All my favourite of this year's entries are in your top 10, which is nice. My actual favourite is "Parole dette male", which just goes very hard for me. After that, I really like "Mare di guai", "Tango" (yay Tananai), "Il bene nel male", "Cenere" and, ofc, "Due vite'. "Splash" is good, but to me it doesn't match "Musica leggerissima"
I am happy to see your full list. I'm glad that RAI was reasonable about the whole copyright issue. This is a clear case of fair use. Enjoyed your comments as usual. I do have my Sanremo list, but as I had only a short amount of time to digest 28 songs, I didn't hear the studio version of each, and my knowledge of Italian is enough to have an idea of what they're singing about, but still not excellent enough to claim that I understood every lyric from every song. I'll need time in that, and thus I feel like I'll return to it once the others NFs are done. I have a rough outline, and a solid average. Not major disagreements here. Spoiler: My winner is Lazza, but I have most of the songs that are high on your list quite high too. There's an issue of *how high*, but *very high* nonetheless. I have Tananai in top 5. I can also see some in the middle shifting places.
It's a shame that I lost my comments on the video I had up but fair enough. Always want to have videos that I'll come back to in years to come rather than just get *something* up for the sake of it. Every year in San Remo, the list I put up on this channel ends up changing quite a lot, quite quickly. There's little between my no.1 and no.2 this year and I like them in very different ways. Tbf, the last time Madame competed, I ended up moving her up to my winner a couple of months later so I'm not *completely* ruling that out again. My average this year in San Remo is 6.61, which is, of course excellent. It's a step-up from last year (6.48) but considerably below 2021's almost all-time great rating (7.21). Glad we both have each other's winners in the top five. For what it's worth, I think Lazza was clearly the choice for Eurovision out of the superfinalists and would've gotten Italy the best result. However, we know San Remo isn't really about Eurovision and Marco was a worthy winner of the contest, considering the rules set out.
Those are pretty unique choices! Anna's song was well-performed and P&C's is a definitely grower and an ear worm. Would've been interesting choices for the win but still, pretty good!
I hate myself for always sleeping on sanremo when it's actually happening, regret it year after year. Vivo, Due, Mare Di Guai, Splash qand Il Bene Nel Male are my favorites. Happy to see all of them in your top 10! Splash was the best choice in my opinion
I really want to know exactly how Colapesce/DiMartino would be received at Eurovision considering that, in Italy, they're successful with both the press and when it comes to the general public. I think they'd do very well!
I actually did watch the superfinal for this and based on what I saw, I think Lazza should've won. Don't like the winning song much at all. Also insane to me that Colapesce & DiMartino weren't even IN the superfinal. Or any women, for that matter
It's definitely hard when it comes to women at SanRemo. It tends to be that those that make the superfinals have to have been incredibly established in the Italian music industry to have the level of respect to be allowed in. Unfortunately, I don't think Elodie or Madame are there yet, despite their songs clearly having the quality. This year, I can see Elodie just missing out (her song wasn't Andromeda) but Madame missing out is just bizarre. I guess with Lazza having a "similar-ish" type song, they went for that and didn't feel the need for another.

This year there was only one would-be-Giovanni artist who brought something decent to the contest and it was definitely not him. 24. The song has something to it, I believe, it's full of heart and I actually like the build-up to the finish... but those vocals? seriously? 23. Just bad. Her voice's deadly annoying. 22. I so agree here. It's just way too basic and I despise such cheap tricks like his child choir - was it really that necessary for the song? don't think so. 21. The colour of the stage describes my impressions from their songs best. Boring and uninspired. 20. His vocal technique (subtones - may I call it subtone? - first, shouting right into my ear the second after) is unforgivable. The song itself is not a iota better however. 19. I did enjoy this one! It was a really authentic throwback with no excuses and they absolutely managed to recreate that good old times' atmosphere on stage. 18. So happy that they were ahead of all the others Giovanni this year. The song has a lot of groove to it and they capture just the right mood on stage. Not the best vocals but a great first effort in any case. 17. I've never liked Anna Oxa to be honest (especially her voice) but this song was far over my expectations. I really enjoyed the chorus, it even has some mystic vibe to it, I think :D 16. I have a soft spot for songs written in triple metre, but I agree that his vocal manner really holds it back. A better 'brividi' song than last year, I believe :D but I wasn't really convinced, everything apart from the last part is very forgettable. 6. I kinda regret him messing with Sanremo and Eurovision again (does he really need that? what for?) and it's definitely not his best song, but he's heads above almost all the rest of this year as a performer. A decent winner, I think. 5. My second place this year (which kinda surprised me as I usually hate Dardust's songs), the one who has it all - the bop of a song, the arrangements (those samples with woman's voice are everything!), the vocals (finally someone who is capable of singing AND rapping), the stage presence. Would be a fantastic choice for Eurovision. 4. It's sweet... for the first thirty seconds, and then it goes on and on and on... 3. I think they are my favourites from the last five years of Sanremo. Their songs just make me feel so good, they're so easy and down-to-earth on stage and the melody got absolutely stuck in my head. Their 10th place finish this year did really hurt me. 2. I still don't get the hype both for her (I belive she wants to look much more on stage than she really is; and the way she looks at me from below... gosh) and her songs (repeating the same line multiple times doesn't make for a good hook; the arrangement is ok though) 1. Ehm. :D It's much more decent than his last year's nightmare (might be the worst performance I've ever seen in Sanremo) but his vocal just doesn't open up his song, sounds really flat for me. Top 5 was a little too much for him, if you ask me.
