    I used to think I was dumb because I was always double checking things and always looking for more information to see if I was wrong. I wouldn’t just take what I thought was true to be true until I’ve had it confirmed. Now I feel people who don’t do that are the dumb ones.

    Having children who have reciently been through school and university I can say that it's no longer an "Education" system it's a "Test passing system" for students and a money making system for the companies selling the courses.

      My big sister was born in 'Pindi in 1947. She's seventy five and doesn't remember anything about Pakistan/India until about 1953.
      Of course, most ordinary folk were still very pro-British then, anyway, as you know. It was only the Congress-Wallahs and troublemakers that kicked up a fuss.
      Where were you born and raised, incidentally? Have you ever been back to the sub-continent? I miss it dreadfully at times - particularly the hill stations in the hot weather.

    It's ashame that we're at a point as a country where politicians use this type of language to appeal to the masses. Surely now we're no longer part of the EU and are able to make our 'own laws' there should be no issue? Politicians have dragged us down this route, preferring soundbites and easy arguments to actual facts and evidence and a lot of our population seem unable to see through it.

      The current laws are adequate. If people come illegally at an airport they are sent straight back. If boats are intercepted in the channel they should also be sent straight back. The law is no different just because they are in a rubber boat. By bringing them to England the Border force are creating the problem.     Let's be honest - in the last 10 years or so this country has become an absolute cesspit. It's a depressing place to live. I'm far more concerned about the ignorant and prejudiced taking over than I am about those coming across in a dinghy. The increase in hate has become almost unbearable. Myself and my partner are working hard to take our family elsewhere.

It's simply a form of bear baiting, which wouldn't be tolerated if the host was considered to be in any way of a right wing persuasion. I've said previously, nobody does hate quite like O'Brien, but because he's a leftie he's allowed to get away with it and is careful to only ever insult caucasians, as he knows that'll never result in any sanctions.

    This type of person will literally latch onto to the tiniest fig leaf they can to explain away their behavior. "The nazis didn't say 'swarmed and invaded.'" They said, 'invaded and swarmed.' That's completely opposite, so how can you say it's the same?" It gets to the point if absurdity.

    As someone with Jewish ancestry I found this conversation really disturbing that the caller could not or would not understand what he was saying about this kind of language. Thankyou James for holding him to account. I hope he used Google to his benefit!

      Tbh, apart from not seeing my family ‘back home’ quite so regularly, I can’t think of one aspect of my life that I would be better off in, if I hadn’t left.
      It honestly pains me to see what has become of the U.K. over the last decade or so!

    I wonder where the threshold is for these people, for swarm and invade to become applicable? I would hazard a guess; it is very close to zero. Insects swarm and armed aggressors invade. So Bravermans and this man's dehumanization and othering language is undeniable. The exact steps taken in 1930s Germany.

    There is the old idea that "education" is there to bring out what is inside of a person. Eucare. This person does indeed education to put something inside of him. There are a lot of people using the term "woke" not understanding what it really means. It means empathy at it's most basic level. It means understanding real history and not a list of battles and dates. When my headmaster told me the core meaning behind "education" and "empathy" it changed my view significantly.
    This person is seemingly past that point.
    The first weapons in a war against another people are "words". Careless words, jokey words, taunting words, aggressive words, violent words...then once you have dehumanized the oppressed you follow up with actions. That was the 1930's.

      So always check and check again your assumptions and the places you get your information. However, be careful as more places exist with more misinformation.

    This caller does not even know what the conversation is. James OBrien asks him a question and his brain seems to translate this into a different question in his head. Out of all the James OBrien phone ins and calls I’ve listened to, this one definitely frightens me the most.
