Its literally a .1% thing. As most with those powerful PCs will just go grab a 4K panel as evident by steams hardware surveys. They also take up a ton of room which most people dont even have and make multi monitor set ups far more annoying to build around... Which most people have now. They aren't becoming more popular at all.
i only have url file? mine doesn't sau exe and when i plugged those numbers in imhex, nothing came up. it read the starfield file because it said starfield but i dragged the url file into it because i dont see an exe one on my computer and dont know how to get exe
alright, this worked, but now when using SFSE, I don't have any mods loaded anymore. When I open the SFSE with Mod Organizer, it reverts back to weird resolution once again

I've done this exact thing and i cant make it work correctly, i'm running a laptop with 4080 with the new G9 OLED and that barely it usable within windowed mode with the 3440x1440 21:9 in windowed changing it back to fullscreen rewinds it to only use 1280 x 720 (16:9)... How do i actually fix this cuz this tutorial and it obv.

FOV 100 is WAYYY too high for a 32:9 monitor... you'll have zoomed in images on the right and left side of the screen. 45 is more where you need it to blend in the whole screen.

It’s still crap and it’s not true 32:9. If you increase FOV it makes you throw up, if you don’t, it stretches and enlarge the sides by 20x. We need native support and FOV slider.
will this also fix the problem with my ingame cursor? When i try to choose a new landing spot on a planet in the starmap, its not where it selects. I also have the problem inside the ship builder, my cursor is selecting parts far from it. 32:9 monitor
I used notepad++ with a hex add on.. I had to manually scroll to the address, only took like a minute... This also seems to fix the bug where where when you click doesn't align where want to land on a planet. Id assume this also fixes a similar problem in the ship builder although I haven't tried. When dragging the microsoft store/gamepass version of starfield.exe into imhex the only numbers that appear is the adrress line, what am i doing wrong or cant you modify the store version? anyone?
Ctrl+ F worked the first time but didn't offer any results when I entered the instructed hex coed? So i closed out made sure I was dragging the starfield .exe file in. Now the search function no longer comes up?
@@TechManPat I got it working, actually it was working all along... The reason why I didn't think it was working was because it did not change the resolution of the in-game menu, I had to load into the game before I realized... Perhaps you should add that to the description, that it does not change the menu resolution, but only in-game :)
After the latest update the ultra wide settings are not working anymore: "unknown" monitor issue. It automatically changed the game to a 1920x1080p small window. I fixed the problem by changing the settings to window with borders, but of course the top bar makes it annoying. If someone can fix it again for ultra wide without borders I would really appreciate it.

I see the same thing, I believe. It's not so much "crashing" with error messages and stuff, but simply exiting after the initial message is displayed, right when it was supposed to change to something else.
You don't need a Hex Editor for Gamepass. Go to the folder of the xbox gamepass game and open the Starfield.ini File paste the below under [Display]: fWideAspectLimit=3.55556

This fixed widescreen for me and shipbuilder mouse location problem. Running 3 42" Sony Bravia's at 5760 x 1080. Hud is stretched out, but most games do that. looking forward to a Starfield UI mod. Thanks.

@TechManPat not sure I follow. If I turn borderless full screen to off, the highest resolution I can set is 3440 x 1440 and then it's in a window. If I set bordeless full screen to on it does fill my screen but I can't adjust the resolution.
Thats correct, Starfield does not let you set resolution like other games, its really Janky, it doesnt say it but its filling your screen at your monitors native resolution. This is a starfield issue... how this game got 10/10 by some reviewers is beyond me.
Works very well.. unfortunately the view of the Weapon is broken bacouse basically the entire screen is zoomed in until the sides fill it.... but it's still better than a cut-off screen on the sides.😶

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS!!! I was already despairing because the game crashes with the hex edit, so I tried with just the hex fix (which has to be done in My Game\Starfield instead of the steam folder) and it works! I can't speak of FoV itself but it looks right. The game is displayed on the whole monitor and the mouse works correctly in the ship builder (honestly, that's the main reason I looked for a fix!). When looking through scopes you can actually see stuff to the side past the black bars, but that's the only thing that looked bugged to me.

Can’t believe this isn’t natively supported when 32:9 monitors are getting more and more popular, and even far older games like gta v work flawlessly

Especially all those 4k dweebs. 16:9 sucks. I have been playing on 21:9 and 32:9 since 2015.
I still cant use 32:9, but also there is no such numbers in the custom.ini to change any more. Is there another workaround today?

Make sure file extension is .ini, not .ini.txt (as I had because file extensions were hidden in explorer).

Not as far as I have figured, I tried different numbers but it wouldnt boot. The Hex edit is what adjusts the ratio

Ok, the FOV for both Third and First are indeed working but I cant seem to get the weapon to not be so close to my screen.

Without checking word for word, you may be doing something wrong… make sure everything is saved, set as read only etc.

Set it as non windowed in the game settings, it should fill your screen

There is not resolution selector, you just go full screen and it goes to your native resolution, welcome to starfield... Unless you go windowed mode
