They guy on guitar 🎸 wrote the song and they are the original singers This was their last time the lady judith was sitting because had a stroke But wasn't missing out on sing it for last time she has now passed This is our history in a song the good the bad and the ugly parts Yet we've survived it all to build what we call Australia 🇦🇺 today Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
I migrated to Australia in 1978 from Malaysia and have loved this country with my whole being. I am the mother and grandmother to 2 generations of Australians. We don’t differentiate between races but we are Australians…all One🇦🇺❤️
Loved your goosebumps reaction Dyce...I was born and grew up in the UK. In 1970 my wife and I along with our four young children emigrated to Australia. We are now proud Australians and this is our home, even when my wife and I have returned to the UK several times we do not call the UK home we love Australia it is our home. My wife and I are now in our 80s and we have 14 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren all born here in Australia.
Great reaction! They were a group and had many, many hit's over 60 odd years. They wrote most of their own songs. Unfortunately we lost Judith a few years ago so of course, the band is no more. Thank you!
Co-written by Bruce Woodley on the Acoustic , and Dobe Newton of the Bushwakers in 1988 ,the Seekers first did this in 1993 when they reformed after breaking up in 1968 . They originally formed in 1962 , and had many world wide hits
Brings a tear to my eye, every time. This spirit of Australia in this song reflects the identity of this country so well, its history. We need more Seekers and this humanity in the face of our mutual struggle through adversity in life. It brings people together in hope. Any Seekers song is good. I love Georgy Girl, anything at all by them. 💞
React to John Farnham singing "Help live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra". Then watch your aussie audience grow. Also another patriotic reaction is "Qantas advertisement, I still call Australia home". Great reaction seekers have been around since the early 60's, all retired now.
Next up "I still call Australia home" Another love song to our country. They made the song into a Tourism commercial for Qantas, but it's the same song first written by Peter Allen in 1980 th-cam.com/video/-niyYHexMTo/w-d-xo.html
"I Am Australian" (or "We Are Australian") is a popular Australian song written in 1987 by Bruce Woodley of the Seekers and Dobe Newton of the Bushwackers. Its lyrics are filled with many historic and cultural references, such as to the "digger", Albert Namatjira and Ned Kelly, among others. Its popularity has made it one of a number of Australian patriotic songs considered as alternatives to the current national anthem, "Advance Australia Fair". It is commonly taught in primary schools. In the years since the song's release, there have been calls for it to become Australia's national anthem. Quoted from Wikipedia. Bruce Woodley was the guitarist and male singer in the video clip. Being also the co-author of the song he did sing it like he meant it.
It would be easier to be a patriotic Australian if I did'nt cringe everytime I hear Advance Australia fair. This song is a far better representation and should be the National Anthem.
Thanks for a great reaction to such an emotional song. The seekers were actually very successful recording artists in Aus and UK back in the 60s with a string of top 10 hits, and also charted several times in the US. As others have mentioned, this was their farewell performance because Judith Durham had had a stroke and sat through the performance. Her haunting voice is still stunning, though.
Great reaction you could next go with John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes singing your the voice . And for some of our traditional country. Slim Dusty's lights on the hill .
FAREWELL to a huge, popular, world-wide career as a musical group for many years. This song is an unofficial anthem of Australia. This is an insightful comment from you. Check out Australia's GOAT singer, John Farnham. Make sure the video is a LIVE in concert one. John is a singing genius !
We don't write patriotic anthems. We write love songs to our country.
Well said.. 👍
100% agree.
🙌 Amen to that one, my brother. I'll take this over the national anthem any day of the week.
I always love seeing people's reaction when Judith starts singing. RIP Judith.

The writer is the first singer, Bruce Woodley.

This was the last performance by the Seekers Judith was not well but wanted to be at last show. She has since passed on. RIP Judith we miss you❤
I’m not overly patriotic, but this one got me 😂
It was their farewell performance after being a group on and off for 50 years.
Judith had a stroke around that time and she was not willing to go on.
Oh now I see. Sad to hear she's gone. Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!!!
So sad to see them getting so old.. But amazing to the end.
Could you react to sidnie christmas singing tomorrow on BGT2024 she is amazing
