I am back! And very excited about adventuring once again,
This one was a quick escape after work at 4.30pm and rode 50miles to camp in the Chilterns. The second day I rode the Ridgeway along to Tring and then the canal back into London.
Felt so good to be out and seizing opportunities once again, and promise many more adventures are on their way.

@@barrygodin7538Hi Barry. As we haven't camped in years, we have only had a trial camp in the garden so far. We still loaded the bikes with camping gear and went for a bike ride, returning home to set up camp. We both enjoyed it. For those new to it all, I do recommend trying it like that, as we did forget a few things. Have got a few short trips planned when we feel safer going to camp sites.
@@robertmaddocks9023 That is such an incredible idea!!! Love love love it! Also you can grab what you forgot and add it to the list! I do hope you get a nice trip planned! but you are doing it all in the right way, get comfortable first

Nice one Barry that looked a really great ride ! , I literally just done A part of King Alfreds Way this week Winchester to Reading 100mikes in 3 days which was great for me with a cheeky wildcamp and a travelodge 🤣. Gonna regroup and do the remaining section in July the Ridgeway is a part of the route it looks great on your vid , looking forward to seeing it in the Summer 👍🙂🤪
Ahh brilliant, yes I am still to ride the King alfreds way since it has been named, have ridden most of it before that. But on my list, hope you had a good trip! Brilliant idea to do a wild camp and a one night indoors, takes a lot of pressure off. Yeah ridgeway is a good pedal, nice views!
Welcome back! Nice to have you in my part of the world (live in Maidenhead). Recognised the Slough arm of the Grand Union Canal, not its finest part! Looks like a great trip. I would love to know your route. Suggest posting a route map for example Strava?
Hey, yeah was nice to ride through there and the jubilee river is a nice ride, but from Maidenhead to Henley was a fast tight road, not the most pleasent :-)
@@barrygodin7538 yes I avoid the A4130, horrid road. Warren Row Road is a much nicer alternative. Cheers

Great video Barry - was this recently? We've had so much rain in May, I was expecting the ridgeway to be a squidgy, slippery, mess?
Haha, it was this Wednesday and Thursday, so yes I just beat all the showers. Yeah it was a bit soggy in places, but still very dry and good
@@barrygodin7538 Thanks Barry - I went there yesterday, the ridgeway was dry as a bone! The views are incredible.
