En Vogue was formed by producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy under the vision of a modern R&B girl group with strong vocals, intelligence, and show-stopping glamour. Damn those harmonies. They sound like a choir
The mystery I didn't get behind the name. This is a story but Don't salt it
Who's still on En Vogue in 2024?????
Me 🙋🏾♀️
Me!
Well Of course ❤
Love it, especially when it drops in, excelente
Oakland all day
I'm a metalhead but i freaking love En Vogue...
❤
One of cleanest beat drops of the 90's period 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Facts bruh
Facts! 🎯
Bro i was mind boggled just now paying attention to it as an adult and producer
major label music performed by a casting band .
Such good vibes revisted 🔥
They all were leads, which is why they all sound good....
These women were real and natural talent ❤❤
One of the best intros ever. En Vogue's harmonies were on a level no other group could touch. 1990s queens
Yes, I agree.
Brownstone had the best harmony
that what a casting group is castet for youngsta
Please don't get offended if I call it ICONIC‼️
You can thank Smokey Robinson for the intro. He wrote it in 1960.
No other girl group can compare to En Vogue. They are top tier elite..all members can sing lead & harmonize like no other. They are the complete package…Period 💛💛
Period!!
FACTS and FLOWERS! They began the 90s r & b girl groups movement

@@edwinotieno9470 ever heard of salnt peppa youngsta . en vogue is a casting product of a white major label for radio play edit. en vogue wasw the answer majors come across to not give the real ones a stage. and its still working . try google en vogue kid

The Voices, the styles, the beauty, the bodies!!! Puuurfect!!! Hands down best girl group ever!!
The love I had as a teenager for this group is still there
Yes you are right. En Vogue can knock anybody out in 2023
2024 and beyond !
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS
Their harmonies were mind blowing 🤯 Best female group of the 90’s 🔥
You will get some pushback on this because of how many great female R&B groups were in the '90s, but I'll back you up on this one.....En Vogue blazed the trail....
Brownstone had a bomb as harmony as well. I would not say best but very good.
TLC
correct
Of all time!
It’s 30 years later and I got the same chills when I heard the intro :)
Me2. Great song of smokey robinson btw
Absolutely
It's from micheal..Jackson 5s
That's what's brought me hear

This 1990 hit is probably the best R&B song from the whole decade 💯

@Good Vibes WOW ! My Sistha, you got "it" going on 😍
Too bad my thighs haven't
The difference between En Vogue and other women singers is that ALL of them can SANG. Not just one individual. The track still sounds as ever, in other words, a classic.
Thanks for not comparing, everyone is different in their own way. Great song, memories and melody. They look great ! Love them
💯
All of them had to be lead singers. That should be a requirement for all these groups.
@@msangthrope5396 Thank you, somebody has said it! THIS is what a girl group (or any group for that matter) should be. ALL of the members of any group should be the lead singer. Otherwise, it's just a solo singer with backup.
@@msangthrope5396 God bless you 💯
Nobody not gone talk about how she did that 0:55 🦋🦋😩
That beat drop was everything!😊❤
No, everything is much larger, and been around far longer.
Yesss omg ❤😊
Remember them on A Different World?!! These women are amazing!!
A group full of gorgeous ladies who can ALL sing lead and harmonize like none other!! When they sang their acceptance speech of their Billboard Music award for Hold On...instant chills!! Terri, Dawn, Cindy, Maxine...you ladies are truly blessed and talented ❤

"Don't waste your time fighting blind minded thoughts of despair" is one of my favorite lyrics of all time and probably the best relationship advice ever given by anyone, anywhere...

