Kawhi Leonard is terrifying the rest of the NBA right now. They know what he can be in the playoffs but the Clippers’ signing of Russell Westbrook changes things. This is a look at what the Clippers’ future holds this season.

Russ is a minimum contract, the clips haven't got slasher like him.
Russ Al ready play with PG and PG doing his best season with him, but PG was injured during play off against Portland.
Hé qualifying wizard for play off with a Big run during the end of regular season.
Stop this disrespect, he's not a shooter, but his energy, his speed will be a good thing for clips.
If the clips défend hard and have rebound, Russ will run for lay UP or find a shooter in corner, the clips have lots of shooting not like Lakers.

I think this just proves that 2018-19 Raptors squad deserves more credit than just Kawhi. They had enough depth and consistency to win without Kawhi during the regular season to buy him time for his playoff run. On paper the Clippers look deep but not as deep as that Raptors squad. The west is tougher than ever with KD and Kyrie in it now. I think the Clippers probably have enough breathing room to loose a little and rest up Kawhi but ultimately they don't want to find themselves in the play-in tournament (which they've lost before).

The difference between the 2019 Raps and the current Clippers is that the Raps DID NOT NEED Kawhi to make the playoffs. They were already a consistent 50+ win team. They brought in Kawhi to give them the juice for a deep playoff run... and that's exactly what he gave them. I keep watching teams willing to mortgage their entire future for one or two superstars, surround them with scrubs or short-timers and expect them to CARRY the team for the entire season and then all the way through the playoffs to a title. It's not realistic. I think the Raps did it right. FIRST build a team that will get you there, THEN get the guy who will push you over the finish line.
The NBA is a superstar's league, but basketball is still a team game.... and over a long season and a long post-season, 5 very good players will always beat 1 great player.

Kawhi is a master of load management, lol. Assuming they're equally competitive, Kawhi's also soft-spoken and introverted, and that's going to influence his dominance and image differently from MJ. Westbrook is legit a 6th man of the year this season. What are you talking about 😂 Turn off ESPN and actually watch basketball. He isn't supposed to be the star on lakers AD was! It's not Westbrooks fault, it's AD's because he was always injured.

@@CoolGuy-hh4lg Westbrook's turnovers and lack of a jump shot definitely hurt the team. Do you watch basketball? It looked disgusting at times. Some turnovers you can't help, but the ones where he could control it, it looked like he didn't know how to play basketball. I'm a Thunder fanm I love Russ. When he's on he's on, but don't try to completely put the blame on A.D. it's a combination of ADs Injuries and lack of aggression and Russ's streaky play. LeBron really at this stage In his career should be able to relax and be a 2nd or 3rd option on a team. And Depth. Damn it, depth was an issue.

As you said the Spurs are the OGs of resting their players, even the Spurs and the players being rested took issue with Kawhi not playing, tony Parker spoke out also not just vanvleet. I’m a Philly fan I’ve recognized that Kawhi has a similar resume’ to the best players other than playing time and totals. He’s definitely a postseason demon and I would rest him as much as he wants, I believe he’s been correct the entire time. I wanted to add that even the OGs of resting guys weren’t happy with the amount of rest Kawhi demanded at the beginning of his prime. I think maybe if Jordan had the same luxuries he would be in another stratosphere than he already is. Clutch shooting good defense and a midrange game doesn’t constitute a Jordan comparison even with 3-5 rings. The career totals aren’t there in every category and I’m sure Jordan would’ve won more with constant rest on teams that go on deep playoff runs regardless of his presence. Loved the video and hope it puts some respect on Kawhi’s name. Yeah I’d pick him over bron in a best of 7 finals series.

Unfortunately he is made of glass and the Spurs were right about his degenerative condition. The dude is 31 and with his health history doesn't have much longer of prime play. He could have been one of the greats but so could alot of players. Either way, the NBA isn't afraid of a player that misses that much time on a team that hasn't proven themselves capable despite the talent they have. Hell, it kind of shows how talented the Raptors were the year they won with Kahwi, because the Clips have underperformed horribly even when he is healthy.
