Tried this tonight and it worked fantastic. Came right out easily. Sliced it up and fried it with onions and butter and garlic. So nice! Cheers!

Tried it every way over the years and have to say bashed paua is more tender than this method. However whichever way you choose to do it the paua (and any seafood) will be more tender if you kill it after measuring and before putting in your bag. Just hold flesh side up and thump once or twice with a rock or the back of a heavy knife. Really makes a difference.

Chur bro, glad I watched this video, followed your instructions, sliced the muscle bit up and cooked it hot and fast, squeezed a bit of the seaweed out of the gut sack and cooked it up it was bloody good tucker. All the other videos I watched they throw half of it away, what a waste.

Can you please elaborate on what part of the pear / gut sack you can eat?
why are some green and others cream coloured?
I never knew you could eat it and would love to try it out.
    Cheers!

I tried my first one tonight, I cooked the muscle bit separately in case I didnt like it, it was a green one. I opened the sack up to see what was in it and its just mashed up seaweed, I rinsed most of it out and cooked the sack it tasted awesome give it a crack

@@jonnywaselectric yeah right, iv tried the cream coloured ones (not bad) even tho i dont know what it is considering they only eat seaweed.. lol
Surely someone will come up with a mean recipe and make a quick vid about it!
When i decide not to eat the creamy guts ect, i save them for fertilizers, less waste is best aye
      Chur!

@@MrPepeyanez I was excited to find mine today, I am in Australia and they are very hard to find where I am, I was looking for crabs in a rock pool for bait and found it hiding in a crack, heaps of people would have walked past it and not noticed it, lucky I had my knife