As a 44 year old white guy who started listening to hip hop and rb in the late 80s, En Vogue were the shit. This was their first single I believe-shit hit hard with both vocals and beat. They ushered in a great time for female rnb through the 90s-TLC, Jade, SWV, Xscape, Brownstone, Total, etc. I was in love with Cindy-convinced I was going meet her when I was 13 lol.
Well I just read she went through divorce so she's now single. It's your chance! lol!!
if u where born and grew in the 80s . u would have know . theire aare acasting band with 4 lipsingers 1 ghostwriter named klaus bieber a german ghostwriter of the bertelsman media group there where signed for.
as a 44 year old u cant have started listen to rnb in the late 80s. u where a kid at this time . sad u did even skipd school back in the early 80s
rnb is a thing of the late 90s . just u know imposter
speak that truth bro!
@@roberttange805 🤦♀️😂😂😂😂😂 What are you babbling on about. You are 100% incorrect. R&B (Rhythm Blues) music started in the 1940's, one of the earliest performers is Louis Jordan ( 1944, Is You Is, Or Is You Ain't My Baby). I'm a 53 yrs old black woman( born 1970) and grew up listening to R&B, my entire life. These ladies, were also blessed with amazing vocals. So before you continue to repeat your ignorance on social media platforms. Take some time and do some research and educate yourself.
Casting for a group does not equal 'no talent'. In 1988, 3000 women showed up for the auditions. These beautiful women can actually sing. Please provide evidence of them lip-synching on any of their records or performances. I don't care what you say: they were powerful, gorgeous, wonderful singers and performers. @@roberttange805
A combination of voices like this only comes around once every couple decades.
Word!
The GIRLS..ICONIC.....🤗😊😎bb
Yes, I agree with you.
Sad to write, but I think your right.
This kind of class needs a comeback.
Much facts but sadly the industry is promoting actual black talent much anymore. Example you'll see more drugs , twerking, promotion affairs, over sexualised material and this is from both groups male and female.
Will never come back.
Life is a circle. It will comeback one day!!!
@@len1975 only if the right people was running the industry. But too bad people is greedy
I definitely agree these Ladies of Envoge was Sexy and Classy without looking like sluts. And they they can actually sang.
34 years since this one marched up the charts (peaked at #5) Where has the time gone?
I'm a Metal Head and I remember the Debut of this Magnificent Song on MTV......... This jam Still ROCKS🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼😎🤘
Definitely! 💯
Also seeing them on living color !!!! Flint mi.
Just came here to say the same 😁
Same here. I was very much an MC long haired wearing metalhead when this came out and loved this group.
Their incredible voices can make you forget that this song also has the hardest beat drop in R&B history.
I'm surprised it isn't sampled more..
while its a casting band and only 1 real singer was involved who never get any media attetion ( aka lipsingers aka acapella) because its a major label casting band like milly vanilly. en vogue is signed to the same major label with the same production team .
enjoy

Still bumping it in 2023🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The new female singers can't even compare. When music was real, no auto tune
Isn't that still real?
this was the evolution of black women in the 90's....the definition of the whole package..they had my attention every time.
ABSOLUTELY RIGHT BROTHER. I LOVE THIS LADIES.
FACTS!😁
What a beat drop! Everytime I hear this song, I get goosebumps. En Vogue is just that talented. 🔥🔥🔥
Cindy's growls are sooo effortless throughout this song. She masters the subtle growl. Love it
Man, that's always been one of my favorite details of this song! Mastered it!! Not only is it perfectly subtle but strong enough to be felt. She places them masterful as well...used multiple times but never for once, even remotely, seemed over used or unnatural. Iconic.
she just did lipsinging .ppl still aint know en vogue was a casting band with lipsingers lol . welcome 2022

The most beautiful girl group ever. If only they could've acheived half of what groups like Destini Child did in Royalties. I saw them at the Grammy's a couple of years ago they still got it!
Pretty sure Destiny's Child receive royalties because they wrote their own songs.
😂 and what does Destiny Child have to do with En Vogue??? Just curious.... two different groups in totally two different eras 😂 I love the beautiful ladies of En vogue and Destiny’s Child, but DC was kids when this group was out and the era of music had definitely changed since the debut of Destiny Child!!! The hate is real out here in these streets 😂
Most groups during that era was getting robbed by the companies they was signed to
@@CraftyShawn Sadly yes.
@@CraftyShawn Is that so? I cannot believe big, reputed companies doing that way.

En Vogue is one of the greatest female groups ever. I liked that they all had parts to sing in their songs. Their voices are amazing.
😍😍
TLC?
Not to forget Brownstone.
X cape.
Yes I agree with you.
This white Canadian girl is a GenXer who loves black R&B to this day thanks to incredible groups like En Vogue, Zhane, Soul II Soul, etc. who hit it big in the early nineties. Amazing voices. Amazing talent.
No one is White, they're black girls
I'm GenX er from South Central Texas . What you described the same R&B groups were the best in those times. I sure hell don't know about today's music is a joke.
Never better than the late 80's early 90's R&B. Never be another time like it with our great music.
Good afternoon everyone and God bless everyone and I remember envogue, those beautiful sisters can all sing
The four part harmony is everything
Without En Vogue, there is no Destiny's Child.
That is the evolution of music.
Destiny who???? Shouldn't even be in the same sentence 😂
@fstmr2trd That is not fair, the torch has to be passed to the next generation, as did The Supremes, The Pointer Sisters, Sister Sledge, TLC and all the other female groups that represented

This song still ranks as one of the best songs of all time- it’s just funky as hell! And Cindy is giving some fierce vocals!! This was a great way for them to announce themselves!!
Best r&b group ever
En Vogue were the 90's version of The Supremes. The best Girl Group of the 90's. Hands down. Their voices blended together so well.
Not quite: each singer in En Vogue could sing lead. This is not true of the Supremes.
Exactly. And when I found out recently that the Supremes had ghost singers called the Andantes sing background…
it’s not that I lost respect for the Supremes, it’s just that now my respect for EN VOGUE increased a millionfold. 👑 #legendary
Man these ladies can sing!! Love their music and funky videos!
1 min+ acapella intro and no annoying rap bit in the middle- PURE CLASS!

Yes. It's a pity her solo career flopped
Seriously out of the 4, who do you think has the best voice? Or is it that each one of them has a specific vocal strength? I am just curious to know, hence the question...
Real music... At it's best...
AND you're right on.
