    I don’t like to compare, but it’s not everyday where a TH-cam pianist just pop up and plays a collection of the hardest pieces ever, Rousseau saved the difficult pieces for big milestones like the La Campanella for 100k, HR2 for 2Million , meanwhile you just post everything at once regardless of the difficulties, that deserves some respect

      @@p-y8210 i think seon young is on a completely other level than most Concert Pianists. He managed to pull of pieces like Mereaux' scherzo alla napolitana which were believed to be impossible to play. I don't think someone like kissin lisitsa or lang lang or anyone could pull off something like that, and they are already elite piano players dont get me wrong, but seon is like a living piano god

      @@kaihagemann9928 Well what about solokov, hamelin, cziffra, yui morritsa, jack Gibbons, maltempo,Jonathan powell, john ogdon. They're all technical behemoths.
      Their technique is almost scary.
      Ps: lisitsa has a flawless la contrabandista recording. And kissin is also insanely good just listen to his interpretation of liszt's wilde jagt etude.

    • @Numberonesorabjifan
      @Numberonesorabjifan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      @@kaihagemann9928 of course kissin and Lang Lang and lisistsa can play it. There are many pianists who have the technical ability to play that. But they just don't want to learn it cuz it's probably gonna take them longer than usual and won't be worth it in the end. But if you think kissin, Lang Lang, lisitsa can't play it then you're mistaken.

      This is part is so singularly beautiful. I woke up from a nap just now with that tune in my head. I knew it was Chopin. I just had to pinpoint exactly from which composition. A ballade? A Polonaise. No... then it hit me, a Scherzo! I logged on, and found this interpretation. Best nap ever!

      The melody is from famous polish Christmas Carol "Lulajże Jezuniu" ("Sleep, little baby Jesus"). You can check it on YT, but try to find some older versions of the song.
      This way Chopin pays tribute to the times when he spent holidays in Poland with his family. He misses his homeland.

    This is why I have always loved classical music; the renditions everyone has. Recording did not exist during their era for a lot of the main compositions we play today (Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, etc.) They all have tempo markings, yes, but how they envisioned the piece to be played is up to debate. Your version of the scherzo is not a race to the end like others, but well paced out. It is not mostly forte like others, but there is a wide range of dynamics. Congrats on 1k, I look forward to hearing you play more classical works!

      I will have to disagree. I do admit that he is a phenomenal pianist but comparing him to a Pogolerich is yet too soon. If this pianist gets the opportunity to attend a competition or play in a named grand piano--preferably a Steinway, Yamaha, or Bosendorfer, then comparisons could perhaps be made.

    It's nice to see a pianist celebrate after performing, even for just a moment.

    Along with Sviatoslav Richter this is the best rendition in TH-cam. Excellent attention to hidden dynamics. Especially the left hand. There is a method to the madness of this monsterous scherzo and you discovered that method.

      Actually, there's one even better performance of Schezo 1 by the Maestro. Hope you get a chance to hear it when you discover who Traum is. It's truly a stunning recording.

    In my opinion, this is actually a top tier interpretation. Normally I listen to the famous names like zimmerman or pollini but for this piece I keep coming back here, Just love the amount of pedal you dare to throw into it. Amazing!

    Just found your channel and instantly subscribed. I don't know how you do it, but your interpretations are truly breathtaking. Every piece is so well played and clear, just pure music. For example your version of "La Campanella" is the best one I have ever heard so far - well, some parts are of course edited afterwards, but that's completely fine, because the music counts. Good luck for the future. It seems like the TH-cam algorithm pushes your channel at the moment and I have to say it clearly: You deserve it. I look forward to your future videos.
