people including me have problem with joker portrayal in this movie. so what actually happened behind the scene is WB told David Ayer to reshoots this movie to make it more fun and funny, problem is David Ayer is serious director, so WB hired trailer company to do marketing and editing without David Ayer's involvement. the result is this movie. David Ayer said his cut is exist and he want to release it but he need to wait WB greenlight. he already post 2 scenes, first one is joker scene he appeared in climax battle, another scene is joker henchmen with panda and batman mask rushing into Arkham asylum which is similar to what this movie did but with different tone (serious tone). he also post a few pictures with each character

The issue with the suicide squad was studio interference. Allegedly there is another cut of the movie that David ayer put forward that will never see the light of day, but from what I hear via various leaks it is infinitely better, but was considered to dark even by WB

David Ayer said he had to sit and clap while the executives tried to turn the movie he worked so hard into Deadpool. Because that's what was getting positive attention at the time. And when the movie did bad they blamed David and he took responsibility for something he didn't do. Today we have a new regime again. But I highly doubt that James Gunn is interested in releasing a film that makes his movie look like shit. So I have no hopes for an AYER CUT.
The Deadshot intentionally missing scene is meant to illustrate two points. 1) You just in the previous two scenes, saw Waller kill people she worked with and who trusted her just because they weren’t “cleared” for intel and she’s supposed to be a “good guy.” Deadshot not taking his shot on Harley is meant to show you, there are some contracts Deadshot won’t take for moral reasons and you can’t dangle a carrot on a stick and expect him to fall for it. 2) It’s also meant to illustrate Deadshot is street smart, not to mention just saw Waller kill a bunch of her own people, so maybe trusting her to deliver for you isn’t the best move, he would know someone like Amanda Waller just says what she wants to get what she wants. She wouldn’t go through all the trouble of recruiting him just to set him free. Sorry I’m a HUGE DC guy. Flash is my favorite outta the traditional DC heroes, but Reverse Flash is my favorite villain and John Constantine is my favorite character.
also to not forget, prior to Harley getting corrupted by the joker, she is a fully qualified Psychotherapist, so she's not actually dumb, she does however, play it up to fool others. it's fairly accurate to the origin story, it remains to be seen if she has a poison immunity she got from Poison Ivy (they were besties in the DCAU where she was introduced and she got various injections derived from ivy's blood, so she's immune to her toxic nature). also to note, she is also a very capable gymnast, so she's more agile and dexterous than most in this house we love us our killer queen
As I’m sure many commenters have pointed out, Harley Quinn is one of those rare characters that actually made her debut in Batman The Animated Series (to give Joker an accomplice similar to Batman’s) and the character was such a fan favorite of the show she quickly was adapted to the comics. Her comic book run is more in tune with Task Force X (The Suicide Squad) thus why she was intro in this film.
Glad you enjoyed it. It's an OK movie, but never hated it. I always gave props to DC for even making the film, something different and never thought I would see Suicide Squad made into movie.It's like the Dirty Dozen with a comic book twist. Harley Quinn was definitely a highlight, kid me would never have thought seeing a cartoon character make the transition to live action. Also, Amanda Waller is great in this movie too, spot on and great casting.

I've always felt it was pretty easy to be crazier than the joker. Its why he's so terrifying because he's not actually crazy everything he does, every action he takes is planned and he's always in control. He's not mad, he just acts that way unlike the other villains like two face, penguin or even catwoman you can't anticipate the joker because he has no compulsions, no patterns you can use to trap him.

Same with I think Batman Brave and Bold spends ages in an asylum till Batman comes out of retirement then comes out to drive him to kill him. The long, long term plan to turn Robin into a clone/mind transfered version of himself in case he's killed. The numerous other examples of complex plans with redundancies he employs to cause chaos, the fact he has as far as I know never actually been diagnosed with any mental disorder by multiple psychiatrists, psychiatrists in the case of Harley he essentially drove mad and made them fall in love with him. The very fact he repeatedly states "We're all just one bad day away from this" in regards to his actions shows that he's well aware what he's doing would be considered evil by society at large then does it anyway. I vaguely recall someone once saying he even know's he's a comic book character like Deadpool and responds accordingly as nothing matters.
@@rycarious That's from one of Dc's and comics most legendary and iconic comics ever. Arkham Asylum by Grant Morrison. That's also from Grant Morrison's batman run, Scott Snyder's Batman run, Metal by Snyder, Death Metal by Snyder and even the recent 3 Jokers else world by Johns all tell us this. Not to mention that since both the current Batman series and the current Tec series are building from Morrison's batman run, that's the literal canon right now as I'm typing this. Joker is sane and just acts crazy.

Harley Quinn was an OC in Batman the Animated Series, which is on the short list of best superhero series, animated or otherwise. Quinn was so great, they brought her into the comics after.

