EP 05: AMAZING SAFARI IN SRI LANKA! 🇱🇰 BETTER THAN YALA NATIONAL PARK???

- This was the experience of a lifetime! It was our first safari ever and it did not disappoint. Even though the only big animal we saw was elephants, there were also tons of different birds, a couple of crocodiles from a distance and water buffalos. And you guys, the setting was so stunning here. We were so happy and for sure recommend visiting Udawalawe National Park instead of Yala National Park. We read the worst reviews from Yala unfortunately 🙈

We stayed in the "luxury tent with wild safari" room, and paid $130 for 2 nights!! (even cheaper than what I said in the video!). This room included the safari experience and a delicious, diverse and abundant buffet breakfast.
This is what we wrote on our personal notes about this property 😂:
"tents could use a wash but great service, yummy food and the setting was beautiful! Our tent faced the river and it was so peaceful. Great pool too!" (do keep in mind that food here was more expensive than anywhere else in SL. About $10/$12 p/p and they really try to sell you the buffet option for dinner which costs $15 p/p).

3:22 Actually best place to see Elephant in Sri Lanka is Minneriya National Park 'The Gathering' occurs in this park that mean "It is the world's largest congregation of Asian elephants in the wild." and if luck enough you can encounter Twins baby elephants in that park. Twins Asian baby elephants are very rare.

Normally male elephants are very aggressive and they are living alone. You are lucky to see that 1st male elephant that much closer 😍
We definitely were lucky! Thankfully he was super relaxed that morning 😅 the guide told us it wasn't mating season, so the elephants weren't too concerned with the jeeps being in their territory 👍
Yes. They use the trunk to grab and throw you.

During the last ice age, sea levels dropped. Making it possible for humans and animals to travel all over. But during every ice age, mass extinction occurred.
My cell phone fell out of my pocket when we went here and fell to the ground. When I realised our driver headed back to try to find it and after a few minutes, the driver of another car handed it to us. He had seen it on the ground and got out and picked it up.
Sad point is mostly baby elephants lost their mothers due to the gun shots by humans or accidentally fall into large wells...humans should be more responsible and caring for elephants and there should be more involvement from government to solve this issue
