His gravestone symbol is an Egyptian Ankh symbolising 'life'. A very sad ending to a very creative and talented person. Rest peacefully Ossie. The fashion world will never forget you and your contribution. 🙏❤️🌹
I'm a wee bit younger than Ossie would've been, and remember him well Paul. A genius who got swept up by some of the most exciting times in recent history, as many of us did. Some of us survived, sadly some didn't. RIP Ossie🥀
Ossie Clark’s name ranks along side sons of the great names from the sixties and seventies like Mary Quant and Bibba. Sadly it wasn’t till he was gone did people appreciate his greatness how sad. I remember reading about his death and thinking how sad. Even sadder for his sons.
RIP Ossie fashion never dies it comes round again.
Thank you. Paul 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Paul,
I remember Ozzie Clark from growing up in the 60’s. I had no idea how he died. So often these talented artistic people seem to have tragic lives, it almost seems to be the price they pay for their genius. R.I.P.
Keep ‘em coming……
A lovely tribute to this great designer.Genius is a word often misused but he’s acknowledged as a true genius.
That is VERY sad, and I’m very surprised his killer only got six years! It was murder not manslaughter…bless him. I like his grave stone..,sad it’s not kept more tidy, but the symbol of the Egyptian Ankh is nice, symbolising many aspects of life, including physical life, eternal life, immortality, death and reincarnation. The teardrop hoop over the cross symbolises the sun rising up and going over the horizon.
So I think Ozzy, or whoever thought of its design, encapsulated all of Ozzy’s thoughts, wishes and hopes there, and I hope like the sun he still shines in his new life. Love and light! 🙏
Thankyou Paul, as usual you found someone truly fascinating who actually did a lot for fashion, it was just his bad luck it was the wrong time and place bless him. He’d be amazed at the prices some of his outfits from back in the day are making now, and how very sought after they are! That must have taken you quite a few hours to say the least of research…some of these characters from back in the day lead such interesting, but dare I say slightly dodgy personal lives, which is sad…he died early 80’s, but let’s not forget that homosexuality was only legalised in Britain in 1967 and there has always been a black cloud held by many who still disagree with it , so he had that side of things to fight as well as the fashion industry, competition, new ideas etc (personally I think artificial shells would have enhanced some new design dresses, it’s just they couldn’t be made too easily it sound like…so the idea was knocked on the head!
He reminds me of Noel Edmonds when he was younger, his look with the beard etc, but now everyone is going to be asking Noel who? So on that note I beat a hasty retreat and thank you again for all your hard work and driving, searching etc!! Look forward to another Paranormal episode “when” you have had a good sleep and some lucozade for energy! Lol! Thanks again! Love Helen in Norfolk! 🙋♀️💕👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏😻🥰

6 years!!!!! Really !!!! So sad for him ❤ RIP Raymond Ozzie Clarke you did not deserve to die that way so tragic ❤
Respectful tribute to Ossie Clark. Everyone and their Auntie wanted an Ossie Clark dress back in the day...
VERY hip and sought-after now,his vintage stuff goes for thousands at auction.
Hello Paul 🙋♀️ Ossie Clark.A 1960s icon, who is largely forgotten today. His image lives on, in the famous Painting 🎨 by David Hockney: “Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy.” Percy is a white cat.🐱 Apparently Celia Bertwell had 2 cats, and David Hockney had actually painted Blanche!! Hockney told Celia not to say anything, as Percy sounded better. Another interesting video 📹 Paul, about a tragic figure from the 1960s.
Thanks for this and there is, definitely, a recurring theme though I know we should not judge.
Grave is only 27 years old and totally neglected and yet he has 2 Sons. Out of sight and out of mind.
I see this over and over again in celebrities' graves and the remaining family can't all live far away.
Sometimes it is graves only 5 years old, Sad.
What are you on about, apart from the bottom 6 Inches where the grass covers it It is in very good condition for 27 years,it looks brand new!!
Rest in Peace Ossie. Your work will never be forgotten.
A tragic end for such a talented man
An amazing talent. Such an inspiration and big part of the swinging sixties. There is a famous painting of him and Celia Birtwell, done by David Hockney at the Notting Hill flat. The engraving on his headstone is namyo renge kyo the buddhist chant. RIP Ossie.
Never heard of him Paul 🙄...what a life he had ...Such a sad ending for him ...Beautiful headstone 💜 Lovely tribute ❣
Thanks Paul. Sometimes the graveyards you check out make me feel that cremation is better, All those overgrown and neglected places.
So sad that such a talented person can have his life ended in such an tragic way but he will always be remembered for his iconic designs. Thank you for a very interesting video I had no idea of the problems and ending he incurred. When people become famous we envy them for their lifestyle not realising how much they may be going through and have to endure.
True but have you noticed that in the majority of cases, the graves are soon neglected and, surely, the family can not all live far away.
Ossie has 2 sons, for example.
Loved his clothes, very collectible these days. I had no idea he was murdered. Very sad 😞
Talented and such a sad ending of a gifted person. May he Rest In Peace🙏🏻 Thanks Paul as I have not heard of him but sad for the loss of his life in such a way. 🌹
Have shared this one with my daughter who loves the vintage fashion world and would absolutely love to own an original Ossie Clark dress. But they are staggeringly expensive. Not sure if she knows he had such a tragic end to his life. Very interesting vid Paul. Thanks for uploading this one. x J x
6 years for murder that's disgusting 👍👉

