Prof, if I like to play lgs-competitive (like FNM only tournaments) would this be enought to place/win for a while before i decided to upgrade it?
And what cost im I looking at to spend on upgrades?
@@AceDRoses these Blitz decks are designed as an entry point into the game. They are very cost effective, carry some unique cards and are very well balanced while playing other Blitz decks.
As with most other tcg's, when you take a starter deck out of the box and attempt to jump straight into competitive play.. well.. I think you kind of get what you ask for right?
I suppose you *could* take them to an armory event and participate. I feel they aren't designed for that sort of competitive play, but instead as an entry point for new players to become familiar with game and become more comfortable with the plays and choices they enjoy.
Upgrading the Blitz decks is relatively easy and will become even easier(and affordable) when Monarch unlimited comes out. (In just a couple weeks). Which should be plenty of time to pick up a Blitz deck and get familiar with Flesh and Blood!
Blitz decks only require 2 copies maximum of the rare or majestic cards, and sometimes you may not even decide to play those cards in your build. Legend Story Studios has done a great job with making the Common cards and sub-Majestic cards very playable cards.
Really hope this helps, and maybe it takes some work off the PROF. he's a busy man!

i hope this content continues. i know they won't likely get as much attention as most MTG videos, but even if there's one video a month on FaB it would be fantastic for the community.

This is exactly the kind of thing the game needs for new players to get started. Building decks for an unfamiliar TCG is often overwhelming, so having these available definitely lowers the barrier to entry. Still waiting for my unlimited Monarch box & blitz deck bundle from CFB. Can't wait!😁
Already a player. Was able to get mine for $16. And now I can easily have friends try the game. It's great.
I still have a sealed brick of all 8. lol. my gf picked one up that she liked to try the game out. relatively low cost, everything you need to learn and actually play the game and they don't suck to boot! it's a near perfect product.
You can always tell how well Magic is doing when the Professor starts reviewing alternative games.

Managed to get all 4 for $50 shipping/tax included! I'm really excited to play them.
So much of every hero's core package is made up of their commons that any of these can form the base of a competitive deck. Great design choice by LSS.
Played the Chane-Blitz Deck in an Armory Event (FaB's equivalent to FNM) and went 2:2 that night. Well synergized power straight out of the box!
Your how to play video got me very interested in flesh & blood, and now there's $12 starter decks. Sign me up. I need something to play when WotC makes me mad

Just picked up my first blitz decks and am learning to play with my fiance, looks like a really fun game can't wait to get more into it!
The Monarch ones do seem pretty tricky to get into the game with to me. I got in with Welcome to Rathe the first set, and it already had some things that tripped me up. But maybe it's simply that all Heroes have their own tricky thing. Maybe it's not MORE tricky, just different tricky. Up to Monarch the Banished zone and Soul zone were hardly ever used, but you will use them a lot with the heroes in Monarch. Maybe a fun detail. ^__^
Hi Prof., I never played Magic, but found your vids because i got into SWD and was looking for product reviews (sleeves, storage, etc.). I am forever grateful because your reviews saved me the trouble of trial and error (thus money). I always watched your booster box game, because that’s just plain fun. I am very excited that you are covering Flesh and Blood - a game that I play!
Got all 4 of these for me and my gf to play on her day off as a warm up to our other games we usually play, hoping to try them out soon but the card quality, the box quality, the art, etc are all produced quite well! I love the layout and design of the cards, there's not too much text on each card to confuse new players, and given Blitz is a short version of a longer game I think it's perfect for the two of us who have yet to play!
I am very excited about the possibility of getting into this game and collecting, I hope for actual 60 card (or whatever the 'standard' decksize is) starter decks at some point or general advice on a good jumping off point past these decks for when out LGS opens up for in person play :)

@@jonakill5510 Yeah, my LGS doesn't carry it, either, so I've been ordering it online (mostly TCG player). I've been bugging them to pick it up, but I don't think they will until it's more popular.
I love that the mentor cards aren’t tied to a hero in specific but a class type instead.

