Honestly at least in my area we have so many dashers that if you aren’t platinum, you HAVE to schedule your dashes and it is a struggle sometimes to get a spot!
I’ve done earn by time a few times and the one thing I really do not like is that it often takes me to areas I don’t want to go. The mileage is often much farther than I want to be going and I think in 3 hours I ended up with $5 in tips. There were more apartments, difficult drop off areas, etc. I may try it again but I think it’s best for filling up the dead period when food delivery isn’t higher paying like during the dinner rush.
what is often missed when talking about earn by hour, you get paid ONLY for that fraction of an hour actually spent on the delivery. An $18 an hr offer that takes 15 minutes ( quarter of hour) earns $4.25 cents . Not that you can decline a cheap offer on earn by time
Making the experience even better is to raise the overall offers and money amounts per offer. They need to learn to use the terminology "DRIVER PAID TO WAIT" and create a new delivery driver feature out of it. Minimum .25 cents per minute wait time should be standard for all delivery drivers across all platforms. Someone else beside the delivery driver needs to pay for the down time that's being waited on for the orders to be made ready for delivery. This is the elephant in the room. Tighten up the wait time so drivers can grab, go and deliver on to their next orders and pick-ups. Stop wasting drivers precious delivery time waiting for free on their own dime. Stop the madness!!!!!
What I am beginning to see is that restaurants staff the drive-thru and counter with way to many staff and then have only 1 or two employees do ALL the call in orders....Uber orders AND DD orders making order 10-15 minutes PAST the "time the order is done".... it is now routine to see all the drive thru orders DONE....all the walk in orders...DONE....and the DD drivers are STILL waiting for their orders How about ALL the staff do the orders in the order they received them...... and not have counter/drive thru staff doing nothing while the "online order" staff/ people are inundated with orders.
Seriously!! & the restaurants “sorry for your wait, we’re just really busy”, as if, I could also not be busy on another delivery where I don’t have to wait. It is equivalent to us coming into their job & ask them to work for free! It’s so bad sometimes. I’ve legit waited for around 45 mins in 3 different stops, on a 4 hour shift. Someone needs to do something about it!
Depends on your market area. Like in Honolulu here, all of the late night bars and fast food places are open and all of the grave shift workers are ordering throughout the night. For me, the grave to early morning shifts are the best because there’s only a few dashers up and delivering
I just wish the pay was a little better base pay because I enjoy doing it I like the freedom of it but I just wish it was back the way it used to be when people were actually making a decent living
Door dash don't care either if they screw you on pay or if you're getting deliveries in the posted minutes they are saying for time est for a dash I waited for almost a hour when it said 1 to 3 minutes wait time
Hey Mike I was wondering if my DoorDash status is any good. I only do it on Thursday after work And Friday,Saturday. I’m located in The Dalles,Oregon. Acceptance rate 85% > Completion rate 100% > Customer rating 5.0 > On time or early 97% > Deliveries last 30 days 73 Lifetime deliveries 68
Yesterday,I had a shop n deliver at restaurant depot.customer wanted like 8 items for his restaurant.ive wasted my whole day trying to finds items, and some of the items was out of stock.just takes too much time.😢😭
What is your Tier status? Are you only taking orders that make sense? I don't think I could make 85$ if I worked a whole day. I work the evenings and can barely make 50$, most times it's 30-50$. My earnings have gone down, and I think it's because people are ordering less. My acceptance rate hovers around 30%, I won't take low paying orders, they have to be more than a dollar a mile. I'm not killing my car but I'm making less than I used to. It is to the point where I'm looking for other ways to make money, maybe even a W2.
I like doing earn by time In Pittsburgh, Since I am on an E-bike. Plus I get rather close orders from the business like Baum's Wendy that take for every to get an order out so gives me time between stops to charge.
Yo Mike I'm in Pittsburgh also and the highest earn by the hour pay I ever seen and also took was on a Saturday night after 1:00 am and the per hour pay was 27.50 that went on till 3:00 am then it dropped to 25.25 till about 4:00. I crushed it that night and that was about first possibly the second week of September, I know the Pitt U students just started classes that was their first full week back.
Can we get a video on multi app after the tiers update for doordash? Like now we are limited on how many offers we can deny if you want to stay platinum or gold. So how do we do multi app effectively?
I make almost $200 a day on earn by time as a platinum dasher. Whether that plays into it or not, I make good money with eight hours or less a day a mainly less than eight hours
Walgreens merchant has been dealing with some shop and deliver scams. I do not want to repeat what people are doing. If it's on the internet if you know that's fine. But moving forward Walgreens is going to be reformatting their shopping deliver service they're mostly going to be picking the orders out for the drivers.
@@shadowchu419 actually I talked to somebody that worked for Walgreens and he said it's nothing new really they've been doing that for years. People diving in the garbage cans and taking discarded receipts and returning items that they didn't pay for. Quite possibly in some areas, It is the shady dashers.
I live in between two state colleges in ct and I do the dinner rushes during the week and make $80 to $100 in 3 to 4 hours and then it varies on the weekends
It depends on your market, I’m in Orange County California so it’s very saturated here, multi app helps with cherry picking better orders, or getting more orders overall.

