This is inspiring me to sign up for more! I also just want to add, on the theme of how to interpret the repetitive structures, Horowitz, besides being mind blowing in the coda is really exciting how he builds up the tensions in this piece. This piece is really right up his alley.

Wonderful teaching. Much appreciated! Played this 20 years ago and now in piano recovery mode before retirement! Your sessions keep me going 🙏

    Hi
I used to watch your videos a while back when I still played piano. While I no longer play I just wanted to say that I glad you’re still producing content and I wish you all the best.

One of my absolute favorite Chopin pieces. Also one that I'm nowhere near able to play yet, and don't know if I'll ever be.

I need to finish the video but I just wanted to say man watching you pedal was like watching and F1 driver! I think we need a video just on peddling alone lol!

My favorite recordings were by Rubinstein, Pogorelich, and Hofmann. Funnily enough i started learning very recently, am sort of stuck on those stretches beyond the 10th on the left hand lol

@12min: pronation, supination, radial deviation, ulnar deviation, flexion, extension.
Also, since you asked about recordings we consult, and since you play a lot of Chopin, what is your opinion of Ashkenazy's complete recordings?

Hi Josh, thanks again for making the tutorial as usual. Just wonder which one out of scherzi no. 1 and 3 would be more accessible, given that I have learnt the 2nd and would like to learn another one?

3 has more variety with challenges in my opinion. The middle section is very hard to get comfortable with and control. However, I do think the passagework in 1, at least for my hands, feels a bit trickier. If you are comfortable with octaves and want to be challenged in a wider array of techniques, I’d go with 3. However, my best advice is to play whatever piece you love more if you are just going to choose one. When we love a piece, it is easier to spend the time to be patient and find solutions, versus a piece that doesn’t resonate with us as much