I didn’t know anything about him so thank you Paul
Ive heard the name Ossie Clark but knew very little about him as he was a little before my time so thanks for this informative video. In 1996 i was at College yet i don't have any recollection of this tragic story and you'd have thought it would have been headline news. Maybe it was but i have absolutely no memory of it
A very sad ending to someone so talented in his field , his headstone does stand out too . Thanks Paul for another great video.!
Fab video. Shocking he only got 6ys 😮😢
Excellent video as always. Well done Paul.
British 60's fashion design and music - my 2 favourite things. Never knew he died that way. Peace to all x Edit : Jay Sebring had the same looped cross on his branding. I think it's Egyptian.
Heard of Ossie from other fashion lovers in the 80’s and didn’t even know he died. V interesting to hear his life story thank you
Yes it’s a shame no never heard of him the other ones but never such a shame. Thank you for sharing that you take care. Keep safe drive careful 🙏🏽🙏🏽
The writing on the bottom of the headstone is a Buddhist chant - very interesting vid of a talented spirit and a lovely resting place ❤️🙏🏻🕊

Just a waste of a brilliant talented person,so deeply sad and upsetting outcome, to a international name in fashion 😭😭🙏🙏💔rest in eternal peace forever Thank you Paul ya friend Rodders 🤘😎🎸👑
I don't recognise the name but I recognise his face. Sounds like he was a very talented man but as time changes so dose fashion. Must have been difficult for him. Especially when he eventually came out as gay. Was still fround upon as it still is but getting better. Hopefully people will recognise being gay isn't wrong it's just the way your made. So sad he died the way he did thanks for sharing this story Paul love from Holmfirth West Yorkshire 💙 💚
Paul have you ever done rod hull or benny hill keep up the good work
Yes both on the channel
Hi, Paul . Sorry but i have never heard of this Gent , but I do recall , Vivienne Westwood designing some Punk outfits . I hope he rests easy . More importantly , I hope you are safe and well after the storm last night , Which I believe affected your home town .
Yes all good thank you 🙏
What a sad ending to the poor mans life found it interesting the story had not actually heard of him prior to the video rip ❤
The inscription at the bottom of Ossie's gravestone is the Buddhist Lotus Sutra Nam-myoho-renge-kyo
Paul have you ever done a video on Amy Winehouse?
Yes it’s on the channel
Hello Paul love your videos
Ossi death was so vicious it should have been more jail time
Rip Ossi 🦋🌹
Hi Paul, I think it's a Buddhist chant at the bottom of his stone (Nam-myoho-renge-kyo) not totally sure 😊
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is the Buddhist chant used by Nichiren Buddhists.
Thank you.. 🙏
Loved her
What sad story 😢
Did you get my donation paul
Six years for killing somebody and he had mental health problems. I would like to no who his lawyer was. if he had got himself some support and advise regards his business he might have ended up a multimillionare. Like you said they always end up going down the tube. but to be fair to him the tax rate in the seveties was something like 95p in the pound, you couldnt blame people for sending there money offshore
His
Lover did not love him sad 😮
So sad lost HE WAS GREST MAN PAUL 🎉🎉
💔🙏
Hi Paul, this one could also go into the crime files due to Ozzie being murdered?
Yes, for some reason I didn’t introduce it as one, filmed so many that day in July my brain was fog lol
Hi paul
Why do you keep looking back as you’re walking along? Are you being followed?
I was in that cemetery very early, before anyone else and before it opened as there was a big hole in the wall. So I’m always being vigilant and conscious of my surroundings. 🙏
Oh I see. I know that cemetery well as my grandfather and grandmother are buried there. Also an uncle. I also visit cemetery’s especially my local one, Chingford mount. I like the architecture and beautiful surroundings. Thanks for your videos.
George
Rest in peace
Never heard of him sorry
That’s ok, that’s why I like to do these ones so people remember them 🙏