I was on the fence about buying these blitz decks seeing them at £45 for all four but this convinced me. I look forward to playing some games with my friends now and hopefully getting them into the game.

6:16 And that's pretty much why I stopped collecting Magic a few years ago. When I started looking through the commons and uncommons and saying "I wouldn't put any of these in a deck." I knew it was time to stop.

@@golem001px Please elaborate what you mean by it being my fault.
It was Wizard's choice to print garbage that's only playable in draft in the common and uncommon slots, leading to the majority of constructed playable cards being printed at the rare or mythic level. In light of that I decided to walk away from the game.
I'm not saying every card should be a bomb, but the vast majority of them should be solid cards that would be fun to play with in a constructed deck.
The power level of commons is really high, it really does help make the game feel balanced even if you don't have all the super rares or majestics for your deck, Even the equipment that everybody strives to get only gives you minor advantages for the most part
Yeah, I imagine at top tier levels of play stopping 1 or 2 damage is a big deal, but for the huge bulk of the player base you don't need the money cards at all.
Picked up one of each at my LGS and am excited to give them a go some time. I have no idea which one I'll enjoy the most, but Chane looks the most intriguing to me.

Finally! I hopped into this game in March acquiring a display of the starter decks. Then when I started to look into playing, thats when the unlimited prints came out and my decks jumped in price and now I don't want to play with them. I tried to get some new stuff, but I couldn't find stuff anywhere to get some new cards. I'm gonna call around to see if I can find these!
For the casual player who doesn't collect or has a tight budget, totally worth it. I really enjoy your videos as a person who is just getting into TCG's
The card shop I went into the other day was selling their blitz decks for $30 each 🙃

I'm not even interested in Flesh & Blood, but I'm happy to see more content about games other than MTG. I officially consider myself a former MTG player, now (Legends of Runeterra has stolen my heart without stealing my wallet), and while I don't expect Prof to give up on it anytime soon, the continued diversity of content pleases me. Hopefully, we'll start to see more in-depth content for F&B, LoR, and any other non-MTG games Prof is interested in talking about.
Riot is a garbage ass company, but i'm happy you found something they produce that you like.
@@lockecole3726 Yeah, I've heard that. Still, they make a fantastic game that doesn't require me to dump hundreds (or thousands) of dollars into it just to enjoy it. Until I find out that Riot is performing blood magic rituals by sacrificing babies, I'm good with them otherwise being shit.

I love Magic. It will always be near and dear to my heart, but with WOTC/Hasbro's one step forward, two steps back approach to the game has made me throw my hands up and just wipe my hands clean of them and the game for now.
So far of Flesh and Blood, I've liked what I've seen. Mind you, LSS isn't above reproach and I agreed with the Prof's criticism in his Interview with Kellen from Red Rogue Zone a few weeks back, especially with releasing Unlimited product much closer to 1st edition releases. That being said, they are doing a lot of things that are ticking the right boxes, including what appears to be a robust OP system, which I think a game needs to really thrive. I hope LSS continues on and gives WOTC/Hasbro a run for the money (feels like a pun at this point..) and gives them what Magic needs; healthy, competent competition. Competition would, hopefully, make WOTC/Hasbro really take a hard look at Magic, how it is designed, and how to treat it.
But let's be fair, the suits at Hasbro has their heads so far up their....money bins...to not even care how Magic is treated so long as it continues to give them those short term gains. But until they do something drastic to treat Magic the way it deserves to be, my money, time and gaming efforts are going to LSS and Flesh and Blood for the foreseeable future.
I absolutely love the flesh and blood videos keep them coming I also seen they sent my lgs a lot more stuff just to show how much they appreciate them love the way flesh and blood is handling things!
Oh nice! I got lucky and got Prism and Boltyn for $12 each at Frank and Sons last Saturday. Bought them partly because of that “How to play video” you made Professor! That said, I still need to finish watching it ... but Prism looks cool! She attacks with illusions based off past heroes from what I understand, which is awesome because it’s like I have multiple heroes instead of one.
Just bought a few of these decks for my brothers and I to play, so excited to see this grow!