Appreciate the comments and really enjoyed reading them! Got me thinking that maybe I was overly positive about this selection in places! I think the songs that you did say good things about were great choices for the win and would've been good potential Eurovision entries. I really believe that Colapesce and DiMartino would win the contest rather easily and put up a monster combined jury/televote score if they continue with the standard and manner of the songs they've released so far. Obviously, Lazza's song is representative of everywhere the Italian music industry is at currently. Hey, I know I’m quite late but I think I should share my thoughts on each song because I have some interesting opinions: 28. Made in Italy: the song actually sucked. It’s not my type at all. Il bene nel male: I don’t get the hype over the song. For me it’s just a boring song. The vocals aren’t good either. 23. Non mi va: Its very different, but I didn’t get much out of it. For me, forgettable 22. Cenere: Ok, maybe it’s me for this one, but this isn’t my style of music. I think it’s good for it’s genre but its not my type. 21. Furore: Song doesn’t fit the country or year. Paola and Chiara have never really been my cup of tea and I just don’t really like the song. 20. Egoista: The live is better. The voice could be better. I do like the instrumentals but overall, average. 19. Un bel viaggio: For me, this song was all over the place. The chorus sucks. Overall, too much for me, and I never really liked their music either. 18. Vivo: Imma keep this brief, I would’ve ranked it higher if levantes voice was good. 17. Due: Just Forgettable for me, but still not terrible. 16. Mostro: Instrumentals are a bit bland and the vocals are different. Overall though, it’s not horrible. 15. Splash: I might get hate but, I love this song, there’s just a huge gap in quality between my 16th and 15th. Everything above Splash is incredible. I loved the vibe of the song. 14. L’addio: There just needs to be more. It’s not bad, and sometimes a like a song like this. 13. Parole dette male: I think that the song itself is slightly outdated. Giorgia will always be one of my favorite artists but there could have been more. Still great though. 12. Lettera 22: I was surprised on how good this was. I liked their style on stage. It’d never do well in Eurovision but still great. 11. Terzo Cuore: The chorus is decent, but what brings it down is his whispering in the verses. 10. Se poi domani: Missing something big but LDA made this song almost perfect. A song I listen to almost everyday now. 9. Lasciami: I like these rock style songs here. Yes I can see how it’s a bit boring and slow, but still great. Also, I’ve always loved Modà. 8. Mare di guai: I like songs where there’s nothing too much going on without it being boring. Ariete almost did it perfectly. 7. Quando ti manca il fiato: By far my absolute favorite STUDIO version song in the selection. I put studio all capitalized because the live was a mess. Gianluca did his best in the studio version but the live wasn’t good. Overall, my most listened to song since the festival. 6. Supereroi: I feel like the children add something. Mr. Rain’s vocals aren’t perfect but still a great song. 5. Tango: I really really love it. Nothing else to say. 4. Sali: Anna Oxa is the queen of Sanremo. This song should never have been anywhere near 25th which is a disgrace. I love the vocals and this song is almost perfect. 3. Duemilaminuti: Mara Sattei by far gave the best female entry. I love this song so much. 19th is just ridiculous. 2. Alba: The one reason why this isn’t number 1 is because it takes a while to get the best part of the song (Like Grignani’s) Ultimo is my absolute favorite singer of all time and this song is easily one of my top 5 from him. 1. due vite: Soooo deserved. Nothing much else to say. Fantastic. In bocca al lupo Marco!
