I always had problems with the angle until I refrained from the endpin and now I am totally fine just holding the cello with my knees and lower legs.

Have you read kummer's treatise on cello? The magic wand for me was playing without a spike. Had back pain and shoulder tension for years and it was fixed overnight. Basically kummer suggested learning for 1 or 2 years without a spike to learn how to hold the instrument properly then when the student is ready to move on add the spike for stability and projection
It puts the knees below the hips and allows the hips to externally rotate into a relaxes position. Puts the contact point a bit lower for the arms to drape down to. Also tilts the fingerboard a few degrees away from the head

How do you keep your bow shoulder relaxed and your fingers on the fingerboard relaxed. I can't get through a one page piece because my shoulder and back will be killing me. I played a long time ago as a beginner but haven't played in a few years and have always had that pr9blem

I think, in a lot of cases, aside from boobs....body length, arm s and legs.....so many shapes and sizes to consider .
