Protecting your receiver hitch may not be the first thing on your mind, but a hitch slider can protect it from trail damage and also serve as a recovery point. Check out the 41.22 hitch slider - amzn.to/3ydqJD9

Departure angle is the angle from the ground to a line from the back of the rear tire to the back edge of the vehicle so a smaller departure angle is a vehicle with more hanging out past the back tire. The smaller the angle, the more likely you will hit the rear of the vehicle when going over obstacles. This is especially problematic if you have a low center of gravity. #jeep #wrangler #gladiator

I think I am going to get one of these with the 2.5” to 2” sleeve for the Red Beast. Makes sense.

bro, this thing is almost 200 bucks for a piece of metal. My lifted jeep TJ (2 doors) on 33 inch tires, doesnt really need this, and I never scraped my rear hitch receiver. This thing could maybe useful on some rigs, but such a rig maybe shouldnt be doing as much off roading if scraping the rear is an issue.

I get it. Between your lift and more forgiving departure angle your setup is a lot less likely to be an issue. For me, something like this made sense and prevented some unexpected damage before I spend considerably more $ on lift and larger tires. I’m taking my time building my ride. Thanks for watching.

why put a slider to protect yourself from scraping if buy putting the slider it makes you more likely to scrape. oof.

I thought about it while watching a Tacoma dredge the trail in front of me. That bumper was flexing like crazy. Thanks for watching!
