    X4: Foundations is the latest title in the popular X series of space simulation / sandbox games, played as action games from a first-person perspective in a living breathing universe, with TRADE FIGHT BUILD THINK as the common tag-line. X4: Foundations is unique in its depth, simulating an entire universe of NPC ships and stations, forming a realistic economy. It consists of a huge universe, simulated from the bottom up. Hundreds of stations, and thousands of ships, trade goods among themselves. Prices change based on supply and demand; resources are mined and processed in several stages. This economy is linked directly to the simulation of major conflicts in a universe with dynamically-acting factions. Every player decision can dramatically change the future of the game universe. Step in and live your very own space adventure!

    I opened this file up in the most recent version (6.10) just to check if there are any differences and here is my report:
    - For starting credit balance: Completely unchanged from what is presented here.
    - For starting personnel budget: Different starting score (1000) as you note. The points per seminar are slightly increased and the limits massively increased across the board. Also, you get points per 4/5 star manager/pilot you have as well as some points per service crew or marine you have, checked on load. So loading a game with a lot of high value people working for you simultaneously gets you points.
    - For starting knowledge budget: Completely uncharnged from what is precented here.
    - For starting relations budget: ALMOST completely unchanged. Only changes are that +20 and 29-30 ceremonies after the first are worth 25/75pts and have a limit of 250/525pts, respectively, so a slight buff there.

    JK Ninja to the rescue yet again!
    Thanks, Bud! Your videos are super helpful! You really helped me kickoff my Pirate career, and I have been capping everything I can while maintaining good relations almost everywhere. Now I have to jump into Split space and help them out a bit, which my fleet of L Destroyers and M Frigates wouldn't mind being a part of.
    Also, am loving the station build missions, as they bring in tons of cash!
    Thanks, JK! Keep up the good work!

    Dude! Again, thank you for this valuable information! I (probably we, as I know a bunch of others are looking for similar videos) really appreciate the work you do!

    Or do what I do whish is the Custom Start but without any budget ties.
    I started and restarted this game so many times, I hated doing the Player HQ over and over. So now I start with the Player HQ and can put it in any sector I so wish. Same applies to the research. Which you need to complete or you can't move the player HQ.
    Then. The X4 universe is your preverbal lobster.
    If you want to be an opulent, mega rich trader. Become one.
    If you want to be an evil and cunning War lord. Then why not?
    If you want to alienate yourself with every race bar the pirates, then do so. Make every relationship -30 with the major factions (Not the Pirate ones!) and sh1t will hit the fan PDQ. Just make sure your HQ is in a free sector or it won't last that long in Argon Prime... For instance.
    Or you just want to restart the whole game again, but with a half decent "S" or "M" class ship instead of that horrid tin bucket you're given and maybe a tad more cash. Then do so.
    Or. Start off with no ship. Just you in a space suit and see how far that gets you 8-))...
    Enjoy.

    Like everything else, this is dense and complicated.
    I love X4's crunch, it's like chewing glass... but like, when you're good at chewing glass! not the first time you try and go to the hospital...

      I've chewed and swallowed glass, and if you know what kind of glass you can get away with doing it with you won't need a hospital visit.
      That being said, I quit after a few times because it sent me to the dentist. :P

    Remember you could open the script in X3 and just add wedge, was great for learning the game.

    I have started to play a bit with the custom start. Load a save in which I had 85 billions, save, check the budget for the start, about 10kk budget (I might be missing something in editing the start)...plus I could not get my Asgard in the new start. So...my variant of the custom start...namelly a save slot reserved for the moment in which my Asgard roll out from my shipyard...is a better option, imo. Even so, I think I'm gone wait for ES to sort out the mess they call the "more precise calculation for OOS battles" in 4.10, because, given how things are atm...damn.

    Ive been playing the beta for months and was wondering what actually increased the budget, because it wasnt really my trade rank or net worth that kept increasing it any more. Supply ships? WHY?

    • @JKNinja
      @JKNinja  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      😄 Luckily supply ships only have a limit of 1

    Hi there,
    I remembered this video as I'm preparing for a new start with 5.0.
    I have a starting budget of 130mil, wanted to increase that, and just found out that I'm already somewhere around the max-cap.
    I wanted to go full pirate (don't buy anything), so I need a wharf for S/M ships, because they are nearly impossible to capture in decent numbers.
    Seems that is not possible, because the Blueprint for the module is over 200mil, and it can't be hacked either.
    Do you see a solution???

    • @JKNinja
      @JKNinja  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want a wharf you are going to need to be friends with someone to buy the blueprints. You can hack production modules but will need the prints for weapon, engines, and all the other equipment. If you want to stay RP friendly I'd suggest "allying" with the Teladi, they are the most dubious of the factions and likely to work with pirates

      @@JKNinja Thanks for your quick reply.
      You are right, there are several things that I can't steal.
      And I also can't get them upfront, because my starting budget is far to low, even when maxed out.
      So I sadly have to rethink my goal for my next playthrough.

  • @ynemey1243
    @ynemey1243 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do the limits imply that there is an absolute maximum value to each category? For example, 200M credits for the money budget? Or can it always be increased by continuing to play?

    • @JKNinja
      @JKNinja  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everything has a "limit" value, you'll see it at the end of each line

    • @ynemey1243
      @ynemey1243 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JKNinja That limit means it's an absolute limit across all playthroughs or just for a single playthrough?

      absolute

    • @JKNinja
      @JKNinja  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      patch 4.20 changes a few things with custom start, but I didn't see anything about budget values so they should still be the same

    • @Koshea69
      @Koshea69 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seem to be pretty close but not exactly the same. I did discover you can use custom game starts to increase your custom game start budget by just starting new games. For example buying an L ship. If you have the funds in your custom game start to start with an L ship it counts as buying, so start a game with an L ship, get 1.8mil credit and start again till that catagory is capped, same with all the station modules and such. I seem to have capped at about 103 mil starting budget with the only catagory I can't cheese being the 1mil transactions, those I guess you gotta earn the honest way.

    i just use cheathappen for the beginning fund that allow me to build a energy station, make the game much more enjoyable while didn't ruin anything
