In fairness I am going to bet that every top player will lost to a volatile character.
Characters like Mario, DK and Ganon are pretty volatile and DK can just randomly kill you. Not to say it makes it any less funny tho.

Feels like Corrin is the new age Palu; simple to pick up with a high potential, godlike disjoints and combo routes "balanced" by being gimpable (ends up being tricky in practice)

@@BIGshippyy I'll have to disagree. That character just isn't used properly by most. If you have a better understanding of how he works people will do way better with him. I believe it's just a massive lack of understanding how he functions similarly to how Hurt is using snake differently than everyone else using snake.
@@laggernet yep just play unique new style like TG or Hurt and popoff creating new meta. technically you could argue this for any smash character but i feel like why pick up banjo and try and master some of the hardest tech with neutral b confirms when you could pick 40 characters over him that hiit confirm off of anything in their kits? idk i feel like their are just so many better options then him leaving him down in middle to lower tier still, ESPECIALLY out of high rank competitive.
@@BIGshippyy I see what you mean. I just think Banjo's zoning capability is what makes him strong with that neutral b. Not only can you get hard to do confirms but you get zoning capability and zoning is probably the strongest playstyle in all of fighting games. If you can get kill confirms or combos off of your zoning kit then that is a huge plus in my eyes. Can't just see the neutral be for kill confirms, you have to see it as a double edged sword. The zoning power is there as well. Letting you condition and control neutral at the same time.
@@laggernetthis argument works for every character IMO. I dont think Banjo is ass but I think part of why TG is so good is simply that 1. Japan is kind of on top and 2. WiFi is actually good practice in Japan since its not as bad.
I also think no one knows the Banjo matchup. There are like 3 Banjo players and you rarely see them obviously TG exists in Japan but who outside of Japan has played against a high level Banjo? Ig Tweek has a Banjo but he ain't no TG.
Again I dont think Banjo is terrible but he's not amazing either he's just a Mid Tier (Even then I think Ult players hear "low-tier" and forget that their worst characters would still be decent mid-tiers in Smash 4.

He's one of the most active players in terms of entering events and has more major wins than anyone this year, but the events he's entered outside of Japan he's underperformed in. I'd say he's at least top 5 and how high he's ranked really depends on how much they reward attendance and how well he does in the upcoming events

What I want to know about 2024 Smash is whether or not people are ready to have the conversation that Pyra/Mythra are nowhere near top 5, and are probably not even top 10.

@@elliottbritt3937in no particular order, Steve, R.O.B., Sonic, Pikachu, Joker, Fox, Snake, Game and Watch, Olimar, and either Minmin or Wolf.
I don’t think there is any argument you can give for Pyra/Mythra being better than any of these characters, even if they have a few decent matchups among them.
I also think that Cloud and Roy while not top 10, are also better overall than Pyra/Mythra due to more consistency in killing while having comparable combo game, damage output, and recovery.
Pyra/Mythra are like somewhere between 15-20, tops.

Defensive play is strong. Nintendo doesn't care about designing games where aggro play is rewarded, unfortunately.
But bro they made aerials have no lag, it’s so deep just spam aerials and if it doesn’t connect run away, street fighter devs need to take a lesson from smash like come on🥸
@@The_SOB_IIin fairness if you just have an aggro game its also going to be very annoying. Imo if you look at Melee, regardless of if you like it, there's a very good balance of offense and defense matches generally feel better paced. Imo I just don't think Ultimate's system mechanics invite super aggressive play since Ultimate has kind of removed a lot of the more interesting movement/offense mechanics.
Things like Pivots, DACUS and actually good Dash dancing aren't a thing or regarded at all. To be fair part of it is also that every set is 3/5 which means people get burnt out and therefore play slower since its less mentally taxing
In fairness I've been saying the game was lame for ages now. The movement in this game just diminishes offensive play. The reason why zoners are so good is because you can't move around them as well as you could in other games
