can put walls on platforms) and D is the Dam doors
This has got to be the longest video I've watched
I'm in your video! Enjoying the last camp.
Minecraft is great but you might consider playing a modpack if you think you will get bored quick by vanilla minecraft. There are several modpacks that are of good quality and will make the game engaging
The answer is NOT one.
If you put two in on their side, it ceases to be empty at two, the answer depends on the thickness of the coins and the widest aperture of the container, the container's dimensions are known, but particularly medieval coins could be virtually paper thin, the answer is variable, but definitely not 1. Even modern coins can be as thin as half a mm, so the answer must be in the hundreds.
