That hood is heavy because it isn’t a full true carbon fiber hood, it is fiberglass with carbon fiber overlayed on the topside. Typical process for cheap “carbon fiber” hoods made in China like VIS. I’ll bet that vis hood weight as much as or more than the oem hood. Instead of a sharpie, use toothpaste to transfer the mark to the hood from the pins.
How much would you charge to get this done man? My wife and I both just got Seibon hoods for our subies and live in CA. I’ve done most of our own mods from baking headlights to suspension but am for sure dreading putting these latches on lol. Maybe a drive to AZ will be in order...
This is not Seibon. It is a VIS Racing VS2 hood. Seibons don't have the rear heat extraction vent. I love my VIS hood, it just sucks that they're almost the same weight as the stock hood lol
I just did mine but I only drilled a hold on the bottom big enough for my finger so you can’t see the bracket on the bottom at all
Pretty sure on that hood you gotta swap the stock hood latch on to the aftermarket hood. Seen it done on other videos/channels.

Its not the factory hood latch thats weak, its the fact that the mount on the hood for the latch is basically glued to the hood and has no strength
No one said otherwise, the latch on the seibon hood is what comes apart.
Dude mine rubs on the corner like that too. And it drives me fucking insane! Fittme t is OK but it's def off. And just enough it's noticeable.