This movie definitely isn't as bad as people call it. Although, I sure would like to see David Ayer's actual vision. He says it's as different as Zack Snyder's Justice League is from the theatrical JL movie (and the difference was incredibly big and entirely for the better). amanda waller is one of the people that discover batmans identity very easily, amanda and batman has a long rivalry between them but through out the years she learns how to trust and show respect for batman and she is the reason why their is a futuristic batman and she named the project batman beyond
Harley isn't a comic character, atleast not originally, she was made especially for the animated shows and was sos uccesful that she became a thing in the comics. But basically yeah, the origin is the same
Watch the second! It's absolutely fantastic, with an actual plot. And actually a suicide squad, not just not one guy getting killed. It is so. much. better. James Gunn is a genius.
Newfie if you want to see a good representation of a task force x mission check out the justice leauge unlimited animated episode titled Task force X ,plus I would recommend watching the whole animated series it's prob one of the best animated superhero series ever
Batman, the master tactician. Ambushes the guy on a shopping trip with his young daughter then let’s her stand between him and the criminal with a gun. Pro Batman moves.
I hope someday we get the Ayer Cut because the theatrical version is really bad , but this extended one is the best we've got. At least it's better than the sequel.

Deadshot isn’t really a bad guy. He’s a contract killer with morals. He found something he’s good at that he can make money to take care of his daughter. Pretty much all the versions of him I’ve seen he’s always cared about his daughter. The reason Deadshot didn’t shoot Harley he actually explains in the bar scene that he doesn’t kill women or children. I do like Leto’s version of the Joker especially with the silver teeth and tattoo smile on his hand. This is the Joker after he kills Robin and Batman almost kills him but instead knocks his teeth out.

To this day i can't exactly tell when Joker lies down surrounded with knives & guns in a semi circle formation that almost look like The Omega....a symbol of Darkseid, or just non referential coincidence. Cause Joker has a part in Bruce's future timeline in ZSJL.
everyone gives Leto s**t about his version of joker but if change the look get rid of the tattoos and the grill he's actually pretty good the voice the mannerisms the craziness all really well done

26:25 it makes no sense because they don’t set it up at all in the movie. They are borrowing from 89 Batman where Joker origin happens when Jack falls in the vat of chemicals. Quinn here is allowing Joker to put her through the same process. The acid is extremely toxic and would kill anyone else. At the very least, it would cause excruciating pain and scarring. Which totally comes across the way they are making out in it. No, this is not Harley Quinn’s actual origin story and I hope they don’t hold to it within the DCU either.
I think you would really enjoy the fox series gotham it gives backstory to a large majority of main dc characters and has really good storylines. It follows bruce Wayne as a kid after his parents murder and Jim gordon who try’s to find out who killed bruce’s parents

Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman was inspired by that series. It's his favourite comic, Miller is his favourite writer and a frequent collaborator. Zack Snyder's whole vision for the DCEU was heavily influenced by Miller's Dark knight universe and the tone of that world. Zack Snyder was in charge when this movie was made. Yet fans couldn't work out why they made the choices with Leto's Joker. they still could workout what comics series this version of the Joker was from. I guess comics really are a very, very very niche market.
This movie got terrible reviews by Critics and also no liked working with Jared Leto, in fact the other actors were afraid of him as he was still in character when the cameras stoped rolling.
It is INSANE how James Gunn took the same premise in his 2021 film “THE Suicide Squad” and made it work far more beautifully/perfectly than this one. “THE Suicide Squad” is absolutely phenomenal, can’t wait for you to check that one out
I still don't get it why so many people hate this movie. Of course, it's not great.. but still pretty enjoyable I think ;) And one note about Snyder Cut... It's not like extended version of Justice League, it's basically a whole different movie/experience
This movie in my opinion is better than the one they made to replace it. And if you want more Harley Quinn Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey is great.

I feel that Suicide Squad has a strong first and third act but a miserable second. It’s just a lot of walking and talking. A lot of good elements that just didn’t come together in the end. But Gunn’s second SS movie is a lot better. Speaking of second chances, I definitely recommend skipping Justice League and just go with Synder’s cut. The Whedon cut is a mess (although it does have my favorite joke that unfortunately didn’t carry over into the Synder cut).
actually the first and third act for this movie is reshoots version. according to David Ayer, the first act is he introduce each character more naturally, no Amanda waller speaks to gov official. the third act also got changed, El Diablo supposed to live while jun moone supposed to died. joker also appeared and told Harley to follow him but Harley refused, so joker throw grenade and gone. based on your comment, you obviously not fans of David Ayer movie. ayer's cut is using same tone and structure as his previous movie called Fury (2014). go watch that movie and you will understand his directing is darker tone

Suicide squad is David ayers version of the dirty dozen, I never listen to critics or fanboys,thoroughly enjoyed it.
Harley isn't a comic character, atleast not originally, she was made especially for the animated shows and was sos uccesful that she became a thing in the comics.
But basically yeah, the origin is the same
Harley Quinn is basically a case of Stockholm Syndrome. Joker mentally and physically broke her.
This movie basically shows some mutants, as does THE Suicide Squad. Keep watching :)

Batman, the master tactician. Ambushes the guy on a shopping trip with his young daughter then let’s her stand between him and the criminal with a gun. Pro Batman moves.
The stuff they jumped into is supposed to be acidic/toxic that’s why all the colors were melting off of them.
I hope someday we get the Ayer Cut because the theatrical version is really bad , but this extended one is the best we've got. At least it's better than the sequel.

