- Hi! Today's video is on how to apply nail transfer foil. I will be showing you how I use my nail transfer foils step by step with some helpful tips and tricks! There are some different ways of applying nail foil, but my method will use nail glue and gel polish top coat. I will also be using all nail art products from Temu that I showed in my last Temu haul. Thank you all so much for watching! I was doing some experimenting with nail foil today and found out you can use gel polish as a replacement for nail foil glue. Just as long as it has a tacky layer it works great!
I have used foil glue, I’ve used foil gel. Has taken me much frustration and many tries to get the foil to stick at all.
I have to say the old fashioned glue that air dries works far better than the gel cured with a lamp.

I didn’t have much success with star glue. If it’s applied too thick or thin, it doesn’t work. The gel foil transfer glue is a game changer! Thin, even layer - cure for 90 seconds and transfer foil. I get a clean, full transfer every time.
I’m sorry it didn’t work for you. I’ve never tried any other nail foil glues so I didn’t have anything to compare it to but it worked alright for me. I would definitely consider trying out gel foil glue. Thank you for the tip!
What brand of foil gel do you use please ❤.. I have zero success with the star glue. I get a full transfer about half of the time 😢
@@jenpierce2385 I just use the Mobray foil gel from Shein. I’ve heard the Makartt foil gel (Amazon) is great too.

Thank you for this! I bought some transfer foil off temu but thought it was self adhesive so when it arrived I thought it was defective 😅 Going to try now with polish and glue and see which works best!

so is the glue just applied to your bare, natural nail? How long after you apply the glue do you wait to apply the foil?
You can apply it to your bare nail or over nail polish. I wait until the nail foil glue dries. The amount of time to wait for it to dry may vary depending on what brand of nail foil glue you have. Hope this helps!

Can we use simple top coat as a nail tranfer glue if we dont have thaat glue?

Do I have to buy special glue? Can I use base coat?
I’m guessing that you could use a gel base coat. I haven’t tried base coat with foil but I’ve tried it with gel polish and it works well as long as there is a tacky layer. Hope this helps!

The foil glue I used was air dry but if you use a gel foil glue you cure it before applying the foil. Thanks for watching!
i think i tried foils once, and the topcoat shrunk/crinkled and looked terrible after? did i do it wrong? wanting to try again, but not interested in using gel or uv machines. thanks!
I’ve never used regular nail polish topcoat over nail foil, but it could be the brand of topcoat you’re using.
With nail foils regular top coats seem to kinda eat the foil it's so weird.. I'm pretty sure people use water based topcoat if they don't use gels (UNT for instance yes it's a peel off base coat but can be used for foil and chromes then you can apply your topcoat of choice).. there is a way Sista I promise you that.. search here on TH-cam.. type in foils without gel products 🥰
What happens if you rub the foil on so much and still can’t get it to fully transfer onto a nail or fake nail

How long do you cure for? I cure mine for 90s and let mine cool down for about 10s. Do your nail glue air dry?
I normally like to do 120 just to be sure, but it depends on the brand of gel. The nail glue I use did air dry. Thank you for watching!

You probably can but I haven’t tried it
No, not sticky enough for that. You will need a rhinestone glue or builder gel for stones.

Yes, you can use foil on fake nails! I have a video I posted about a month ago and I use nail foil on a practice hand. I’m glad the video helped!💖

That's how it's done!? 😂😂 Wow, do I feel dumb right now!! I just assumed u pick the pic u want to use, put glue on the nail & then cut out ur chosen nail art foil pic & apply the entire pic & leave it there! No wonder I couldn't get a hang of it! So stupid! 🤦♀️🤦♀️
