Ima comment this here so someone might see this, but I dont think the nuke ending could be Canon because if the black ops series and the new rebooted mw series were Canon, then that would mean half of Europe would be nuked buy in mw 2019 it looks fine, qnd I don't think you can repair nuke damages like that

@@Antpoison The reason why Adler shot Bell is because Bell was a Perseus Agent. Once he realized that he was the one who destroyed the nukes, he was about to retaliate against Adler and his other colleagues. And I felt that that's what Adler terrified. I hope you got my point.

Yeah, when Adler took me to the cliffside and started talking to me I was like “Is he gonna shoot me or something?” And then literally at that moment Adler pulls his gun and I’m like “FFS! I SHOULD HAVE FUCKING KNOWN!”

Despite the length, I truly think this campaign is fantastic filled with great moments, references, easter eggs and parallels to the original game which I feel flew over many people's heads

Best COD campaing I've played other then the original MW2
Idk about everyone else, but I was incredibly surprised that this cod wasn't just a "run through and kill the enemies" kind of cod. This cod had investigations, puzzle solving, and really required you to think and invest your time studying characters, and think about decisions. I want to see more of this in future cods.
Only thing I was pretty disappointed about was the difficulty. I did my first run on "Realism" and at times it felt like "Regular" difficulty, it was too easy.
I agree the extra layers to find optionally was a good idea, personally I think black ops 1 was king in all ways though and that was quite linear compared to others especially 2 and 3, probably helped that levels felt really open and explorable and narratives wasn't obvious, i love how black ops levels felt more immersion because it was a good amount of normal gameplay without shoving you into forced cutscenes etc too much like this did, and i think at times dialogue options actually can take away immersion. Cold war wasn't really fun gameplay imo at all but graphically good. Also I'm beyond sick of certain cod tropes now, this game was decent and had an okay but too farfetched story that was short but somehow still felt slow. It did feel like a Bo1 spinoff or cousin of Bo1 rather than sequal. I wasn't a big fan of bo2 but it had good parts.
also length, campaigns need to be longer man. Earlier CODs used to have longer campaigns.

Playing it on realistic was very tough. I debated more than once on lowering the difficulty but glad I didn’t. Unfortunately there’s no achievement/trophy for realistic difficulty completion.
I like that you get to choose (the main part of) the ending with a simple dialogue choice though. I thought the side missions for the bonus parts were cool. But the story arch where you have to get everything right for the good ending like in Black Ops 2 was too difficult and tedious for me. Especially as you only had limited amounts of tries at doing it. The main thing I disliked about Cold War was that the campaign was a bit too short and I would like to get to know the backstories of some of the characters more, mainly Adler, Perseus and Bell. Other than that it was unexpectedly good. I’m guessing they’re going to continue this rebooted story line...

I’ve already seen tons of videos on this, but I personally like to think that Bell survived the headshot. He, the persona of “Bell”, dies but he manages to cling to life, albeit as an amnesiac. Warsaw Pact reinforcements arrive during the aftermath of Solevetsky and, seeing a promising candidate for brainwashing, implant memories to construct the “Stone” personality in multiplayer.
I know it’s cliche, but it helps me to look at the ending more positively.

No he literally means the mission comes first "above all else" and he's killing you to keep the operation covert.
Hes dealing in what we call "implied" task. His commander gives him discretion to do what he deems necessary. This is this difference between a soldier and an operator.

I’m actually very unsatisfied with the campaign endings. You really lose either way if you think about. The good ending is when you save Europe and save the day but you still get turned on by ur own team. Even when you turn on Perseus for the sake of millions of lives you still find a knife on your back. When you lie to Adler without telling Perseus, you still die along with millions of other people and possibly caused a world war. And when you lie to Adler and tell Perseus, Yeah it feels good to kill Adler, but what did it cost? Not only did you kill millions of innocent people and potentially cause a world war. But you also kill Woods and Mason, the characters that U loved since you were 10 years old, like they were just regular enemies in a normal mission. It really bothers me that the campaign was designed in a way that no matter what you do, you still lose. This campaign is the perfect example of “You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” But not in a satisfying way at all. In a way, I felt cheated, But non the less; I still think it’s a great game.
Not all games have to have a good ending. In a way, these are probably the most realistic endings to such games; war is deception at the end of the day, so if anything BOCW portrays that brilliantly.
That what makes the ending brilliant imo. Either you do the right thing, but at the cost of yourself, or you join the bad guys, and they treat you better than Adler
@@ashhabimran239 Good ending does make 0 sense story wise though. Bell was already completely fine with the nuke plan. Theres nothing that happens during the story that would change that, his mind was already okay with the deathes of millions to empower the Union and cripple the States and any 'empathy' for the other side gained during the story would be banished when he learned how much he was defiled and brainwashed by the americans. The ambush or betrayal death endings are the only ones that would happen plot wise.
To be fair. You don't see Bell actually die. 20 bucks says when the next black ops comes out it will continue off of this point. I'm betting bell is alive. Perseus is still alive and we got a job to do.
And people thought Mass Effect 3’s endings sucked.
Maybe Adler gave you the memory that you died and so was able to delete your memory completly making you able to be used as a sleeperagent again.

After doing the so-called “good ending”, I just had to restart the end sequence and sided with Perseus just to feel better. It worked, screw Adler and the others, except Woods and Mason

I was really hoping that Reznov would be alive in the Cold War campaign that would've been a huge plot twist and that was a huge missed opportunity when they made the game.

