I've noticed within the last 20 some odd years how often products even ones made by reputable companies are just poorly constructed junk. The over reliance on cheap quality parts and labor (more often than not from china) is actually costing us MORE in the long run. I've literally had to replace my PC gaming controller 5 times within the last 4 years, and had to get 3 separate computer mice. All of them have random buttons/switches stop functioning and analog joysticks begin to drift/stick. Meanwhile controllers from my 30 year old n64 still function perfectly fine. I would much rather pay double for a product, and have that product last 10+ years, vs paying 50% for a product and having to replace it once a year. I'm sick of cheap crap.
This is what late stage Capitalism looks like. Never ending increasing profits is only viable for so long, eventually quality has to suffer as there is no where else to squeeze out more profits. This is partially why they keep bringing immigrants into Western Nations. They can reduce wages and increase profits for a short while longer. If you are sick of it, you need to spend more time actively being involved in politics and actually take the time to meet with and influence your Elected Representatives.
Very senior level managers are only let go for lack of leadership... very bad decision making... or failed projects & poor strategic vision.
