5 reason my windows blows. 1) MS forces you to use Edge 2) Windows filled with bloatware 3) Patch Tuesday has been going on for 40 years and they still manage to screw it up. 4) Windows gives you options that you dont need or want. 5) Wizards? do we really still need setup windows? 6) 40 years of legacy software bloated in the os that 80% people dont need or want.
Powershell 7 does work well on macOS in general. Things that are written for “windows powershell” v5 don’t work well. So I quibble with your assertion, or the wording of it at least. Two or three years ago posh on Mac was worse, but since modules moved to the graph backend, there’s much better cross platform compatibility. I can now do pretty much everything in posh on my Mac. But sure, there will be edge cases when a script or module has only been written and tested on windows.
It’s hard keeping up with windows hardware. There are so many choices, and most of them are junk, built to hit a low price point. There are more premium devices, but each will come in lots of skus and all have pros and cons. It’s very rare to find a screen and trackpad on a windows laptop even close to MacBook Pro. So yeah, more choice of hardware is a double edged sword. Choosing a MacBook is somewhat easier, and while they are expensive, if you can find a windows laptop with the same build quality and performance they too will cost a pretty penny. The “Apple tax” is often not as high as it might seem.
About camtasia, I think techsmith is the problem. I personally have used snagit since 1999 and lately on my windows 11 insider preview pcs, snagit had become buggy. I initially thought it was a problem with the release and aggressive push of the snipping tool, but from your experience, I now think techsmith is the problem. That said, I love snagit and only use the snipping tool if snagit has crashed hard and repetitively, and I haven't uninstalled the snipping tool.
I was a Mac user for 32 years, but I grew increasingly unhappy with the hardware. I'd used a Windows 10 box as a Steam games machine and I found that Windows was surprisingly useable. I'd even do some of my work on the Windows machine. When the keyboard failed (again) on my M1 laptop, I decided an £800 repair was beyond the pale, so I bought an AMD Framework laptop. The machine itself is good, though the camera, trackpad and speakers aren't quite up to the Apple level. The absolutely awful feature that's left me miserable for more than a year now... is Windows 11.
PowerShell is actually VERRY good, although I found it to be a strange example for this video, as it is obviously a shell primarily targeted for Windows by MS.
I agree with #1, not mind-blowing, well known in the last 15 years. #2 is a downside as well. think about Mircosoft replacing your driver with generic drivers, rendering your device to ..... #3 somewhat true, let's say it's there somewhere. #4 somewhat true. while they have not fixed many things from the past, they have added many features we tend to immediatelly disable and the "hiding" things under a 3-4 layers is really really anoying. not a fan of enforcing. #5 true
@@peterrisingM365 Much respect, but think in terms of broadening your horizons. If you don't know Linux, you don't really know what a pure operating system is. You're stuck being a consumer of whatever corporate America forces on you.
@@RaveyDavey I've read comments like yours often, but it hasn't been my experience with Mint. In the 6+ years I've been using it, it always just worked. Can't say the same for the previous 18 years with Windows. Perhaps it depends on the distro. I've never tried something like Arch.
HEY Not even hate-views? Come on appholes, come and cuss out Peter 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I cringed at this title. Back 8n our day, Peter would be rethinking his life decisions now. I am a windows guy btw. Since windows 3.1
It's certainly better at taking away all control of your own computer hardware from you and stealing your data. Mac is currently better at locking you into a corporate ecosystem limited to grossly overpriced hardware. Linux is better at giving your computer hardware back to you, but you have to format away every last byte of he corporate malware OS.

Preaching to the converted. I’m a Mac guy. 😀
Great video ,I would add a security and virus protection comparison
That’s a grand idea my friend.

Might have to give it another go.
I would have gone with ad group policies, ad users and groups, wsus, defender
Well, there's always another top 5. 😊

Agreed. Apple all the way for me.

I’ve used Clipchamp as an alternative when Camtasia goes buggy on me. It’s not bad.

I feel your pain!
This is the main reason why I primarily use Windows is because I'm a hardcore gamer and it's very difficult to game on a Mac or Linux
Yeah Mac really not known for gaming.
Sure I do game on my PS5 and I have a switch to but personally, I prefer the PC as my preferred gaming platform
Cool. I hear a lot of people do prefer PC gaming.
The problem with a walled garden is, it protects you, but it also keeps you in
the prison like ecosystem of apple made me leave for good
I think the this all comes down to individual preferences. 😊
Agreed, now do Linux :)
Ha. I’ll have to learn Linux first. Never touched it. 😂
I personally would never use powershell, I've always used bash, whether in linux, or mac.

I've used Bash here and there.

Well, if you're happy using spyware as an operating system, I guess. Myself, I moved to Linux Mint when they tried to force 10 on me.
Mac for me all the way.