The break through mission was a crazy reveal that you were a Russian implanted with fake memories the whole time and Adler has his phrase-“we got a job to do” to keep you hypnotized- you were basically playing the whole campaign while on DRUGS and being mind controlled

I wish, the main story would have the same thing like decrypt codes before you starting the next mission.
Maybe a bonus mission where you fight Perseus head on after you destroyed the broadcast towers because seriously, the main goal in the game was to capture Perseus, now I have the feeling the story isn’t done

He says that the bad ending can’t be the canon ending, but if Black Ops and the new modern warfare game are supposed to be in the same universe, the Piccadilly proves that the canon ending cannot be the bad one.
BOCW it's just a sequel of BO1 and a prequel of BO2, no connection to MW universe imho

I have a bit if a conspiracy theory but its a stretch:
Both Bell and Adler survived, as said Adler is alive bc of the MP but take a look at the hand and arm of bell, it matches the hand and arm of the Russian Operator in the ski mask (side note, the mask and glove are the same material as bells). I believe that Adler shoot bell left him for dead but forgot to take some coms gear off of him, and, using the same channel in the bad/evil endings came back to the russian side. just a thought

The reason the nuked one doesn’t make sense for it being canon is that MW 2019 and takes place in BO universe and those missions take place in Europe
The good ending is canon, the rest are optional.

I never noticed the missing scar from the Vietnam mission, and I didn’t even know about the Bad Ending. I played through the campaign on PS4 and PS5, completing veteran difficulty, all trophies, and completing all challenges to 100% the campaign, and I STILL did not know these things

@@danielbeha-malal5757 This Zakhaev is basically an alternate reality Zakhaev. A lot of characters from OG MW return but we'll see how it plays it. If Makarov is in play then they might as well make the MW trilogy part of Black Ops.

This is long, but Ink wanted our opinions so here's mine:
I personally think Adler and Bell shot eachother. Bell thought he fought alongside Adler many times, when in reality he never did (till the last mission anyways).
The thing I find great about the ending is it's the idea that Adler shared his memories with Bell, and Bell and Adler both was somehow best friends in a way Mason and Woods are. Adler practically told his life story to Bell, so naturally Bell felt close to him and dear friend; even though it was brainwashed into his head.
Like Inkslasher pointed out, Bell might've known too much about Adler; which is why Adler shot Bell.
But Bell felt like Adler betrayed his trust extremely, by the brainwashing and Adler making Bell believe he could trust him and making him think they've been through a lot together; hence why Bell pulled the gun out on Adler.
And then they both laid down and died together, _which is a memory they both actually will share with eachother forever, and not a brainwash_

Bell can survive in the ending, it will show red if adler kills you, yellow if you spammed R2 or LMB meaning you killed adler, reason bell wasn't an operator: he or she is a protagonist and we don't
know how it looks anyway.

@@connerhouse5005 not really, if you think we lost it would be because we didn’t get anywhere, and if you think we won it would be because we killed more. But the real answer is that it wasn’t our war, that would be like saying the french won the American Revolutionary War
The effects left behind by a nuclear explosion would be left in the area for centuries afterwards, and there are missions in Europe in BO3, which exists in the same universe. Given the fact that europe is still intact in BO3, it’s fair to assume the bad ending isn’t the canon ending.
Remember that the nukes were only anti people, they talk about it at one point saying that it would leave all the infrastructure but the people would die
I think the good ending is a lot more simpler them people are theorizing. Bell, to the CIA, is a liability, because at the end of the day, Bell was a high ranking official for Perseus, and he could switch on a dime. I also don’t think Adler is as bad as I’ve heard. I’ve heard him compared to Shepherd but I don’t think he’s anything like Shepherd. Shepherd enlisted shadow company and betrayed the SAS to be the one to kill Makarov, so he would look like a war hero, he doesnt care about America, he cares about his legacy. Adler, on the other hand is dedicated to stopping Perseus, even going as far as to use MKUltra to brainwash Bell so he could not only protect America from an unnecessary war involving Europe, but to save millions of lives. Shepherd is vengeful and prideful and will fuck over anyone. Adler does his job to protect America, even if he is the bad guy in the end.
Thats my thoughts at least.
Adler did his job well. But I am not sure if brainwashing is the way to protect America. What if the Agent suddenly, remembers who they are and turn on you? Now, you got a rouge agent, and no way to stop them.
Over all, it's fair to criticize Adler's choice to brainwash "Bell".

The canon ending has to be the good ending where Adler and bell shoot eachother since if the bad ending was canon, then in MW3 when the Davidson family goes for an outing in London and get gas attacked London would be destroyed since there were nukes in the UK.
Keep in mind that the original mw and black ops don't take place in the same timeline

Hey so i have a theory, so when alder shoots bell it only knocks bell out and since bell is in mulitplayer as stone, bell survived. Also when you said that alder had killed bell because bell knew everything about alder . In the game alder says "nothing personal." So bell knowing everything about alder isnt the the reason why alder shot bell

There’s something you didn’t point out. In the last moments of the good ending Bell KNEW Adler was gonna shoot, suggesting that there’s more behind the scenes.

He definitely had the intention of stopping Perseus and the higher ups did know about him maybe he really did encounter him in Vietnam or they were CIA buddies
