To be honest, all this hierarchy and politics talk gets on my last nerve, 🙄but this tends to be a common question, I felt it’s best to answer in a video for better understanding. My least favorite topic to talk about on this channel. It’s not that Orisa initiation will take 17 years like me. I actually left Orisa tradition for a few years in 2007, so that was also my delay. BUT... build a bond with your Ancestors and prepare for when it’s meant for you. Don’t let people rush you because of the business aspect of it. When it’s time, you’ll have what and who you need to have initiation done.
Alaafia Iya, Ore Yeye Ooo. Thank you for this. You are helping so many people with your basic breakdown of Ifa. You are a better teacher than you think.
ORUNMILA Aboru! Orunmila Aboye! Orunmila Abosise!! Orunmila Elerin Ipin! Beautiful video and thank you for taking the time to share your precious journey with the TH-cam Community. May Orunmila and Oshun bless you with you consistent victory that will give you the calibration that will invoke compassion, humility, respect, self love and iwe pele. Ase Now, in Issese tradition the equivalent to the word "Crown," as use in Santeria/Lukumi tradition. The word in Yoruba is Adosu so you are Adosu Osun meaning you are fully initiated to Osun. We do not need to use lucumi terms if we are following Issese tradition with all respect. May Orunmila always bless you Ase OOo
I manifested this video! I’ve been saying for the past week or two that I want a video clarifying this information and I want it specifically from you. THANK YOU for your work
Thank you, Adunola, for the information. I won’t lie, that was a lot to take in. But I’m glad that I will have this reference to come back to throughout my journey. I also am happy I can now self-identify as an Aleyo.
This video Is very informative for anyone who is interested in Orisha practice. She does a good job in reiterating what is Orisha Lukumi. She also explains a little on Isese Ifa practices.
Thanks you for your honesty. I had 1 reading and was told I was ready for initiation. I was like what, I'm not ready for that. It's been 2yrs since I've begun my African spirituality, and I now know, I'm still not ready. Thanks for your awesome wisdom.

Thank you so much for breaking this down. I follow a different African Spiritual System, and was so confused about how the hieararchal order works even in the system I follow. Now. Overall, it just makes more sense..
I love how you explain everything - my fave part is when you say that you’ll stay in your lane but still honored your experience and knowledge on the santo lavado topic and gave a bit of info but with respect. I subscribed.
🥰 TU for explaining this, since I’ve came out of a coma, this word Orisha is everywhere I view, listen,or written directly in my eye sight🤔 ! I’ve spoken to a family member of something is going to happen and it did. I’ve spoken to a friend something is coming for them and it happen.🤪 Crazy this is happen my family & friends said I’m weird ❗️ I tried to stay quiet and not think of why this is happening to me🥺😕. I’ve started to just learn who or what the levels of this Orisha is and you’ve now given a break down.I’m now a subscriber and will possibly continue learning of this. ❣️
firstly thank you for the information and help. I love watching you TH-cam and it always helps. I have been having a hard time trying to connect with my spirituality and my ancestors for a while and I have always wanted to ask them for help and guidance but whenever I reach out to someone for assistance with my spirituality I seem to run into people who use it as a weapon rather than something that is meant to help guide others. I have been told that the things that I experience and the dreams that I have or things that I hear are all just my imagination and that I am just hearing my own thought but others come to me and demand that I need to do this and that and that they have better spiritual gifts than me . spirituality isn't a competition to me it’s something that I use to better myself and to seek guidance and understanding but lately the people that I try to go to for spiritual help have become more negative and sometime I feel that they are not people I should trust. they try to make me fear the spirits and try to make me feel that bad things are always going to happen to me at first, I used to believe it, but things haven't been making since. I am an African American and I have roots in the Congo where my ancestors are from, although I don't try to make it all about race I do get a bit hurt when my friends who are white and involved in African spirituality try to make spirituality a competition and try to use it to hurt rather than to help, I just need proper guidance and I want to be closer to my ancestors and my guiding spirits but I don't want it to be tainted by people personal agendas anymore.
You are one of the best to explain this tradition, I refer others to your page when they wanna know more. My daughter is very interested and will just get her head marked soon so as not to rush her into anything else.
@@AdunolatheOracle I live in the "Bible Belt" South so often African traditions are seen as demonic or against Jesus. I know of a few Houses but they're either Santeria or non-traditional. "It differs from tradition to tradition." Me: "Thank you for this, because so many in the religion forget this. There are lots of differences... Regla de la Ifa, Regla de la Orisha, Santeria, Balo and these are from the Cuban versions alone... I imagine that Nigeria got even more versions." The way I see it as, Aleyo is Pre-K. It introduces you to the world and it is very important. We are born as Aleyo. 😎That's what my Balo uncles tell me and it is from here you find out your abilities and spirits, because it is where you start. It takes me long time to go through the paths as well, even though I had been told by so many I have the abilities and gifts to be a Iyalawo. I always see myself as teacher whiling to be a student and learn more, because there is so much to learn. Balo is something practiced by both sides of the family, ancestor knowledge is very important to know which path to take and how to practice. I tend to stay away from Balo due to the blood rituals, but I acknowledge and respect it, because it is part of my ancestors'. I am glad you mention the importance of ancestors and knowing your heritages. Thank you for your whole video really. This has helped answer so many of the questions. I'm going to bookmark this for further study.