I am amazed how much substance your FaB video contains. Only a few content creators cover the game play or even talk about it. Most are just opening packs and checking what chase card they pulled. Thank you for sharing the other side of FaB which is the game play. More power to you and your channel.
I've bought all 4 of these and sleeved and bouldered them for a little battle box. Bouldered is of course the verb for putting your deck in a boulder! I've never played this game but I'm really excited to give it a try!

These decks are fantastic, I love that we have the option to introduce people to the game with decks that can be picked up so easily. I learned with the old hero decks but they were clunky while blitz and these decks specifically are just awesome!
I also give these an A, if you have any interest in the game pick a couple up!

I picked up a booster box of Welcome to Rathe and it contained enough cards to build a blitz deck for each hero, with a bit of equipment sharing. Are they top tier decks? No. Am I a top tier player? Also no, but they match up against each other really well. Planning to do the same with Arcane Rising and already preordered the Monarch decks and a booster box. Looking forward to building a battle box to take to game nights.

i've played against a couple players from brazil over webcam; you'll have to import these for the time being. LSS has stated that they are making efforts to get the game into more countries, but no timeline has been set. stay tuned!

Loved the review. I was surprised to find the mentor card and the foil hero card are actually fairly valuable cards (at least for now). They're a really cool addition that, even if I had all the other cards, I'd still wanna buy these. They're about 5-10 bucks each which surprised me since they're in these decks that are print to demand. I love the starter decks because it helps me, as a new player, to help with just general deck construction.
Cheers Professor. As a Magic player i'm increasingly getting frusrated with the state of Magic over the last a couple years and Flesh and Blood is something i am intrested in getting into, not saying i will quit Magic but i need something that is ticketing all the right boxes for me for now.

I keep seeing stuff about Flesh and Blood. It has peeked my interest. I think I'm going to have to give the game a try before I go all in, yet it looks like a pretty solid game.
I've been debating the Chane deck for a while, I really enjoy Runeblade playstyle, and I think, after seeing this, I'm gonna cough up the cash for it. Thanks for helping me make and educated decision once again Professor!

I recently ordered all 4 to help introduce people to the game alongside the budget blitz decks I put together for other heroes. I'm taking the foil Levia for my personal deck, though.

great video! These decks really are a great starting point. They're not a huge commitment to give the game a go, and it really sets you off on the right foot with playability.

I’ve wanted 2 get into this game for awhile but the secondary market has kinda scared me away. Glad they made these, definitely gonna snag one if I can find it for a decent price
Same, supply is so bad, its hard to get into. And with the old set boxes going for like 5k its a bit rediculous. There is only like 1-2 sets previous to this and prices are like that. Not a good look.
@@kargion It's only bad if you want the alpha/1st edition versions. Unlimited is decently priced (around 100 a box last I checked) and should be easier to get.
@@thomasm7711 Yeah THIS. Avoid the 1st edition versions like the plague. Just go for the Unlimited edition! Even that can be a bit of a pain to find but it shouldn't be much higher than MSRP.
@@kargion Check out Team Covenant I think all their unlimited boxes are at MSRP.
@@thomasm7711 Even unlimited has cards that are $100+, like Fyendal's Spring Tunic which most competitive decks play which is over $200

This is a great and fair review of this product. I agree that the balance between them is fantastic and you'll be able to enjoy many of games with them. Whether you're a new player or experienced.
I honestly went to my local game store a week or two ago and got a trial deck... forgot what this card game was called but wanted to play it. I got mine for 13$ and its a blast and i like it alot. It even has a multiplayer format like Commander

Personally? I dug Levia's play style most even though I prefer the flavor of Prism way more.
