Exactly. I'm not so sure about the allure of multi-monitor/widescreen gaming setups anymore. Higher refresh rate and resolution VR headsets will make them fall out of favor for even more people. Competitive gamers don't prefer widescreens anyway. They're still pretty good for general media and multi-tasking stuff though.
Agreed. No issues using different resolutions or refresh rates even. Basically grab any monitors you want. Screen size can even be stretched and cropped to line up with the displays near it as well for different monitor sizes. A 20 monitor setup could also be done on an old 290x graphics card using its eyefinity. The difference is struggling with 3 of the latest displays with 1 having some differences. Or being able to grab any left over monitor from any time period only worrying about how many pixels the crappy screens have, purely for how it looks. Not even worrying if it will work properly. Warpalizer software may be what you want with such extreme or custom screen or projector setups. It basically gives drag points to counter the stretching of any picture setup at all. Multiple projectors on a 180 degree curved wall, no problem getting those perfect either. Full scale flight towers with full monitor setups where physical windows would be. 360 degrees throughout the whole large room. In sim racing games, triple wide monitors allow you to look further into the corners to spot your apex and drive towards it rather than reacting to the corner as it comes into view with the fov afforded by a single monitor (or even most ultrawide ones). This will actually make you a faster racer. For sim driving games such as ATS or ETS the triple screen fov allows you to see out your side windows without turning the in game camera, thus making it more immersive and easier to paly because you simply turn your head to look out the window instead of taking your hands off the wheel or wasting the limited keybinds you have on your wheel to manipulate the camera. As he said though, most games aren't rendered properly for this setup outside of the sim world, creating some wild stretching effects on your side monitors.
Fun experiment! I wonder how this experience would be with the current generation of 49" panels that have a much tighter screen radius. The Samsung G9 for example has a radius of 1000, the ones shown in this video have a radius of 3800. You would need an U shaped desk I am afraid though.

"I'll just find things around the office to make a ridiculous gaming setup."
oh no...
Fun experiment! I wonder how this experience would be with the current generation of 49" panels that have a much tighter screen radius. The Samsung G9 for example has a radius of 1000, the ones shown in this video have a radius of 3800. You would need an U shaped desk I am afraid though.
Try a vertical stack (instead of horizontal)?
Did James "Hardwarecanuck" theses monitors together at 0:38 ?
To my Floatplane dudes; How was the roast?
well exactly nice, but i didnt watched in on floatplane ;)
I forgot about it until the last half. It was like any other roast. It had funny moments, some edgy moments, some cringe moments and some boring moments. And also some heartwarming moments.
@@dontknow3865 Thanks man. Will wait for the upload on TH-cam then 😁
you should of seen yavheon(Linus wife ,might be misspelling it) she was giving Linus the death stare when Linus finally roasted her at the end 😂😅
frozen fire the TH-cam upload will be very very cut down I recommend watching on floatplane if you actually want to see good roasts
