Great video. Could you put the regulator and filter between some hose and the compressor so it wouldnt be so awkward? You could drape it on your shoulder or hold it, so you dont drag it across your work. Or do barbell curls since that setup is just as heavy! How about a purging video, especially for those with larger tanks with more gunk and moisture in them?
dont know what am i doing wrong but when i connect regulator to a hose, nothing happens on the gauge and when i connect gun, no air goes to it, i have 2 regulators but none of them work
did you buy the hf brass regulator? i bought one of those and it sucks. it has a very small adjustment range and it seems like its either on or off. not much in the working range. i then bought the one that appears to be a chromed finish and it works so much better. the difference of a $1 just one hook away on the shelf. take the needle out of this purple gun and polish it . put it in a cordless drill and spin it in some fine paper. I happen to have a roll of 30 micron paper and run the tip in that a few seconds to a minute getting all the rough machining grooves out and making it super smooth . youd be surprised how much it helps flow paint. this little $9.99 gun can lay some paint.
Good Video, thanks for the instructions. I have a question for you if you are already running an air filter and Dryer at the compressor do you still have to have the water filter at the gun?
Not at all. If you have a good high quality system at the compressor area you don’t really need one at the gun. It’s cheap insurance but some people don’t like adding all the accessories right by the gun as it makes it bulkier and may be harder to maneuver
Even the chepie guns like these will spray much better with Hi-Flo fittings. That fitting you installed is highly restrictive. Purchase a Hi-Flo fitting and compare the inside diameter of the two and you will see what I mean. You really want cfm over psi with these guns...

fartpoobox ohyeah wherever your soft line plugs into a hard line, yes, you need a hi flo male and female fitting there (if this is a removable hose). Each hose you attach needs to have the fittings as well if they are up stream from your gun.
That first fitting was superior shoulda grabbed the blue Merlin hi flow coupler kit it’s only 1/4 I think but better than industrial or automotive style. I prefer the Milton or flexzilla 3/8 hi flow coupler
Great video. Your hands are mimicking that of Chris Fix!. Haha. It used to be that the gauge and water separator was attached to the compressor. Why is that not done now?
I have seen bigger compressor systems have a dedicated water separator by the tank but not sure f they would use another one by the gun or not. As far as pressure regulator. I know my compressor has some regulators by the tank but this one is needed so we can see the accurate psi by the gun. That’s my understanding...
i like the setup and vid but I'm thinking of putting the filter on the compressor and the regulator on the gun to shorten it up a bit should work right?
Yes it should work too. But I see more people having it by gun for some reason so I’m doing the same. Thanks for watching! What are you gonna be painting??
This is so helpful thank you so much for the simple explanation. Now I have a bigger gun for primer and another for base / clear coat, do I need to buy another regulator and water trap? So I don’t have to keep unscrewing it ?
@@BulliKid yep try it on your next vid i will cost u 10$ or less its i made a mistake its actually w71 a copy of iwata w71 spray gun😅 its spray better than h827 spray gun it sprays very fine😊
That gun waste 3 times more paint then the hf $70 gun. Save money on paint and get a decent gun. I bought 3 of thoes junk purple guns, so much orange peel and poor atomization.
BULLI KID you can get a good job from rusto paint, use “Japan drier” with the mix and it dries much better and a little more glossy then you can cut&buff the paint like I did on my old integra, it was very nice.
@@randabuffer6562i am experimenting trying to get a good smooth finish out of the gun. experimenting with mixing ratios and what not. 1:1 lays like glass but you will run most likely and is tricky

thanks for this video, as a newbie, I would have set the pressure with the trigger off
No problem man! I was new to this earlier this year. Check out my other videos. It’s not easy to paint. Maybe you can get more tips and tricks.

Can you change the inside or do you buy a new one.
T tape breaks up when screwed in, would that or t tape enter in the fittings. Just wondering. I might be wrong

You want the regulator at the gun to get the most accurate reading of pressure for your spray.

I got a regulator but the top that screws to the gun doesn’t have threads idk why but what should I do?
Also. Would it be best to clean the gun before using. Cuz there oiled. I'm sure oils would mix with paint.
Yes always!!!
grab a can of gun cleaner right on the shelf not far from where you pick up the gun. its basically acetone in a spray form.

How much d spray gun
$10-$15
Thanks a lot for the explain 👍🏼
No problem

De Oppresso Liber yes if you don’t want to keep changing it from gun to gun you would need separate regulators and filter.
You can add quick connections just like on the air hose between gun and regulator and one on the bottom so you can switch them to other guns.
That gun looks good bro
Hopefully can spray good! 😬
I'd be safe and have a filter at the compressor and at the gun.
Would be even better honestly.
Is there any harm in adding two filters? Compressor and by gun? Loss of pressure? New to spray guns
Nice idea
