    Aboru Aboye Abosise, Baba. I practice traditional Ifa, but I have watched enough of your video that it is clear to me Orunmila is working through you. So many people need to hear the info you put out BEFORE jumping into Iles and paying for things they don't understand. You have many more Godchildren than you may know. One thing to add from my learning is if the person knows verses from the Odu of their Ita, they should be chanting it when tending to Orunmila. May the Egun, Orisa, and Olodumare/Olofin continue to guide you on your path. Ase!

    I attend Oyotunji African Village in SC and have been told it’s a mixture of Isese and Lucumi.

    • @FavBabalawo
      @FavBabalawo  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lineage is important and a fusion is not possible in reference to If and Orisha practices. Isese is based on the land of West Africa. Lukumi is based on the lands the slaves traveled from the trans-atlantic slave trade. In a ritualistic stance, herbs are different, animals are different, the tribe concept is not existent. Hard to compare apples and oranges. Now foundationally, we have ties and a general understanding, but Lukumi has involved from Isese practices to a more complex system in the west.

My padrino says that I should not attend to my warriors more than twice a month. There is also a big language barrier so when I ask him questions I get really short responses and I don’t truly understand. I don’t want to be disrespectful to him because he is my padrino but I have been feeling that I am not learning the things that I need to in order to continue in my path. Here's a question. I am receiving my hand in Ifa coming up from a babalawo of Ifa. The babas are Cuban. But I notice they have saints all over the place. I asked them. Are they IFA or Santeria and they tell me they are IFA. But I don't understand why the saints.
    Are they Santeria? Which I know technically it's still ifa

    • @FavBabalawo
      @FavBabalawo  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats a longer explanation. However, most Babaláwos in Lukumi lineage have passed through the land of Osha, aka. Santeria. However, once an Olorisha (Santero) transition to Ifa priest, they focus on that, hence consecrate and initiate Ifa only powers. There is alot to unwrap here and a longer explanation for sure.

      Stick to the basic attending ingredients, the only thing that varies is the palm oil and honey. Palm oil light glazed on the Otas and Eshu is for rough weeks or a troubling week prior. Honey is added when things are going well...the rum and tobacco always. A sprinkle of the fish, jutia, toasted corn is a great from time to time.

    Why do Santeros only give a rock as an Eleggua and Babalawos give the Eleggua with a face? Also why do so many Santeros, especially in Osha centric houses give Elegguas with a face as well. I’ve seen even houses that are Ifa and Osha equally where both a Babalawo and Santeros give out their Elegguas with a face but the Eleggua received by the Babalawo has Orunmila’ yellow and green beads on the top of the Eleggua and a stone with the nail on top as well, where the Eleggua given by the Santero doesn’t have the stone on top or the beads?

    • @FavBabalawo
      @FavBabalawo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. The answer is simple, Eshu is Ifa; Elegba or Ellegua is Osha based, but none the less every Eshu Odara has a rock of some sort 😉. It obviously more complex but that's just something for now.

    You didn’t elaborate on why or why not to give osun honey and also isn’t it true to taste the honey before attending orula?

      This was extremely helpful especially because it was done in English! We need more videos like this translating all the important information necessary to understand and embrace the full aspect of it all. Thank you immensely for doing this video. I look forward to more videos like this.

    What does ekiné mean, & why does Orula need to be picked up "in two's" with Oshun? (I'm a brand new baby in all of this)

      My advice is if you are new please stick to your godfathers teaching to stay consistent. However, if you need additional assistance. Please email me if you need specifics always here to help but want to respect boundaries. La.regla.de.ifa@gmail.com
