  • We know that daily intensive blow drying can drive moisture from the cortex making the hair so dry and brittle, it breaks off. On the other hand, hair is in its weakest state when it's wet. The outer protective cuticle layer remains partially raised until the hair dries so air drying leaves the hair unprotected and subject to possible damage for a much longer than blow drying. Then what's less damaging to hair Blow drying or Air drying. Let's find out

    Interesting to know that blow drying is not that damaging and is time saving . That is probably the reason blow dryers are still in practice. Thank you explaining.

    I bought a cheap blow dryer from Walmart that works fine. But would it be better to invest in something with more heat and speed settings?

    • @DrSajjadKhan
      @DrSajjadKhan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Lance luckily even good blow dryers are not expensive. Still you can use the present one, just keeping six inches away from hair and the airstream should feel comfortable on the back of your hand.

  • @tonypujara8426
    @tonypujara8426 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Hi, I’ve been told that one should always finish a blow dry with a cold setting on a hair as this closes the cuticle and helps to stop frizz. Is this true?

    • @DrSajjadKhan
      @DrSajjadKhan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Tony, yes the cold hair is good. Luckily warm air stream which feels comfortable on the back of your hand is equally good. Luckily you can enjoy warm air in winters, without any worries.

    • @yelenatsytsyn

      It’s best too because the air flow is more precise and with out it the hair will go all over making it more frizzy.

    • @dra.acostacrousset9755
      @dra.acostacrousset9755 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not. There is not. Because what the Study said is that if you have wet hair for several hours hair is more prone to breakage. You need to Dry it fast. But you also can use a fan. Just need to be sure hair is not longer than 4 hours in total wet (including wash time). As less as possible
