  • Hey everyone, my apologies about the delay on this video, i've recorded it a few times now trying to show how I do things and it never really came across right when I watched it back. So hopefully this will be a bit more insightful and answer a few questions i've been asked. I will put links below in the video description, some which will be for websites rather than direct to the manufacturers as some trade only products are quite hard to get hold of without trade accounts.
    If any one has any questions please drop me a comment or email and ill get back to you when I can.
    As always, we appreciate the Subs, views, comments and support, all the best Kev and Claire. VP 👍👍
    Ebay link to Autokit Fallout remover:
    www.ebay.co.uk...
    The Snow foam I used in this video was an Auto Finesse product;
    www.autofinesse.com
    Ive heard great things about "Duel" products and will be using them shortly and will report in part 2 👍
    So Autovalet is a trade only supplier with different outlets across the country, the below link will get you to a website of a guy called Max, he will be able to supply you what you need.
    Link to Autovalet Supplies website for Energen (all purpose cleaner) and Shift Plus (tar and glue remover)
    www.autovaletsupplies.co.uk
    The 3m Denib sanding block
    Ive found 3m a tricky company to deal with if you haven't got a trade account so here is where I get mine from.
    The denim tool:
    refinishsystem...
    The abrasive discs:
    refinishsystem...
    I hope this helps some of you guys and gals out there, I'll get onto part 2 real soon.
    Mega!
    Kev and Claire, VP.

    Brilliant video kev
    I'm an ex self taught mobile valeter
    A few points for you
    Power washer, get one that can handle getting frozen like a nilfisk and make sure you empty as much water as possible out of it after use .
    APC on leather ain't the best
    Try a leather cleaner .
    Using your hand to rub in APC , please don't do this, it dries out your skin and can damage your nerves , please wear gloves when using it .
    Instead of the brush get a scrub pad for the seats and interior
    Tar remover your using wrong , spray on and wait 2 mins then rub off , let the product do the work instead of you rubbing the paint .
    You can get clay bars that need only water for them or clay mits that you wash the car with , don't use fairy liquid, has salt in it which damages the clay bar and paint .
    You was rubbing the clay too hard on the paint , your ment to gently glide it over the paint to pick up contaminates .
    Denibbler , please stop licking it , use soapy water instead .
    Apart from that your doing fine
    As you've learnt valeting is all trial and error and some products that work for me won't work for you.
    Keep up the good work

      Cheers for the hints and tips John. I won't reply to all of them as you know we all use products differently, I appreciate all the tips though, especially the gloves one, thinking about it ive never used gloves with it my APC, whilst it hasn't dried my hands out im sure its probably not the best for them 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️Thanks for taking the time to comment, all the best Kev. 👍👍👊👊

    I agree with regarding Honda cars. I have a 2023 Honda Civic in metallic Red. This paint is very susceptible to car park damage by other vehicle opening doors. Previously had Mercedes C Class. The paint finish was far more forgiving to minor car parking door marks from careless drivers

    AHA after last 9 odd months on snow foam cannon TFR strong. Or just spray the TFR on the green mould black spots wait wipe. I can seee unless mist it. It does attack the clear coat in runs. Never seen before. Suspect if mist it and spread microfibre will just attack the clear coat more uniform not show the runs. I like it as every car I buy is a dog to start and I don’t wish to finesse a sub £2499 out retail car just get the wheels to ping back and shine and body decontaminated to point hasn’t much wax if any less on it but clean. Black ones at point look never waxed end up rapid cut and double speed hand wax after. Is stilll a lot turn something around for margin which isn’t £2k and likely do 2/3 cars hit this. Gone are covid days pick stuff up 1300 put up 3699 and get it gone. Did i give some cars some love then !!!!!

    Licking that denib, even lightly, is a MENTAL idea. Even though modern paint should be lead free it's not meant for consumption. And many touch up paints still contain lead. Good luck. I hope nobody who watches this copies your "method", mate. WOT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.

  • @diablobarcelona
    @diablobarcelona 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    TBH, I think you need to produce more videos of a small time span. Trying to get 46 minutes of someone's life is perhaps asking a bit much. Why not make them more bitesize.... say 15 minutes? I find it hard to watch 46 in one sitting. Dunno if others feel the same. I watch a lot of Highpeak Autos content, but he keeps them short and concise.

    • @VisionPrestigeCars
      @VisionPrestigeCars  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah I thought that about half way through editing it tbh, was taking hours and I wasn't even half way through, I'll keep them a bit shorter from now on, appreciate the feedback. Kev.

    • @LCOF
      @LCOF 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      But with Highpeak, and I'm a fan of his, you don't actually learn anything and without being harsh they're all pretty much the same. I prefer long or short videos where you learn something. In this case it was perfectly reasonable to have a longer video because he was demoing products and techniques in real time.

    I like this style of video and don't mind it being slightly longer than the usual thing you find on TH-cam. At least you're trying to teach your viewers something that may be useful to them.
    Regarding the video content and the products you use (and anyone detailing cars for that matter), I'd be super paranoid about the micro particles you're exposing yourself to, some of which will end up in your lungs. I'd personally wear a good mask. The last thing I want is some gnarly cancer or respiratory disease when I'm older.

    Great post Kev. I have bought a rotary polisher now, but struggling on what compound to use, also slightly scared! Gone are they days when you could polish out a scratch with vim bathroom cleaner😂

      Nice one Brian glad you bought a rotary 👍👍👍👍You'll be fine along as you don't push too hard and keep it moving so not to build up too much heat. There is so many compounds out there it can get a bit confusing cant it 🥴🤓🤪

    Thanks for such an informative video, I have spent £300 on a jet wash I mobile valet and find the extra power makes my job so much easier obviously mindful of chips in the paint, it also comes with a long warranty and a 13 meter hose. I currently use meguairs ultimate compound or Rupees for machine polishing although 3m has been on my radar for more of a cut. Really interesting and looking forward to the second episode.

    Good video, it’s good to see someone use products that they actually use rather than sponsored stuff. Nice to see how and when you use them. 45 min is ok for me when the content is tangible. Highlighting some useful tips and tricks for a quicker clean. I think at the end of this series you could layout all the products and tools then list out what you have. Interesting about the paint depths as well, most people won’t know that and will go to far with a mop. Would be good to know how long the whole process takes from first pressure wash to polish so know how long to allow for a good clean
