- We never thought we would say this... but we are getting the hang of tuktuk life guys!
In today's episode we named our little three-wheeler, and started heading into Sri Lanka's beautiful highlands. We drove from Udawalawe National Park to Badulla (just outside of Ella) and it was the most beautiful drive! We are so excited to share more of this area with you. Sri Lanka truly is a gorgeous country 😍🇱🇰

Hi, I have been enjoying your videos. As I am traveling with my wife and daughter 3yo, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how long this routes were by tuktuk in hours.
I am an experienced driver so driving is not the problem. I only fear that it will be too long for a child.
Please let me know if this plan is doable with a child? Ideally the max length without stops would be 2hours.
Day 1 - Negombo to Dambulla
Day 2 - Dambulla to Sigiriya to Kandy
Day 3 - Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Day 4 - Nuwara Eliya to Tangalle
Days 5 - Tangalle to Galle
Day 6 - Galle to Bentona
Day 7 - Bentona to Colombo

Hello - glad you are enjoying the videos 😎 if 2 hours is literally your max length then I would say it's not doable. The max speed limit for tuktuks in Sri Lanka is 40 km - and even if the speed limit is 40 km, you'll often be going much slower while stuck behind trucks, going up mountains, traffic in towns, etc. We never drove any of the routes you propose, so I can't help specifically... however, it usually took us 20 - 50% more time then what was estimated in Google Maps for any long distance travel.
Yes, it is very sad that a fence has to be built for us so that the animals are protected..
