Hell march is rather the name of specific video clips showing military parades from different countries than the name of the event itself. Military parades in Poland take place every year on August 15 in Warsaw on the occasion of Polish Army Day. The purpose of this is to show the society from whose taxes the army is maintained and how its money is spent. In addition, this event serves as a promotion of the armed forces and encourages young people to take an interest in the military and perhaps join the service in the future. Such parades are events that increase patriotism in society and are an opportunity to keep the memory of fallen heroes alive. For a potential enemy, they act as a deterrent against possible plans to initiate hostile actions.

13. Posterunek (eng. 13th Precinct or 13th Police Station) was a great Polish series, produced by Canal+ from 1997 to 2000. It was a first sitcom in new Poland, with new "American" flow and ridiculous situational jokes. Main character is Cezary Cezary, a dumb constable in the worst police station in Warsaw, played by great actor, Cezary Pazura. Because of his funny stupidity and jokes (revolve around racism, sexism, vodka, whores and huge disrespect for chef and clients), Cezary always makes problems for himself and other policemen. It's like The Office US, but with no mockumentary thread (funfact: we have a great own version - The Office PL!). 13 Posterunek (1997-2000), Miodowe Lata (Polish "The Honeymooners"; 1998-2004) and Świat według Kiepskich (eng. "The Lousy World"; 1999-2022 - the longest comedy in the whole world!) was the best three Polish comedies from late 90's. Canal+ shot only 2 seasons of 13. Posterunek (you can watch it all on YT, unfortunately with no subtitles), but that was enough to create a legend, which build up a big career for Cezary Pazura and other actors. The actor Warren Mitchell who plays Alf was vehemently anti racist. The whole idea of the programme was to mock (as we Brit’s say ‘take the piss out of) racists and racism. Because this is typical (ironic) British humour its actual meaning and purpose is often missed by non UK culture.

Alf Garnett was a character created to mock racists, Winston (called Marigold (after rubber gloves for washing dishes, and intimating that he was gay) and the Indian or Pakistani shopkeeper (called Sabu by Alf (after a famous India actor from the 20th century)) were both used and part of mocking a large number of stereotype racist words in common use in the Uk at that time. Alf is played as a royal family supporting conservative, whereas the actor, Warren Mitchell, was the opposite, a died in the wool socialist and all around really good man. The older series was 'Till death us do part", this clip comes from the later "In sickness and in health."

My Polish is not great but I think his name is pronounced Ch-ay-suave (Czesław) the Cz has a sound like a ch/j in English. Nieman I think is self-explanatory. The name of the song I think is pronounced Jiv-knee Yest T(h)en Shiv-wat. The Dz sounds like a hard J)G the Ł is pronounced like a "w". The Polish word "Ten" has a very light "h" making it similar to "then" but not as harsh. Anyhow, hope that helps you somehow lol!!!

My father was a police officer in the north of England in the 1950's, and he would often say that there were people living only 30 miles from us, whose accents were so different, he could not understand them. It is amazing how many varients of the English Language there are, and how different thy are.

Im from Adelaide, South Australia.. South Australia was founded as a Non Convict State, you couldn't even be an ex-convict, for the first 10 years of settlement. So we speak a slightly more "proper" English, as a lot of us are all from UK descendants.. My Mum came here from the UK in 1956.. I worked in the Eastern States (Melbourne, Victoria) for 7 years and was constantly asked if I was English!! But yes, we also have "Aussie Bogans", just like everywhere else..

At the beginning of his shows Al will spend time talking to members of the audience. He is very good at remembering people's names and what they do etc so that isn't part of the script and each show will vary in these interactions. He is still touring with his stand up but he does other things as well, most notably a podcast about WWII.

Oh, and the 1.5 miles in 15 minutes is just the British Army 'Basic Fitness Test' - even a chef has to pass that. It's not part of SAS selection. The Combat Fitness Test (they may have changed the name) is 8 miles in an hour and a half with kit and rifle. But again that's just a regular army test.
