    Nice video. Interesting how much of a difference there is in generations of Outremers. Thanks for making this.

      Thanks Jay!
      Danson designed and built the Outremers. No mass production, no compromises. And built a good reputation with this making no compromises. After he died, the new company took over the name and the reputation.

    LoL Ruby Rose ding, nice. The joinery is so nice but the hatches stick up a cm and the liferaft can't be deployed in 2.75 seconds...

      we dont like this way of promotion, even its clever and seems to work. nobody outside of Australia had an idea about seawind, now in the cat groups its highly discussed. but: its like in the car magazines, who pays most gets the honours...

    Could you make a video about the Marsaudon Composites catamarans? I love their clean design and sailing speed

      @UmadumSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sven, we are not a profesional film company, so we make a film, when we meet a catamaran, which fits to this group, if we meet one. very difficult at the moment, because we spend our time in the shipyard now.

    Great boat, and thanks for the good real world content. Quick question regarding the transoms on that O45... they look like they have been modified. Do you know if the boat was extended or did they cut away the inboard hull? Nice work, keep it up!

    • @UmadumSailing
      @UmadumSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as I know they built it like that. For sure not extended. It’s the original 45 late model.

    many peoples are interested on one of the most important aspect of living on a boat : anchors .
    it is an hot argument ...dont go into a fight !

      @@UmadumSailing it depend from which side we are looking .A lot of peoples lost their jobs , many others are surviving ,the middle class that was living with the tourism is in a bad shape .
      Do to the fact that nobody travel outside Thailand , the Thai guys with money they now go holiday in their own country .
      We had a period of lockdown , 3 weeks , but after that we where quite free to circulate except for another period where they started to test and testing they found a lot of peoples with the virus ....but that was bangkok .
      I am still working , much less then before but still ok .
      I probably will stop in maybe 6 months time .
      I dont see nothing good coming if the boats are not permitted to come to thailand .
      Ok ............. i am going back to work ,i am rebuilding a 50 feet Shionning balsa cat with huge termite damages.
      Ciao.

    Agree with you on performance catamaran but they have a few problems. They are rares and expensive. I plan to buy and live aboard in about two years. So I'm seriously looking at the market and this fine Outremer 45 would be worth about $300K to 350K US. That is a bit out of my budget, I will have to compromise.

    • @UmadumSailing
      @UmadumSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends what year they are built. Nothing to say against a 10-15 year old boat, if you make a survey with a catamaran specialist

    • @fabriziocremonini6797
      @fabriziocremonini6797 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes they are rare and generally speaking many peoples they dont understand this kind of boats .i think the time is very different today from when i was younger and some peoples they where more interested on going sailing then having a floating caravan .
      We have in Phuket ( Gunther know me ) a 52 custom made alluminium cat , with a 20.8 meters tall mast , big main sail , it sail very well , is ,a call it a 4x4 sailing cat .
      I am trying to sell it for a friend , it is a simple boat , strong , 9.5 tons weight , completed in 2012 , 2 electric winches , solar panels and beautiful 2x 54 hp Yanmar . very difficult to sell it ! peoples want the floating caravans ! it it is for me i would buy it immediately .
      I did so much works on that boat that i know it could be trusted ....but the reality is totally different .

    More of this subject! More! This is information about performance cats what you normally can nor get. Too much about Lagoons, Fontain Pajot, Leopards and the newest Seawind hyped by payed yourtubers... Seems you have no connection to the industry. That's what I want to see!

    • @UmadumSailing

      hi Marrku, yes, we are not paid! And we have a nice cat, so no need for a free one. w e just like to share our thoughts, our very personal thaughts about catamarans. I owned 3 cats in my 25 at sea, and the difference is so great with a proper boat. if its ocean crossing, or sailing from bay to bay, even going upwind is fun

    • @UmadumSailing
      @UmadumSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s what I like about your performance catamaran series: it’s new information which is not easy to get normally. Without the big budgets of the big boatbuilders investing in PR
