I bought this device at a cheap price from Amazon a few days ago for my Honda Civic to release the stuck electronic brake. the device discover that the defect was in the button. It is excellent and does many things. I dont need an expensive Scan Tool. What is nice is that I can add other car models to it at a cheap price.
true but i dont need additional vehicles i dont have repair shop i use this tool for my own cars and all under 2020 ,and if i get anew car i can download its program for 30$ only @@SaycoPworrell
Thanks for the product recommendation. Started playing with this scan tool this week. Appears to have potential, yet I'm a complete novice to all this car stuff - especially computer diagnostics. If you are looking for video material suggestions, and if you are incorporating this tool behind the scenes - then please share more step by step instructions and uses with this scanner. I've searched TH-cam unsuccessfully for a good thorough tutorial on this scan tool. I get the impression most of the videos are focused on promoting why it is potentially a great tool, yet not focused on actually using it in real world situations.
New subscriber I’ve just purchased the scanner. I’m a Diyer and own two Hondas i have an older launch which works great but saw this tool just for Hondas so I jumped at it. I purchased an Xtool D7W and has not worked since day one. It just sits on the workbench . I’m a retired aircraft mechanic so I do all my own maintenance . Looking forward to watching your videos. 🇺🇸Artie
Than you Danny for the advice I just recived the same Scan Tool. I am trying to deactivate the Start-Stop system for now. And test components like the radiator fans and VTEC solenoid.
I don't have that answer for you, although you can still get OBD1 scanners, also they do have adapters that might work with whatever scanner you buy, look on Amazon and buy prime, that way if it doesn't work send it back, or once you find one you like contact the company to see if it works for your needs.
I haven’t done this yet, but plan on it, I think you’ll also need a tire pressure monitor tool for this, this can read the sensors, I still need to do some research
Are you supposed to do a ecm/pcm reset first then tps reset or does it not matter which order? Also for the idle relearn is it necessary to rev the engine or can you just idle it until the fans come on?
Thanks . I have a 2013 EX-L 4WD Honda pilot with ABS/Break light keeps coming up on the dash . I took it to a local repair shop for a quick scan . There was a code " 123-11 -VSA Solenoid Valve Malfunction" . The repair shop suggested that the ABS module needs to be replaced & it will run me $1600 -2000 for new & $500 -$650 for used parts only . I want to make sure that the problem is not due to a bad wheel speed sensors before spending the money . Is this scanner capable of reading/scanning the wheel speed sensors ?
Thank you, Dan. Great video. My engine light came on my 2009 element. I'm purchasing that right now. On Amazon, it came down in price. My question is, does it come? With a manual to read And understand all the previations and codes?
Hi Danny, My '10 civic seems to idle around 550-650 RPM after engine warms up. Idle in drive while at stoplight I mean. Before totally warm it idles higher at stops like around 700-800. There is some vibration when it is idling lower in the 550-600 RPM range. I notice after lots of highway driving the idle gets even closer to 500 rpm when at stoplights - after coming off interstate. Like around 550-600 Never directly on 500 rpm though. Is the only way to reset idle using this tool or would I need to take to dealer if I don't have tool? What kind of service is this called?
@@dannysdiygarageDanny I found your video where you do idle relearn without this tool. So you don’t necessarily have to have this to do idle relearn ? The scanner just makes idle reset faster ?

Yes it can be done manually, I have a video on that, the scanner does more than just a relearn, it also takes less time with the tools and better results

Can't beat the price for what you get and the money it will save you over the years
Its good, but I think it's only for 12 months for adding additional vehicles.

Hi Danny! Just got this Launch reader for X-Mas present. Can't wait to test it out on my '10 Civic.
Hope you enjoy it!
Danny, can you recommend a good OBD1 scan tool for my 95 Civic? I need it to help me bleed the ABS system.

Hey Danny, i just got mine. Definitely would love to see more use with it.
I have more videos planned using this scanner.
I have a dashboard full of lights that come and go related to the ABS control module. Will this scanner pinpoint the trouble?
Can it reprogram new TPMS sensors to the ecu? Thanks

Eco reset, tps reset , rev and hold at 3,000 rpms till fans cycle, then let idle
