Don't feel bad I bought some and tried to transfer them onto my wet top coat and with the shiny side down. I quickly figured out that was wrong when the foil and polish just slipped off my nail. 🤣

I bought the complete kit from Makartt off of Amazon a few days ago and it arrived this morning. I got the one with two sets of foils,(the more colorful floral ones you had and the other is sorta wild ombre snd tiedye swirled colors), and the 2 bottles of glue. I just tried as I was watching your video and I found out what I was doing wrong.. I was putting the foil down on the colored side towards my nail! 🙄🤦 So I watched carefully and retried and it just worked out really great! It looks so good and I love it! Very helpful. Thank you! 🤗

Who else ADORES the fact that you can match your hands and feet!🥰 I've been using nail wraps/decals for 2 years now bc they are easy.. but I wanted something I could match my toes to. I am watching this to prepare for doing my gel foil nails for the first time😁 fingers crossed! Thanks for making this video!
I have such trouble with foils so I have watched this video a few times as I attempt them in real-time 😅 But, as for the gel-x dupes, I have flat, weak nails that grow upwards so I feel like this helps my nails have some shape and helps train me to shape better as well 😊 I feel like they stay on for a long time as well and using peel base on top, I don't have to soak off and do tips every time therefore, protecting my nails too 🙂 I feel like this was the longest explanation ever, lol.
This is one of my favorite videos due to watching after purchasing the foils and needing great advice. I personally haven't tried the "gel x" nails but I'm a few days Into nail school and after reading up on this would love to try them out. Ty for your great videos

Wow they turned out sooo good!! I just vannot get them on totally although I am very precise but I alwas seem to have empty spots. Although i use the glue that comes with it. Love these!!

I tried for the last couple weeks with Beetle's foil transfer glue, and just could NOT get a full transfer without blank spots, no matter what I did. So I finally said fine, and ordered the Makartt transfer glue, got it a couple days ago and tried it tonight, and whaddya know, it actually works! I still had some trouble with the wrinkles, causing some very small blank areas, but since I was using an "abstract pretty colors" foil, that wasn't a huge deal. I saw in some other video 'round here that warming up the foil slightly could make it more "elastic" and reduce the wrinkling. Anyone else tried that? I'll keep playing with some of my "pretty colors" foils until I really get it down pat, before I try again with the floral foils. But yeah, the Makartt transfer glue makes it work! Hurray! I'll save the other "foil glue" as a sticky surface for applying mylar flakes, which otherwise just fly everywhere.
If you try anything , try their foil glue . I really don’t care for their polygel . It’s way to soft and stringy for me . I prefer a more firm polygel .
Gorgeous set of foiled nails sweetie🤩😘 I have bought a ton of different foils this winter. But it has been hard to get a good foil gel glue for me. Amazon do not ship to Norway so I finally found some overpriced Markartt gel glue on Ebay. I find it curious to why they sell them in 2 bottles 🤔 But I am dying to try this glue out since other glue gels has been a pain to work with 😜I have been waiting for ever for it to arrive though🤷♀️ But I guess I am not going anywhere soon, lol And by the way I desperately need to learn from you to make shorter videos 🙈😁🤗 Thank you so much for sharing 😘I really hope that you and your family are safe and well ❤️❤️

Yes , You can use foils over top of regular nail polish. You can also use this foil gel over that regular nail polish as long as the nail polish is completely dry.

good video, bought this set and was trying on my short natural nail and find it does not stick, does it only work on false nails, as on a false tip i tryed ot and it worked, just nor on my natural nail?
How long should I cure in a LED/CCFL lamp? My lamp takes 20 secs for colour and top and base. 30 seconds for really dark colours. I can't work out how long I should be cutting transfer gel in such a powerful lamp
I gave nail foil a first try today (on practice stand nails) and I couldn't get the full thing to stick for the life of me. I feel like I either didn't press enough or didn't put enough glue on.
I am totally not a nail person. Could I use the glue over reg polish and seal with a reg top coat. Just one accent nail. I haven't had polish on in over three years but this looks fun.
I think you could do it . But you still need a lamp to cure the foil gel . You will have to be sure your regular polish is completely dry or it will be a gummy mess .
After you put the gel on, cure it for 60 seconds, do you wipe it before you place the foil transfers on? I know some you tubers do, but not sure if it’s necessary.
As long as your normal polish is completely dry you can use the foil gel on top of it . Remember , you still have to cure the foil gel in a lamp or it won’t work .
Yes , just off the shine off the top coat . Apply the foil glue , cure the glue if it’s a light curing glue. Or if it’s a air dry glue , let it air dry and then foil and then topcoat.
Yes , to use this gel foil glue you need a lamp . There is other foil glues that air dry that you don’t need a lamp for . But those don’t t work as well .
I have some holographic foils but cannot tell which side goes on the nails as they are identical. Is there something I should be looking for to tell the difference?
Just put some glue or foil gel on a test nail and see what side sticks . Then mark it . Or you can scratch the surface and see which side comes off with the scratches and that’s the side .

good video, bought this set and was trying on my short natural nail and find it does not stick, does it only work on false nails, as on a false tip i tryed ot and it worked, just nor on my natural nail?
It should work . You have to cure the gel in a lamp .
I don't use UV required products often,however this is a must!!! If you want full coverage foils just get this.
This is also Led lamp curing as well .
I say uv for all light curing, my husband builds signs bad habit.
How long should I cure in a LED/CCFL lamp? My lamp takes 20 secs for colour and top and base. 30 seconds for really dark colours. I can't work out how long I should be cutting transfer gel in such a powerful lamp

I gave nail foil a first try today (on practice stand nails) and I couldn't get the full thing to stick for the life of me. I feel like I either didn't press enough or didn't put enough glue on.

I am totally not a nail person. Could I use the glue over reg polish and seal with a reg top coat. Just one accent nail. I haven't had polish on in over three years but this looks fun.
I think you could do it . But you still need a lamp to cure the foil gel . You will have to be sure your regular polish is completely dry or it will be a gummy mess .
After you put the gel on, cure it for 60 seconds, do you wipe it before you place the foil transfers on? I know some you tubers do, but not sure if it’s necessary.
No , with this glue you do not wipe it .

As long as your normal polish is completely dry you can use the foil gel on top of it . Remember , you still have to cure the foil gel in a lamp or it won’t work .

No . Let me know how long they stay on with this foil glue . I don’t think they will stay long at all .

Yes , just off the shine off the top coat . Apply the foil glue , cure the glue if it’s a light curing glue. Or if it’s a air dry glue , let it air dry and then foil and then topcoat.

Their polygel is too soft and stringy for me . But this glue is good and their fans .

Yes , to use this gel foil glue you need a lamp . There is other foil glues that air dry that you don’t need a lamp for . But those don’t t work as well .

I have some holographic foils but cannot tell which side goes on the nails as they are identical. Is there something I should be looking for to tell the difference?
Just put some glue or foil gel on a test nail and see what side sticks . Then mark it . Or you can scratch the surface and see which side comes off with the scratches and that’s the side .

You can’t use polish to apply foil ..... if that’s what you mean ?