For me drive by time sees $12,50 for 11.5 miles. Takes at least 45 minutes. Doesnt take lo e to get my 2 declines in. I am finding UE much better since i can decline so many garbage offers
If you want tips make the customer feel important if you have a problem with wait time tell the customer what’s going on with the order the want to know where their order is and most of them understand Driving like a jackrabbit is not going to get you anymore tips could get you in a accident. Keep the customer informed and use your brain no one owes you anything.
When I do earn by hour I just decline anything that is super far away. The more orders im landing on someone’s door in that hour the higher probability I have or collecting tips
What do you mean by super far away? I'll get several orders per session that are 10 miles away on EBT, I have to take one of them or else get booted. The whole time I'm driving back I'm just upset.
I never get waitlisted on dashlink. Any time Im notified about it early morning It says waitist closed exact same time. Anyone else facing this issue? Is there a specific time waitlist opens other than specific time ?
Not true... I get ripped off on earn by time. If I accept a stacked order and unassign the second order to pick up after waiting 10 plus minutes... it takes me 45 minutes from accept to drop off... got paid 6$ and some change... anyone else experience this?
Earn by hour is EARN BY THE MINUTE. PERIOD. It worked for me in north central Florida because the delivery distanced was usually long distances. Any other times I've found it's a waste. I don't like being forced to to take all orders. And, I found that's how DD gets the no tip orders done. No thanks

Peak pay in my area is only overnight hours.
When all dasher have stopped dashing for the night.
Usually between 9:30 pm and 10:00 pm.
Peak Pay in my Market starts usually at 11:30 pm
Yes, and for me it's not worth personal injury or hitting a deer. 😢

especially when these fast food chains now wait till the dasher gets there to make the orders since dashers ping ponging low paid orders.
am i wrong ? the better the customer tips ..the less doordash pays as base pay!!

Walgreens, CVS mcD, BK, Taco Bell, Wendy's, White Castle, IHOP, Denny's, speedway, 7-Eleven

I'd be a happy camper if there were a $5 base for anything under 2 miles.
Me too I really miss being able to do this for a career
they pay less base pay the better the customer tips..such bs

I'm at about 60% shopping orders. Yesterday all my 8 orders were shopping.
I prefer dash by order so that way I know what to accept and what to decline without having to worry about declining one in the early hour
Have been dashing for a year and very very rarely get $2 per mile normally $75 per mile if $1
Same here I live in charlotte great area for dashing and rarely get $2 per mile you’ll be waiting all day to get that lol

The best offers are large order offers! 🎉 Too bad they are so rare. 😩

Even on earn by time they still give you a slotted amount of time that you need to complete the order
I only do EBT until 100ar and in 3500 deliveries i have never gotten shop order. I go as fast as I can to get more tips per active hour.
