As a former trainer, that was a heck of a training job to have this horse ready to run his best race after 3 months at the classic distance at the top level!! Congratulations to Mr Dutrow on an outstanding job and congratulations to my favorite Irad who is the best rider!!!! I hope to see more of these two and btw, after the Whitney, I knew this horse would win the Classic!!!😊

That may be true but he did it easy and it’s not like he had to exert himself any more than that to get the win and secure it quite convincingly. So yea that may be a slow fraction, but just like fast fractions, the time is not everything but how you ran it. So let’s not get carried away, that last fraction wasn’t indicative of how truly talented this horse is. It was a great race and great win by all those involved in White Abarrio’s success. Enjoy the horse while we get to see him

Congratulation Rick Dutrow. You took White Abarrio over and uncovered what most thought, but never saw as a three year old what he was capable of doing. Winning big races. As much as I love Curlin son Cody's Wish he is hands down the 2023 Horse Of The Year.
This and the Whitney were incredible but I doubt he gets it over elite power and codys wish

Derma Sotogake got clowned on for a bad derby but look at how well a regular gate break does. I stand by Derma winning or placing second with a good start against the three year olds.

Quite a story for the trainer of this horse. Had failed in his quest to win the triple crown with Big Brown, got suspended, comes back to win the breeders cup classic with a horse that didn't show his full game under a trainer who ironically also ended up getting suspended
Dutrow received a 10 year suspension. I wish they had done that to Baffert after Medina Spirit's derby DQ.
It was mostly thanks to White Abarrio's owners for giving Rick the chance.
So glad they let it be a surprise who won!

Best Breeder’s cup races in years , both Friday and Saturday. Such fast first quarters !!! I was so moved by Chad Brown’s comments about the great Bobby Frankel. It very much moved me. I loved all the great filly and mare races too. There were so many great races this year.
This was by far the WORST in BC history.....quality of horses was ABYSSMAL

Other than proxy, no horse made up ground in stretch. Boring , predictable speed races races...

I’m jus thinking was it better for Irad to stay behind the front two till they straighten and then take him out to race past , 1 he would start his run later meaning not potentially burning out and 2 he would save 2 lengths instead of traveling wide. He won well enough in the end tho 😅

Euro turf horses don't do well on dirt. O'Brien has learned this after bringing the great Giant's Causeway and the great Galileo here for the 2000 and 2001 Classic and having them both beaten by the same American horse the great Tiznow. Two fabulous races to watch over and over.

If the race were run over ANY other track in america, PROXY wouldve won. He is the only horse all weekend who made up significant ground on an incredibly speed biased track...
Irad Ortiz is the best jockey in the world by far and it really isn’t close. He can win on anything unlike watching a Euro jockey that everyone raves about because he had the best horse by far.
Go with the Turf and how Ryan Moore schools IRAD. IRAD is a hack rider and gets on the 1,2,3 choice in 85% of his races and wins at 23%! He's on the post time favorite 40% of the time, shouldn't he win more? On a side-note when IRAD went to Asot 2 years ago he was suspended for reckless riding after 2 days!

Field was sooo crap , no Accangelo , MAge, forte, rocket ride ... whit abbrio was like 4-5 choice after these guys . Anyways congratulation on the win and taken care of business . The #5 horse was the 3rd choice in the derby . What a time to be alive, a trainer that served a TEN YEAR suspension for drugs comes back to win the richest race in the United States of America.
This race was always going to be anti-climactic without Arcangelo.

If White Abarrio was in his 2023 form and ran in last year's BCC, I think he would finish 3 or 4, probably behind Taiba. However, there's no doubt White Abarrio is the top dirt horse in the US and possibly the world right now.
As long as Baffert's horse didn't win...I'm happy. After what his horse did to Shared Belief years ago...elated to see his horse lose.

Shared Belief got screwed about as bad any horse but I don't know you can really put that on Baffert. Terrible stewarding who were scared to take down a winner in a big race

@@jackwoods9604 Not good enough off of only 2 graded stake wins against 3 year olds. He's never been truly tested against a talented field and this field had lots of talent there to test him. He would not have run down White Abarrio...he's no inexperienced 3 year old and that Japanese horse was cranked to run. Sorry to see him lose because they try so hard. They'll get it one year. Maybe next year.

Why is known horse doper Rick Dutrow even allowed to race horses? Just another black eye for horse racing in a year of punches to the face.
Because the "recreation" does not really care about the cheating in it. Why are Baffert, O'Neil, Pletcher or Asmussen still permitted to train anything? All of them have multiple serious doping infractions and all got slaps on the wrist every time. Drugtow should have been suspended for life, but the recreation known as horse racing is not to be taken seriously at this point. 🙂
@@rcg9573Dutrow shouldn’t have been suspended for life. Even a NY steward suspected the needles were planted. If you apologize and suck up, you can do no wrong in horse racing. If you fight and argue, they’ll do a lot to get rid of you. Such as CD arbitrarily extending the ban on Baffert in KY. Several out there doing worse than Dutrow or Baffert that haven’t been suspended.
A lot spoke up for Dutrow. His horses don’t break down and have never broken down, which tells the story.
Arcangelo would’ve destroyed them.
More impressed with Derma Sotogake who hasn t ran since May . He will win the Dubia world cup book it..Dutrows a cheater .

Really ? Did anyone see what they did to all the wild horses with the government in California? So they can monopolize the horse racing business ? People need to start researching , they rounded them up the government did with helicopters and thousands matter of fact they wiped out all wild horses for your entertainment.

If this is not proof of doping, I don’t know what is. Horse couldn’t even win low stakes races and then he takes over and wins G1 Whitney and now Bc Classic easily.
Isn’t doping. If he’s doping, let the drug tests speak. Rick Dutrow served his time, and I don’t think he will have another positive drug test again.
It’s because the horse has bad feet and Rick Dutrow is a real horseman. The horse always had a lot of talent, but wasn’t quite 100%. You should look up how many of Rick Dutrow’s horses have fatally broke down back in the 2000s compared to the others. He’s definitely a cut above the large majority in the business as far as being a horseman goes. He runs circles around someone like Pletcher.
I guess anything is possible but after being sat down for 10 years to come right back and dope...

Look, I think Dutrow deserved some time due to all the violations (13 were overages for legal drugs and the rest were non-medication related violations) but they did him very dirty. He originally had a 90 day ban and they moved it to a 10 year ban only because he appealed and ran his mouth. Then, an NY steward came out as a whistleblower in 2019 and stated that the State Wagering Authority planted the drugs in Dutrow’s barn. It went to the district attorney’s office and they swept it under the rug, so it appears that some funny things were going on concerning his case up in NY.
I think he’s only had like 4 horses die in his care over his career. One was a breakdown during a race, one a heart attack, one a post op complication, and one a breakdown during a workout. If he was doping that badly, you would have thought he would of had a lot more breakdowns like some of these other trainers.
So yeah, my money is that all of his horses are running clean now. White Abarrio has also blossomed. He has gained weight and just looks so much better than he did in his previous trainer’s care. He runs like he looks.