Deadshot isn’t really a bad guy. He’s a contract killer with morals. He found something he’s good at that he can make money to take care of his daughter. Pretty much all the versions of him I’ve seen he’s always cared about his daughter. The reason Deadshot didn’t shoot Harley he actually explains in the bar scene that he doesn’t kill women or children. I do like Leto’s version of the Joker especially with the silver teeth and tattoo smile on his hand. This is the Joker after he kills Robin and Batman almost kills him but instead knocks his teeth out.

To this day i can't exactly tell when Joker lies down surrounded with knives & guns in a semi circle formation that almost look like The Omega....a symbol of Darkseid, or just non referential coincidence. Cause Joker has a part in Bruce's future timeline in ZSJL.
Harley’s first appearance was Batman the Animated Series. She didn’t appear in the comics until after.
Can’t wait for him to watch THE Suicide Squad. It’s night and day compared to this film in terms of both quality and adapting the source material.

Yes. There is a marvel character named Enchantress. Due to how generic the name is, it can’t really be trademarked the same way Batman or Spider-man can be. The word “Enchantress” existed before either DC or Marvel, so neither company could really claim it as solely theirs.
I wish they kept the Joker scenes they deleted and had Enchantress as the secondary antagonist.

26:25 it makes no sense because they don’t set it up at all in the movie. They are borrowing from 89 Batman where Joker origin happens when Jack falls in the vat of chemicals. Quinn here is allowing Joker to put her through the same process. The acid is extremely toxic and would kill anyone else. At the very least, it would cause excruciating pain and scarring. Which totally comes across the way they are making out in it. No, this is not Harley Quinn’s actual origin story and I hope they don’t hold to it within the DCU either.
I think you would really enjoy the fox series gotham it gives backstory to a large majority of main dc characters and has really good storylines. It follows bruce Wayne as a kid after his parents murder and Jim gordon who try’s to find out who killed bruce’s parents

Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman was inspired by that series. It's his favourite comic, Miller is his favourite writer and a frequent collaborator. Zack Snyder's whole vision for the DCEU was heavily influenced by Miller's Dark knight universe and the tone of that world. Zack Snyder was in charge when this movie was made. Yet fans couldn't work out why they made the choices with Leto's Joker. they still could workout what comics series this version of the Joker was from.
I guess comics really are a very, very very niche market.

last month Ayer told fans to post release ayer's cut in twitter. then last week's we got news, Gunn said WB don't have plan to release that cut.

I don't like this one much but it does have set up for the future and it's own amazing moments, helicopter crash surviving is BS tho XD
This movie got terrible reviews by Critics and also no liked working with Jared Leto, in fact the other actors were afraid of him as he was still in character when the cameras stoped rolling.

It is INSANE how James Gunn took the same premise in his 2021 film “THE Suicide Squad” and made it work far more beautifully/perfectly than this one. “THE Suicide Squad” is absolutely phenomenal, can’t wait for you to check that one out

This movie in my opinion is better than the one they made to replace it. And if you want more Harley Quinn Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey is great.
i just know this is not a bad movie originally because it got a "studio cut", which you know is not gonna make sense, i pray to god you never watch the Joss Wheadon Justice League, but instead watch the Snyder Cut
Justice League has moment we can never get in Ths Snyder Cut, most notably when Superman Laughs. We need both films.
This movie has many flaws but i really think it got shit on a little too much. Luckily Will Smith and Margot Robbie carried it.
This is not a good movie, it's fun at times! But the second one is unparalleled compared to this one.

I feel that Suicide Squad has a strong first and third act but a miserable second. It’s just a lot of walking and talking. A lot of good elements that just didn’t come together in the end. But Gunn’s second SS movie is a lot better.
Speaking of second chances, I definitely recommend skipping Justice League and just go with Synder’s cut. The Whedon cut is a mess (although it does have my favorite joke that unfortunately didn’t carry over into the Synder cut).
actually the first and third act for this movie is reshoots version.
according to David Ayer, the first act is he introduce each character more naturally, no Amanda waller speaks to gov official. the third act also got changed, El Diablo supposed to live while jun moone supposed to died. joker also appeared and told Harley to follow him but Harley refused, so joker throw grenade and gone.
based on your comment, you obviously not fans of David Ayer movie. ayer's cut is using same tone and structure as his previous movie called Fury (2014). go watch that movie and you will understand his directing is darker tone
