    Basically every instrument.
    But, once in a while there is some 5 minutes where you can touch anything blindfolded and you feel like the next best musician to ever born on the planet.
    Those 5min are gold.

    As a cellist I find this very relatable! It’s the ‘where is my music?’ For me lol. Or when you practice for a while, you can’t get it right, your bowing arm starts to hurt, and then you just get up to ‘take a break’ and you forget to put your cello back into its case.

      @@Mochi_VAL I think cellos prefer life in a case because the humidity is it's enemy and they can be nice and cozy and protected in there. They like to come out and play often though :)

    Likely situation: You finish practice. You are a bit tired. You place the cello beside you on the floor sideways, thinking ‘I’ll put it away later.’ A week passes. You trip.

      @@eternally1276 Why are you so snooty? They literally just forgot to put their cello away, no big deal😭 And as long as their cello wasn't irreparably damaged, it doesn't really matter. I'm pretty sure I've tripped over a cello before and it only went out of tune🤣

    That repetition is fundamental is something most non-musicians don't understand. I'm sooo glad my hubby is also a musician!

    I started learning an instrument at a reasonable age (6) and my mother used to claim that it would "help to release stress and to relax". Well, no. Practicing can be so very annoying and adds to the stress (most of the time).
    Still, I hope I will make time to learn another instrument in the future.

    Beginner here. When everyone in the house suddenly finds an excuse to go outside for a walk, to the store, put on on headphones, play ping-pong in the basement - anything to get as far away as possible. Then, you know you are truly practicing. Sometimes the cat comes in and listens. What a friend.

    My mother was a violinist with perfect pitch and had an amazing repertoire in her head. She could often hear a piece on piano and play it on violin without music.
    She told me that you don’t practice what you know, you practice what you don’t know.

    I just practiced and let me tell you how it went down: scales, attempting to play Dvorak that’s above my skill level, and nearly crying as I try to fight 3 (and possibly a 4th) wolf tones because apparently my cello is a wolf breading ground.
    definitely not graceful 😅

    You’ll know any musician is mad when you hear an onslaught of horribly played notes. String instruments are such a pain sometimes and I just go off on my violin.

    No the correct thing is cannon d ( the slow part) what it’s actualy like cannon d( the like 10 measures of 16th notes)

      I myself did not have a traditional start of beginning very young and weekly lessons. I started at 11 had first private lesson at 14 and didnt have regular weekly lessons until I was a cello major in college at 19. @adultcello started at age 25 from scratch and talks all the time about that journey and has great content for adult beginners. Same with Jonathan @cellocoach If you have a desire and you have a cello you are good to go.

    ❤ First I would absolutely love the Opportunity to even touch and practice and play with a cello. It is One of my favorite string instruments. Second technique it would be A help but reading music is pointless for me as I play by ear And never learn how to read music. By this point I read the simplest things like mary Had a little lamb.
    Since I have the ability to play by year if I seem to understand Is the mechanics of how the literal instrument works?I just mess around to teach myself how to play things. I never had beginning an intermediate band in Junior high but did try out in high school Without knowing how to read music.But my talent got me in. Band and chorus were the best things in life

    As an ex-violinist(intermediate) and a classical guitarist(intermediate), I've always wanted to play that fat cello. Bought a 3/4-sized for my 11-year-old, but she ignored it, so I'm trying to play it now
    I've no problem with fingerings except couldn't get the pitch accurately (like your intro), so I get you, bro. Playin Cello is a hard, hard life, but once you're in it, you just want to keep going like a fool while disturbing everyone
