Why choose Flesh and blood over MetaZoo? I know it’s a different game but so is Magic compared to this. 🤔
@@tanner882 Flesh and Blood is highly gameplay-focused and features much less variance than for example MtG. Metazoo is doing a great job in terms of building an IP around the Cards. Fab cares the most about the actual gameplay experience (and that gameplay is tight af i swear).
@@tanner882 I didn't really have a choice, when I started Flesh and Blood I didn't know what MetaZoo was.
I am not sure how MetaZoo plays, but FaB's play-style is very much what I have been looking for. In addition I really liked the Arthurian feel of Dorinthea. So I decided to pick up the game.
@@SSDsmiley there's a card in metazoo that powers up if you fart during the game.
Without playing metazoo, Im guessing metazoo gameplay is not as tight as flesh and blood gameplay.

This is very convenient because there is a Sealed Event at my local game store today! And I've mostly played Draft and CC.
FAB is fantastic and the fact prof is making content on it, makes it even better.
my big tip for playing sealed (especially with friends!) is to have all the token heros and weapons out so you can refer them as you sort cards and read cards! It’s super helpful to keep referring back what you are actually building around! this helps a lot with the tales of aria hero’s as they can each be built in a couple different ways!
Great to see more Flesh and Blood content! I got into this game with the launch of CRU and have loved every minute of it(yes I am a disgruntled old Magic player :D)
Speaking of cost of entry....I would encourage anyone reading to try the commoner format as a great way to try Flesh and Blood. Very similar to Magics Pauper format and lots of fun

Love the video, but you made 1 error. It is sometimes correct to run more than 30 cards. Certain strategies require it, in fact. Take Oldhim in Tales of Aria sealed, for instance- if you're going for a "fatigue" win condition, having more than 30 cards is ideal. What is crucial in that deck is actually a good ratio of cards that block for 3 and earth/ice cards that pitch for 3. Hero's like Lexi also like having more arrows in some matchups to have more staying power against the fatigue lists

Hey Noah! I think you are correct however its dangerous for a beginner video to go way too much into the minutia of when you should play more than 30 or not. As such I think in general its probably better for beginners to always go for 30, especially as that is probably more likely with coming sets too.

A nice thing about sealed in FAB is that it doesn’t seem that hard to take a sealed deck you like and turn it into a Blitz deck after you’re done with your sealed event since Blitz is only 10 cards more. That has me very interested in playing sealed as I primarily play Blitz.
Yep! Commons are extremely playable in FaB. Limited is a great way to get a blitz deck going with a small investment.

This is such an intriguing TCG I’ve been binging videos and bought my first blitz deck. Even tho I can’t build CC for my LGS but I might attend a draft for this some day

I love drafting tales of Aria. It is so much fun! The amount of different play style. I did a skirmish event and we did 3 draft. In the first draft, I drafted a very defensive Oldhim with lots of defence reaction.
In the second draft, I drafted Oldhim again but this time very earth heavy.
And the third, a very Ice heavy Oldhim. I end up going 6-3 that day.
Sealed has always been my fav format, even more than draft (lol I'm too greedy to be good at draft) both in mtg and fab. Im excited to have my super melee cube completed after everfest drops for the soul purpose of weekly sealed play. Great vid prof. 👍

Just as a note, you can play sealed with any of the sets for FAB but two of them. Those sets are called Crucible of War and Everfest, the upcoming set,. Everfest will be released in Feburary. They are referred to as supplemental sets by the community. They are meant to enhance gameplay and are a lot of fun. You just can't draft with them or play sealed.

Would be great to see some gameplay by the Prof himself. This would help a lot of interested beginners to understand the rules even better👍🏻 Maybe with edited commentary to explain what is happening at the time.
Note that in the case of Dominate, if a player defends with one card from hand, any defense reactions would have to played from arsenal to be legal, as they could not be played from hand in addition to the card used to defend. The point about "Never" building more than a 30 card deck is really not the best advice, as there are Heroes that will want to play more than 30 cards in order not to be fatigued. Chane is such a hero, as he goes through quite a few cards when banishing at the beginning of each action phase. Unlike MTG, there are times when more cards are better than the minimum. Good luck with Oldhim with only 30 cards in your deck!

This is a very interesting video, I'm a magic player that first played KTK but I was 15 so no money and no understanding lol. Realistically I started properly playing GRN and I was 19 so some spare change and some understanding lol. Anyway, I'm a constructed and EDH player never really done limited drafts so Im torn between buying a booster box and opening some cards to make a full deck or just buying some blitz decks and trying the game that way. Either way, I think I want to give this game a go because it looks really cool, plus apparently it was created by a team from my brother country New Zealand lol.

Allready i didnt Played FaB. After my second Display "Black Label History Pack DE" im now able to Build 2 Blitz Decks for Casual Plays.
And here are my Questions :)
1. Is there a Big Gap if 1 Player has a missing Armor Slot?
2. Should i replace Cards like "Command and Conquer; Art of War" if there is only 1 Copy in my Collection?

There is arguably an exception to the 30 card deck rule and that would be Chane in Monarch, due to the way the soul shackles work having more cards especially in a Chane mirror can be the difference. You might not have as much synergy but you wont deck out as fast.

What is the reason for the 16+ age rating? Complex rules or gruesome artwork? Or perhaps both are the case?
I definitely want to try a sealed event sometime. I wasn’t on the FaB scene when CRU released so idk if Everfest will have a prerelease in the same vein as other sets though.
Everfest won't have a pre release. The set like CRU is not design for seal and draft play.

landmark cards don't pitch, block, or attack. when you play the card it remains on the field, affecting both players, until it is destroyed.

I still don't understand flesh and blood I watched profs video multiple time it just doesn't make sense to me I even went out and bought s couple starter deck think that it would help me understand the game but I just don't get it
there's other how to play videos on youtube, sometimes just getting a different perspective can be helpful. otherwise i would recommend bringing in a friend for assistance. if all else fails, your LGS should be able to give you an in-store demo, feel free to give them a call.
