I've got my "Little Brother", a friend of 30+years. We're closer than blood relatives, and have the same bad issues with certain members of our families
I am a person that absolutely needs solitude in my life. My best time is my alone time, however I am so grateful for the people in my life. I have brunch every Saturday with some pals. I have a wonderful partner who I spend most of the weekend with. I have a few nice connection and "lunch pals" at work. But, when the work day is finished, or the weekend is over, I feel WHOLE when I am finally alone and by myself, doing exactly what I want, with myself. Keep up the great work. It's awesome to hear your perspective. You and I are the same age, couple of white North Americans dudes, and it's really great to see someone online that I can identity with 👍
Well Travis, thank you for telling your story, I can share, I am 61 my best friend is 58, we are both men never married and no children, we have been friends since 1975 and we began our business in 1993 and then moved in together in 1999 and now we both work and life within our rural desert home each day, life is great and I am so thankful. Lance.
I have thought I had someone to talk to in the past, but they turned out to be false friends who checked out and only had their own shallow perspective and wanted to impose that on me and weren't really there in the long run.
Volunteering is also a great way to engage. There are lots of not for profits that need help. Rotary to the food pantry to Habitat and other local efforts.
I'm in the same boat just hit 47. Decided to move into a van. All those doubts about your legacy and everything pretty much is non-existent because living in a van gives you a sense of purpose of surviving and bettering yourself.I value my solitude and my peace more then I'll value any type of legacy.

Thank you for sharing Lance! I’m thankful you stopped by to watch and I wish you both the very best.

That happens for sure. I like to think that someone’s departure from your life makes room for more of the right kind of people.

Excellent advice! Thank you
@@TravisDoingLife - yes that's a good point -- "A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed" -- helping others can be a starting point for friendships

@@AmericanGlassInc I feel the pull of van life!

You’re a part of it for sure my friend. I’m honored!
We are here to experience
We shouldn't take others or ourselves too seriously
We should try our best and let go of the rest
Best advice ever 🙌🏼
I like being alone, although I learned I can lose perspective when I’m too far removed from others. It’s all about balancing things!
Yeah that’s a really good point. Balance is essential!
I find what I love doing and find a club. That can be from a book club to car club.
That is the way 🙌🏼
I pay a therapist, so I have someone to talk to.
Can’t go wrong with that 🙌🏼
