Third time I’ve watched this series in the last decade. First time I was living with my parents, second time living alone and third time living with my wife. Bloody love this and the Overblood 2 let’s play! 💚
Coming back to this 9 years later and it's interesting to hear Dan's concern that no one would watch the entirety of this playthrough. They even went on to make the "I Watched the Entire Overblood Super Replay" Facebook group because it seemed insane that anyone would stick around for all of it. Between all his time at Giant Bomb and his current side gig as a Twitch streamer doing 12+ hour "nightmare streams," it's wild to see how things have changed from the once "way too long" 6 hours of this replay.
Andrew Reiner the President of Video Games and last member from the OG Overblood crew has announced he’s leaving GI after nearly 30 years! He was the last remaining tie to the golden era of Replay and GI as a whole! Thank you Andy for all your hard work, passion, general love, and enthusiasm for video games! Replay will always remain special to me and I will always come back from time to time and enjoy all these classic episodes! Good luck Andy!!
I've watched this Super Replay so many times when it was happening, and afterwards, but it's been like a decade since I've seen this classic. When Matt at 1:25:07 says "…we've entered a new era: the Overblood era", it really was true. The Overblood era was a very long golden era for (Super) Replay, and I miss it so much. I miss the old GI crew and their chemistry. It was always crazy to me that these video never really blew up where people spoke about these guys like they did Giant Bomb. And then it just ended so abruptly 5 years ago with Reiner deciding Super Replays were done with God Hand, and the layoffs, and the pandemic. I guess it really was just a product of a much better time for the world in general, not just for me.
Watched this years ago and I return from time to time. Reminds me of the golden days of replay and how the original crew had so much talent. If they continued, they would have been one of the most popular gaming channels no doubt. Miss you guys.
Amen, it's sad to see GI in it's current state, they lost most of its best people and haven't done a good job replacing them. Heck even the Javy / Leo / Kyle era was better they seemed more relatable that the current crew. Also getting rid of super replay was dumb.

Dan, Tim, Reiner and Matt Helgesan was the dream team. Now I just watch their original replays from time to time, the new stuff has nothing to offer.

This Super Replay episode is now older than Overblood (USA) was when it premiered! What a time. I remember microwaving kettle corn for one of the eps. I got my mom to watch, this and Tail of the Sun and Cyberia and Overblood 2, she's a Dan fan. I've rewatched a number of times, "only" six hour-long episodes make it tight. ^ I scheduled a reminder for this in 2022, I wrote the text Aug 1. didn't know GameStop would shut GI down the next day...
It should be mandatory that this stay on YT forever. Instant nostalgia every time I watch. Use to pass time on a slow night at work with this. Still cracks me up.
Watch through all the replays once in awhile. Sad they don't make them anymore, miss everyone from the original crew to the crew at the end of Replay/Super Replay. Definitely had something special. Change is necessary but sometimes it sure does suck. Hope they never take these down.

My mom bought this gave for my brother and me, because it had a sticker on it saying " OverBlood a combination of Resident Evil and TombRaider". How could you go wrong with a game that combined two hits? We played it for a day and then promptly returned it. I remember screaming when I saw the main character nude with out any genitalia.

I cannot believe how much progress GI has made in the production department since this (2011, are you kidding me???) I still attribute a lot of what I view on TH-cam nowadays to this video.

This was absolutely great when it first came out. This was the first Let's Play series I ever watched... the first I ever even heard of. Loved this playthrough and the Game Informer staff.

Replay and super replay have been a formative part of my childhood. Its bittersweet now bidding farewell to GI so soon after seeing the other half of my childhood roosterteeth closed its doors
I played this game in 1997 (I was 17) and I remember liking it. It was quirky for sure, but the story was interesting. I certainly didn't beat it though :P
Everyone ( including me ) always gets a good laugh when you first get killed by that statue. I've played this game many times. I first played the Japanese version in 1996. I was able to make it all the way to the end. I wish this game ( along with part 2 ) would get an HD treatment re-release. The music is great. A cd soundtrack was released in Japan that has over an hour of music on it. A guide book was also released in Japan. Raz & Pipo ( a new Pipo ? ) and those naked floating statues all appear in part 2. I don't know if Milly is in part 2. I only got to play about an hours worth of part 2. She might be in it though. Part 2 was on two discs. So it's a much longer game than the first one. Part 2 takes place in a city, not in an underground lab. Over all, I thought "Overblood" was an effective & creepy game. The camera & movement might suck, but that didn't bother me after I got used to the controls. I liked having the option to have three different choices for perspective during game play. I hope RE7 offers that option. I don't like first person. It's fine for a VR game. But I prefer 3rd person if it's a regular game. By the way....did you guys ever complete "Overblood" ? LOL
That's funny to me because it's relevant for two reasons. 1) He has no dick. 2) They mentioned the Ghost Busters game as being one the developer(s) worked on.
Been looking for this game since I played it back in my elementary school days. It struck me last night to search for survival horror ps1 games after I thought about the ps5 and Village. Something clicked when I saw Overblood. When I played it I was scared but wanted to keep going. I eventually got stuck and went back to playing FF7. Good times but short lived. This is a terrible classic. A terrassic.
Yea, I had this game back when I had the playstation, I beat it a few times through. It was definately an adventure back in the 90's. Gives me a slight lonely nostalgic feeling waching this as it did when I played it through. I remember getting that futuristic green cutting knife as one of the very first defense weapons. It was a relief having it in my inventory until I figured out you only used it ONE TIME the whole game!
Their reaction after the statue fell on Wienerless Steve is still probably my favorite all-time moment in Replay/Super Replay history lmao. Tim and Matt were so pissed!
I bought this one in 96', and beat it a year after... This game is hard as fxxk, no navigation, no hint, nothing, you just have to touch everything. But it is amazing at that time, the only game that could beat it on PSX is Resident Evil 1, I guess
Every second without realizing the saving device is in the second room of the game is nerve wrecking. Like I get why they didn’t see it, this game does an exceptionally awful job at showing where items are what with them not showing up in the environment, and being in an open box, but it still leaves a put in your stomach.
This really is Gameinformer's magnum opus. Not a big fan in general, but I'll be damned if I don't come back and rewatch this whole series every few months

I had a green bird named Pipo from 2002-2007 I think he was a Macaw. We couldn't keep him when we moved but I think he could still be alive cuz those birds can live past 50.
