Actually, carbon dioxide is the gas of life. I hate to break it to you but you breath it out all the time. Dr. William Happer, a renowned physicist at Princeton, has a lecture on this very issue. According to him, CO2 concentration can double with only a minute change in the earth's temperature. So much for being a GHG.

Who has 20 minutes to charge an EV!! My brother's house burned down by charging his EV!! It melted the siding on THREE other homes because of the intense heat!! Then they had trouble putting it out! My brother is still fighting with insurance!!! Terrible vehicles!!

They are not safe, not one bit. I am sorry to hear what happened to your brother.
If you want look up the channel Change Drive as you will get the absolute truth about EV’s. I have spent the last 4 years taking a really deep dive into these EV’s and just how dangerous they are.
Did you hear about the South Korean EV batter plant? A single EV battery cell caught fire on the floor. Within 15 seconds the plant filled with thick toxic black smoke. It killed 22 people and sent many more to hospital.
If you have kids don’t put your kids in these cars. If you park in an under ground parking lot scope the garage out for EV’s and know where the exits are.
The EV market is on life support. Without billions in govt subsidies the EV market would already be buried 6 feet under.
Many insurance companies now won’t give you insurance in your EV or house insurance if you have an EV.
Even China is in trouble with their EV’s as many many have died now from the cheaply made EV’s.
Another thing, 9 out of 10 road accidents that involve an EV and a gas powered vehicle result in a fatality in the gas powered cars because the EV’s are so much heavier and it’s simple inertia/physics that the heavier something is the impacts are much greater and it takes a much longer range to stop them.
Trudeau has wasted a good 50 billion in bribes getting automakers to come to Canada but look what has happened in last 2 weeks. Ford was given hundreds of millions to build electric trucks. They cancelled that project and instead will build big gas guzzling super duty trucks instead. So shouldn’t we get a refund from Ford?
Then last week a company set to build an EV battery factory in Kingston Ontario. They cancelled the project because demand for EV’s is really really low and a deal with China to get components went belly up. So again will we get our billions back?
Trust me, I would never lie to anyone. These EV’s cost on average $6745USD a year to maintain. They are not cheaper or need less maintenance than a gas powered car.
And they are anything but green. It takes an enormous amount of power generated by fossil fuels to make these EV’s and especially the batteries. Their is an EV battery plant in State of Kansas. They had to beg the state to keep a coal energy facility open just to have power needed to make the EV batteries
Volkswagen one of the richest automakers is in deep financial trouble now because they went all in on EV’s thinking if you build them they will come. And they have had to recall hundreds of thousands of their EV’s due to saftey issues. Volkswagen is facing two huge lawsuits now. One is a class action over the saftey issues and another one is a shipping company that was shipping EV’s from Europe and an EV VW got fire. The crew escaped with their lives but nobody could put the fire out. They just let the ship drift in the ocean for 2 weeks until the ship finally sank. So VW is facing a 450 million dollar lawsuit due to it.
And now VW has an EV plant in Brussels. They just shut it down for 6 weeks and talk it may never re-open. Will put 3800 ppl out of work.
Nobody really wants these contraptions. And try to sell one, these cars depreciate so fast, some even losing 1/3-1/2 their original value in the first 12 months alone. Nobody wants to buy used batteries.
And speaking about batteries. Your battery’s come out. You take it in and your told you need a new battery. If under warranty… they replace it, out of warranty your looking at 5-35 thousand to replace it. And you think your getting a new battery. Nope they are taking good cells out of dead batteries, packing them up together in a battery housing and that’s the battery you get be it under warranty or out of pocket. So your getting a refurbished battery but they don’t tell you that.
I wish I could go across this country talking about the EV’s and the scam they really are. Tesla and believe Ford are being sued for lying about their battery charge ranges.
Tesla is now renting out old abandoned fields and parking lots across the USA because they can’t sell what they are making so sitting on 6-9 months of inventory. Same is happening for others too. Tesla just laid off 8800 workers.
So the next time Trudeau or his gang say electric vehicles will create top paying green jobs it’s all lies. He has sunk hundreds of billions into this garbage and we will never see a return in our money. A top expert said it would take the next 2-3 generations or like 75-100 years to even break even on the money Trudeau and his band of loons have spent.
EV’s are not the future. It’s just a very expensive failed experiment and we the tax payers are on the hook for all of it. Yup isn’t green energy just fabulous!!

Why do ‘they’ always say ‘x% of the emissions from’ some year, in this case 2005? Presumably that number is a finite number, is well known and published. What is the purpose of not just saying the exact target number? To the average person, a percentage of some unknown number is completely meaningless, almost as useless as the people in government creating these essentially fictional targets.

The increasing costs of climate change are well documented. For example, the Canadian Climate Institute's report, Damage Control: Reducing the Costs of Climate Impacts in Canada , estimates that by 2030, Canada could face annual losses to real GDP of $35 billion.

In 2012 The Harper conservatives cut 4000 jobs -from Parks
Canada, That included a number of scientists who were
studying the affects of climate change together with the
unprecedented spread of the pine beetle throughout the
wilderness of Alber ta into the forests of BC and beyond. A
article I stumbled upon described these forests as having
been abandoned, I might add abandoned by the conservative
    government,
Harper was in power up to 2015, he toted a balanced budget,
why did he not act? He cleared out 4000 jobs along with
scientists and deemed them as surplus, and then abandoned
an already out of control situation, That's what conservatives
do they bleed the country dry, von't consider global warming a
reality Every country I the the world is in agreement, but not
our clever conservatives,. They will burn us all!l Now considering that the canadians conservatives don't really believe in global warming, like the rest of the world, and everybody else just keeps driving their big tank around town, due to the rocks in there head......Vote liberal

You may not consider it a pollutant but it IS a greenhouose gas and contributes to global warming. Ross is talking about measures to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. When he talks about the carbon tax it is just a shorthand for the tax on GHG emissions.

@@andrewbaldwin4454 You need to get informed by a renowned physicist. Dr. William Happer of Princeton University has a very good presentation on green house gases. It turns out that water vapor has the highest effect out of all the green house gases. The present level of carbon dioxide, according to him, could double and only affect temperature by about 0.5 degrees C. However, it would assist in plant growth which would improve food production.
