Totally agree. I'm an A320 Captain and I've been using the ThrottleTek Airbus throttle for a few years. It is a huge part of my sim hardware. I too use it for maintaining proficiency in V1 cuts and other maneuvers. Makes sim checks a piece of cake. After 32 years as an airline pilot, having a simulator in my house is absolutely awesome. Beats the heck out of the "chair flying" we used to have to do to go over maneuvers! Great video!
Wow!!! This is truly an adult presentation and conversation. When I grow up, I would like to own a Throttletek A320 Quadrant. Until then, all I can do is dream & drool.
Gotta say (and i know i will get hate for this), for the Fact that it would cost me around 1450 Euro incl. Taxes and Fees, PLUS S&H for a "Real Feel", it looks way to much like a thrown together Tincan. The Covers on Top are not aligned, there´re Gaps everywhere and the Heads of the very cheap looking, self tapping Screws are just sitting on Top of everyting instead of being countersunk like in the original Model. Don´t know anything about the Handling and Feeling of it, but it just looks way to Cheap for a 1500+ Euro Addon. And i just read Throttletek´s Terms & Conditions and it seems like, they deny any form of Responsibilty, as soon as the Package left their Building....No Shipping Insurance...No Responsibilty for lost or damaged Packages, no "Refund for any Reason" unless they can keep a whopping 30% as "Fees" and if you have to send it back for Technical Failures, YOU pay another 2 Rounds of Shipping for Repairs, even if the Problem is THEIR Fault. And an absolute No-Go for me is, they removed PayPal as a Payment Method, so there´s no security for me, as a Customer, that i will get my Product OR my Money back, in case something happens. (Why exactly SHOULD a Company even stop offering PayPal,. if they´re Honest and stand behind their Products?!) Neither this Addon, nor the Company behind it, has an "Honest" Feel to it. Just my personal Opinion!
Man, congrats for this great piece of hardware. In the past I've purchased both, the Throttletek B737 and B767 TQ and I can't be more happy. Roberto is a very nice guy and provided me with an outstanding after-purchase support. Happy and safe flights Cpt! ;)
looks nice but for that price I expect a proper calibration and that both thrust levers give the same output signal at the same position. In this video you can nicely see that this isn't the case. When on approach the right engine is always running lower. Would be interesting to see the drift in between the 2 throttles in a slow motion movement of the throttles and a view on the throttles in the plane. Same issues as the TCA stick
I concur that. Both levers when moved together should indicate the same position in the simulator. This is a big no no, I bet the cheaper a320 levers do that better than this.
too bad it still doesn’t fully model the real A320 thrust quadrant (engine switches and spoiler arm)… no no for me, especially with that expensive price.
My same thought. If I am going to spend 1200 bucks on this, it better have the exact functionality as the real thing, otherwise, I will just get the 2k one.
Bro, you keep adding gear like TQ, side stick, MCDU, MCP etc… pretty soon you’ll end up with a legit real life physical cockpit SIM like me. LOL (mine is a 737NG)
Hi captain ! And thanks for this video. I also have the V3 version of the Throttletek which i love and use it all the time. But with the Fenix, I can't have the full reverse and I don't understand why. It works great with the FBW 320 Neo, but not with the Fenix even if I calibrated it. Do you have the same problem? Thanks
Just about thinking to build up such a system. But how do you build it? Put you the whole box on your desk? Do you have a special desk with a "hole" in it where the throttle box fits in? Can you give me some hints please or send me a picture how you solved this? And which sidestick are you using? I would appreciate it very much. Thanx in advance. Regards from Austria.
Still made of plexiglass? My throttle tech 737 throttle is very fragile. I bought mine years ago. Have they improved on build materials and stability? The shipping was outrageous to USA.
I’d really like to see something of better quality than the TCA but still scaled down to fit on a desk. For those of us that need to use our PCs for both work and sim, this is simply just too big. Also, I picked up some 3D printed inserts for the TCA that solve the insanely stupid equidistant detent issue. Thrustmaster very obviously did it that way to save a couple bucks on plastic parts as the flap handle uses the exact same part.
@v1-Simulations I know this is a year-old video, but I want to pull the trigger on a higher-quality Airbus Throttle and I want to ask you want do you think about the Throttletek, I couldn't find any video reviews or anything on youtube for this. Any thoughts?
Hi, I have some questions. Did you try it in abnormal procedures. For example in double HYD failure??? And the trim wheel is moving during the flight, like in the real airplane??? Finally someone has tried it in toliss software?? Thanks
How has this throttle held up over time? Ive heard that the wiring and electronics inside are pretty cheap. Do you know if this may be true? Im really wanting this for my home cockpit build, which fabrication is almost done now. Just have to put the final paint finish
I generally don't put too much weight on product reviews done by youtubers who've received the product for free. But thanks for showing it. It sadly misses some important features.. It's not cheap and it's not very realistic. IMHO.
How is your desktop sim hardware set up? Do you use any kind of mounts for this specifically, as it’s quite a bit larger than my current TCA Airbus quadrant
hello, the video is very good, could you make one explaining how to configure the tiller of cat3design in the fenix? I have it and I can't get it to work with the fenix, thank you very much
Super cool piece of flight sim tech and your excitement about it is contagious. But, are you really supposed to be "hand flying" an Airbus. Just saying....
lol thank you! And YES absolutely, hand flying is a skill that without practice and relying on automation will actually hurt your piloting abilities. Every single trip I do at least 1 flight with no automation during approach and landing.
Good morning , I contacted Throttle Tech to inquire about buying one of these. A gentleman from from the company website asked for payment to his personal account. Is that normal? Thanks, Matt .
It is, Roberto from throttletek makes each one of these by order. So the process is a bit unconventional. There are several other users in my discord that have purchased as well if you would like to see their reviews.
1200USD? I love flight simming and all but nahh. Would be more tempted to make my own since I own a 3D printer and know a thing or 2 about electronics and wiring them up. Would be an interesting project for sure altho I already have a different kind of project going on.
I would rather pay 2k for the realist one he mentioned or the $300 for the TCA. that middle ground doesn't sound so middle ground as he says. At $800 perhaps, but $1200 is too much.
I was debating whether i should buy this……i have their 737 throttle quadrant and it’s amazing. I’m guessing u feel the same with the A320 box? Can u do a video walking thru the bindings in msfs?
I will be showing this on streams coming up soon and yes I will go over bindings, but I can say with confidence as of right now in MSFS and the Fenix A320 it works great. Same with Xp11 which is even easier to bind
@@V1Sim is there hardware support for a MCDU though? I have to wonder about what Fenix are allowed to do with regards to supporting hardware because of the agreement they have with ProSim as in that agreement they can’t support home cockpits.
