I found if my flukes or skirts are coming off the jig, carry a bottle of super glue and put some on the jig next to the head and slide the fluke or skirt right up to the head, it will stay there a very long time.
The most amazing thing about your videos, Gene, is the way you get the fish to lay still once you’ve netted them and laid them on the boat deck. That first fish you caught would have been flopping all over my boat tangling every single thing I had in the boat. Good stuff!
We used to catch Hybrids and Sea Run Stripers in the spillways of Mississippi......... Sardis, Arkabutla.......but that was 30 years ago.......they are long gone......never to return i am sure. Great show Richard,,,
Mr Richard I wanted you to know I really enjoy watching your videos your are like myself a good old country boy and you have a clean show keep up the good work
THOSE WERE SOME BEAUTIFUL FISH!! BY FAR THE BEST FISHING CHANNEL ON THE INTERNET!! THE WIFE AND I JUST PUT A DEPOSIT ON A CABIN ON TOLEDO BEND FOR NEXT YEAR'S VACATION!! TILL THEN I'LL BE STUDYING UP ON TACTICS FROM THE ONE, THE ONLY, RICHARD GENE THE FISHING MACHINE!!! THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!
thank you mr.ive been in the Hospital in your videos keep me in good spirits I have surgery tomorrow say thank you mister Jean for all your picture you're very much loved
First time I seen you catching hybrids and stripers Gene. Those are my target species here in the Midwest. I will begin booking my flukes that way for now. Thank you.
Can't beat the sound of that braid when you hook into a fatty....another great video Richard! And I still laugh out loud every time Elmo shows up, without fail. I literally cannot help it. Woo!
Richard Gene, love your videos, I've been watching you for quite some time now, I have learned so much, I would love to see a catch and cook on one of your episodes, thanks from Mn.
Oh wow I spoke to soon u already guessed it!!!! U are on the money seen plenty of 10-13 lb hybrids in my day at the local lake that produces good very fun fish we troll with shiners freelined
In Tennessee we fish for what I have always called a rockfish (hybrid strip) and have caught 5 myself over 20 lbs ....and my old fishing buddy caught one that was over 40 using shad ....but usually we fish for them with a homemade jig made from deer hair called a bucktail jig and I tip it with a hilighter yellowish/green zoom trick worm in cold weather ..don't fish anymore but ten years ago first time it spit snow I was headed to the damn ....and for those who have never caught one on a jig it's like someone dropped a five gallon bucket full concrete on end your line .....my uncle fishes for them with a top water plug we always called a redfin down River and in the lake in warm weather ....use it in cold weather too but mostly the bucktail .....been years but it's some of the most addictive fishing in freshwater there is ......like I said don't fish anymore but I enjoy your channel because you fish for the same types of fish I always loved to fish for but those rockfish are like nothing else ....that and crappie fishing was always my favorite
Fishin' Machine I get real antsy when you jump up on that little bow deck and start a windin' yerself up. I hope you don't stumble and take a swim ! LOL Those bass were beautiful. Love yer' videos fo sho !
The appearance of your skip Jack....reminds me of what is called a HERRING (in NC coastal rivers....they migrate from ocean to freshwater to spawn) and we GASH them before we fry them up. We fry them well done (fry them hard and sort of crisby) so we can eat bones and all. We also love the roe I agree with you they make good CATFISH bait.....
Hi Richard Gene Your vids are great I been striper fishing for 15 almost 16 years that hybrid is still a striped bass. Salt water stripes come in and lay their eggs, and then salt stripes and true stripes are born the salt stripes go back to the ocean true stripes mate with white bass and out comes the Hybrid. If you haven't tried Stripers you should eat 1 they are delicious. God bless., Also too if you're into striper fishing try the concrete doors up from where you were fishing Jig inside and around.
Awesome video! Would love to see you do a special Salt Water trip to the Gulf for Redfish or Sea Trout. Or, a "Catch'n Cook" of any species you eat, like Crappie.
The sweet sweet sound of that drag!
As long as it's not a Drag Queen.

I found if my flukes or skirts are coming off the jig, carry a bottle of super glue and put some on the jig next to the head and slide the fluke or skirt right up to the head, it will stay there a very long time.
LOVE! to hear your drag scream as line is peeled off your reel.
Thanks for bringing us along
I saw fish swimmin up to Richards boat the other day, asking for his autograph !
This is a hidden gem 💎! Lol. Good stuff
His autograph is a hole in the upper lip 😉
They are asking if they can be in a video...

Hybrids were putting up a good fight. That drag was humming!
The most amazing thing about your videos, Gene, is the way you get the fish to lay still once you’ve netted them and laid them on the boat deck. That first fish you caught would have been flopping all over my boat tangling every single thing I had in the boat. Good stuff!

We would use a 6 inch pearl sassy shad, most of the time we would outfish the guides who were using live skipjacks🎣🥰
I enjoy fishing I go often but I don't catch much
More videos like this one please.
Just watched him pull in more stripes than I have in a year in one video. It's a like a super power!

Alright now that there rod yanked down was outrageous.
That rod arc bend.
That line screeched off the spool.
Good video Richard. That fluke is the real deal.
I trolled those same waters saturday with lures and caught nothing but big ole carp. Gene has the touch!
That's very similar to how I catch rockfish up here on the Chesapeake in Maryland. I just use heavier jigs though (3/8 and 1/2 ounce)
Richard Gene, love your videos, I've been watching you for quite some time now, I have learned so much, I would love to see a catch and cook on one of your episodes, thanks from Mn.
